Not an ortho but I’ve had 3 non surgical finger dislocations that I’ve reset in the past 2 years in high-school athletes and all were back at it in 3 weeks or less. Big caveats: 1.None were thumbs. 2. None were having to catch piss missiles from Arch Manning.

I dislocated my middle finger when I punched my buddy's fist during a disorderly disagreement.
A random dude said he was an EMT, so I let my buddy buy me a shot and then the rando EMT pulled my middle finger back into place.

Shit still hurts seven years later.

Couple months ago I leaned back on the couch with my fingers interlocked across my chest. Woke up about 2 hours later and had pulled my middle finger out of socket I guess. Still hurts like a mfer. Getting old is dumb

Doctors in the chat, what would a player do to come back and play in 2 weeks if it’s a dislocation? Just curious what kind of shots or pain relief they would give on gameday and what kind of braces that might be used that would still give him use of that hand/thumb in the game.

I'm not a doctor, but I reset my own thumb in high school, just out of instinct.  I didn't miss any time.

It was sore for a couple weeks, but good as gold.

Maybe it depends which thumb joint?  Mine was at the base closest to my hand...his looked to be more in the middle?

Sark even said, Wingo could've come back in if needed.

Wife and I were on campus for an early morning pre-party with our son.  He had game tix, so we decided to try out the Victory Lap.  Excellent experience.  Environment was electric from the outset with that Wingo play.  Loved seeing the fighting Pavias get repeatedly punched in the mouth.

You should have watched on campus at the tailgate.

And get a creepy pic w/ a middle schooler?

I'm not sure if you are trying to insult me or be a dick, but no because it's a really cool place to watch the game and a great setup with other longhorns fans with good game sound, food and drink throughout the game.

While that hot streak has been fraught with some injury news, the Longhorns seemingly got a positive update on Sunday when it comes to one of their best offensive players. According to On3's Pete Nakos, wide receiver Ryan Wingo is not expected to miss any time going forward after being forced to exit Saturday's game against Vanderbilt with a thumb injury.

He’s a bum.  The reason they were down to Miss St.  or so I’m told.

He is a a menace with the ball in his hands, but getting the ball there can be an adventure.

He is a huge talent, but he is still an athlete playing WR. When he learns the details of WR position, he is going to be scary.
