Scottie Scheffler Detained by Police

Pretty surprising that they are holding a press conference and releasing additional video. Seems like there are two options here:

1) they actually have video that's bad for Scottie and the department is tired of getting dragged through the mud

2) they are complete fucking morons

Or maybe a combination of 1 and 2. Guess we will see.

"Felony assault of a police officer"

The only assaulting going on was the unmarked idiot smashing the car.  The officer initiated contact and Scottie immediately stopped.  Detective doofus just lost any credibility that he had.

Kentucky, say goodbye to the PGA.

What the hell.  This is the horse that LPD, DA, and the Mayor are going to ride?

Scottie's lawyer needs to go on the offensive.  He's been playing defense, relying on Scottie's good-guy image, not wanting to disparage the police.  That needs to end.

Let's pretend nothing happened.

https://www.wave3.com/2024/05/23/sources-say-scottie-scheffler-arresting-lmpd-detective-mutually-agree-charges-should-not-proceed/

Sources with direct knowledge told WAVE News Troubleshooters that both the officer involved, Detective Bryan Gillis, and Scheffler’s team believe it would be best for everyone if the charges don’t proceed.

They mutually acknowledge, sources said, that it was a chaotic situation and that they both want to move on. Sources added they’ve both expressed that the focus should be on ensuring John Mills, the man who died in a crash that morning, is remembered.

So yes people were correct that the cop was a hot head and overreacted. Lucky for Scottie there's proof.

Yeah this is not a good look at all for LPD.  And no video camera evidence from camera that the officer was wearing casts plenty of doubt.  DA's and LPD will get Fuckin' Destroyed in court if they continue to pursue these charges...

Scottie's attorney: Tell you what, if you agree to make this all go away, we will agree not to drag your crooked-ass dept through the mud publicly and not go forward with this information bomb on what a complete piece of shit your officer is.

What do you say?

Top left corner behind the buses.

Another thing you’ll notice watching this video is that there isn’t any oncoming traffic to present a hazard. Dude definitely just got pissed that his “authority” was disregarded, intentionally or not.

I think they released the video and noted that the detective didn’t follow procedure so that they have a plausible excuse to walk away from the charges.  Should be done quickly.  No way Scottie has to show up for an arraignment hearing.

Yeah, their opportunity to do that was last Friday afternoon or last Saturday at the latest. They’ve had 3 or 4 ridiculous Dudley Doright court shows since then. Louisville looks like a fucking joke from top to bottom at this point.

What a joke. I am Jack's complete lack of surprise that the video in no way matches what is in Officer Dipshit's police report.

This should've been thrown out Monday morning.

He's lucky there's video but also that he's a rich, white guy.

IMO, all LE officers in the USA should have fully-functioning body-cameras on at all times while on duty. It would go a long way toward legitimizing police work in this country. Unfortunately, it would probably dissuade so many cops from taking the job in the first place because these guys get into this profession to fuck shit up in a lot of cases.

It should’ve been thrown out Friday.

Scottie isn’t lucky.  He was never going to be convicted of any crime much less formally charged. The cop is extremely unlucky that this video is so clear and is incredibly stupid to be pressing forward with this.

Corby accurately compared that cop to the characters Bill Heder and Seth Rogan played in Super Bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Those guys were actually fun and didn't try to charge McLovin with any bullshit though.

Louisville showing how much of a second rate city they are. That city deserves to be blacklisted and crossed off the lists of those selecting sites for conventions, concerts and big sporting events. Likewise for anyone thinking of moving their business to that joke of a city. Who in their right mind would want to have dignitaries treated like Scheffler, Masters winner and #1 player in golf who got arrested going to the club in a tournament marked car.

Why aren’t the moneyed interests at Valhalla and the business community putting pressure on the mayor, DA, Louisville Police Chief behind the scenes to drop these charges have these same idiots apologize to Scheffler? Instead they’re doubling down on the stupid. After treating one of our own like this, I have no desire to ever visit Kentucky. I am confident this clown show wouldn’t happen in any of the big cities in Texas. We know how to host big events. Fuck Louisville.

“High intensity traffic enforcement”

lol these people are in another world.  I wonder how many cops participated in that 4 hour game of who can fuck with the most people, that he is credited with 108 out of 204 total citations.

Thats 1 every 2:13 for him over a 4 hour period, btw.

Isn’t falsifying a police report a crime?

He most certainly and blatantly did that.   Being talked to about no body cam shouldn’t be all, he should be charged.

Who's going to charge him, the DA? This is why most everyone hates cops and the DAs who protect them.

That's impossible unless he was doing parking tickets.  You can't pull that many people over in 4 hours on street or highway.

It’s called stacking, any poor bastard that was stopped by him during that time was getting 5 or 6 tickets most certainly for chickenshit “violations”. Takes a pretty shitty human being to be proud of stats like that.

Kinda like how Scottie caught 4 or 5 charges for driving where he was allowed to drive?

Nothing happened to the Austin cop who arrested Antonio Beuhler in 2012, filed a false report and got away with it even after a very clear & unobstructed view of that incident showed he did nothing wrong.

This stupid bitch has to have some ties to aggy. You cant be a total asshole cop like this without some type of inherit connection to aggy. If not he should be awarded an honorary degree.

You need to get with the program, son. While you were over there writing tickets one at a time like a fucking moron, officer Willis managed to issue 48 citations to Mrs Havercamp.

You know what.....step into my office. You're fucking fired.
