As long as there are people who believe that anything that can fire 3 bullets without reloading is “hyper-dangerous”, the NRA is necessary.  Necessary evil?

Tell that to every person gunned down in a mass shooting, you psycho who thinks requiring training to buy those firearms is an infringement on his rights.

It was a father's day slaying.  Even if you pass sensible gun restrictions, he just would have used an ugly paisley tie or a bottle of old spice to murder.

Positive that came out of Uvalde: cops can no longer hide information from family of deceased suspects. Police would use existing laws to hide the cops' potential crimes. Family of a dead Mesquite suspect fought to get the laws changed for a decade and now police cannot withhold info.

But when his mother and father asked police for more details, Mesquite refused. Texas law said records of incidents that don’t result in a conviction could be kept confidential. Because Graham died before his case could be heard, the department said it didn’t have to share the records, not even with his grieving parents.

Police unions most likely kept this out of several sessions but finally there was too much pressure from citizens that overcame the unions.

What percentage of those who would like to limit capacity draw the line at 3 bullets?

This one was mentioned earlier in the thread.  Some more details.

A Seattle couple have been identified as the people killed in a shooting last weekend at the Gorge Amphitheatre.

Brandy Escamilla, 29, and Josilyn Ruiz, 26, died from gunshot wounds suffered Saturday during the popular Beyond Wonderland electronic dance music festival at the Central Washington venue, said Grant County coroner Craig Morrison. Their deaths were ruled homicides.

The pair were engaged to be married, according to a GoFundMe page Ruiz’s family organized to raise money for funeral costs, bring Ruiz’s belongings back to them in California and help with other unexpected costs.

Ruiz was shot in the torso and Escamilla was shot in the head, Boyle said.

“What we believe is there was a domestic violence situation going on between the shooter and someone else and that Josilyn stepped in to help the victim,” Boyle said.

Who knows. I was just an example from the thread.  Maybe it’s not a bad idea. We can bring drillings back in style.

So you basically misrepresented the overwhelming majority of opinions on where that line should be drawn and now just shrug your shoulders?  OK, par for the course.

No, I said as long as there are people like that (even on this thread) then there needs to be an equal force pushing back.  For every Feinstein and SJL gun bill, I’d prefer and donate towards 1000 lawyers fighting them at even the slightest move.

Do you see a lot of support for those bills on the left?

When your priority is to *reload less frequently*

It's hard to reach climax while you're reloading.

I don't give a shit what the perp did - there is a system in place for dealing with shit like that. This isn't fucking Judge Dredd. No citizen - not even cops - are judge, jury, and executioner. ffs

What's going on with Pflugerville ISD?

Took my family to visit Chicago for 3 days this week.  Nobody got shot.  Saw the setup for the NASCAR race but could barely see Lake Michigan’s due to Canada wildfire smoke.

Soliz was the sole officer stationed at Kelly Lane Middle School, according to the affidavits. He is charged with online solicitation of a minor and tampering with physical evidence, affidavits stated.

This shit is so common that 2 dead and 28 injured in Baltimore doesn't even raise an eyebrow around here.

Are shooters getting worse or are we evolving to become more resistant to bullets?

Baltimore shooter(s) probably didn’t have military grade weaponry.

If it's a high ranking hood rat they might roll with an AR or AK.  Don't profile broseph.

That would be what you’re doing. I’m just going by the probability that if you shoot 30 people with an AR-15 then the the death toll is likely to be a lot higher than 2, broseph.

You aren't going by shit.  You're just guessing at what the probability is.

Such as a 1911, M9, P320, and several glock models?  All actual military weaponry, not actual non-military weaponry like you are alluding to.

Does anybody believe that those who are maimed, injured or killed by guns care about the kind of gun that harmed them?

If I survived getting shot with a handgun, I’d be thankful I wasn’t shot with an assault rifle.

If I get shot, I hope it’s by an AR-15 so I can tell news the shooter was a massive pussy

I saw on the news earlier that 4th of July weekend is the worst time for mass shootings over the last few years. Seems sadly appropriate.

Just decent, hardworking Americans celebrating the right way.

I mean….really….is there any more American way to celebrate something than shooting the hell out of each other? It’s kinda perfect.

The most sickening thing about the current rash of shootings is that most of us could have predicted this would happen during this celebration of freedom and liberty. Thing is, just how free are we to pursue happiness is this climate of unchecked gun violence?

Unchecked gun violence makes some people very happy so it’s not only encouraging their pursuit of happiness, but actually enhancing it. We’ve just decided as a society that the happiness of a minority of our citizenry is more important than the majority.

Yeah, but what happened to promoting our general welfare? Gun violence doesn’t do that.

2A is more important than our general welfare. Guns are worshipped above all else.
