If your point is posts on BS are evidence of a conversation outside of the Dem ecosystem, you have yet to support that point. Your second paragraph is an attack of my timeline, which is nonsensical. I'm in the Dem ecosystem. Of course I saw that, and knew it was coming. My experience online is irrelevant to the quesiton of whether normies and centrists are still fired up about #PedoPresident. So is yours.

I mean...I told you outright that there's little mention about the Epstein case in my tl which was exactly what you claimed it would be. fwiw "trending" isn't all that meaningful over there. Indeed, clicking on the topic shows very little is an ongoing discussion about the topic. You can have a look. Either "discover", "blacksky trending" or "popular with friends" provide varied entertainment when my tl seems boring. The Epstein case isn't being discussed at all right now from what I can see. But that doesn't mean damage hasn't been done nor that it won't continue to do damage. Your claim is it's an echo chamber. So prove it. It's impossible to prove a negative, icydk.

Not really.  He's going to make Canada a state so we won't have to redesign the American flag.

Ah, so you want me to prove something that wasn't really my main point. Instead defend a well-known bit of conventional wisdom. OK. Sure. Let me google that for you:

https://www.pewresearch.org/short-reads/2025/05/29/bluesky-has-caught-on-with-many-news-influencers-but-x-remains-popular/

From the link:

Bluesky adoption is concentrated on the left

The news influencers from our 2024 sample who are on Bluesky are largely people on the political left. Among those who explicitly identified as liberals or Democrats or who supported Joe Biden or Kamala Harris in summer 2024, 69% now have a Bluesky account. This compares with 15% of news influencers who identified as conservative, Republicans or supporters of Donald Trump. About half of news influencers without a clear political orientation (47%) have a Bluesky account.

At the same time, most news influencers across the political spectrum have not left X. Three-quarters of left-leaning news influencers have an X account, as do 87% of right-leaning news influencers and 83% of those without a clear political orientation.

Also of note in this article pokes a big hole in your assertion that X is nothing more than a bot wasteland. I'm with you in that regard, and deleted my account a while ago. But maybe we're both at least a bit wrong about that.

makes me wonder what military bases we have up there. I'll try to look later

1. Joint Base Elmendorf/Richardson in Anchorage - 2 F-22 squadrons, a C-17 airlift squadron and 2nd Brigade, 11th Airborne

2. Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks - 1st  Brigade, 11th Airborne plus associated Army aviation (helicopters)

3. Eielson AFB in North Pole - 2 F-35 squadrons, a F-16 squadron and a refueling wing.

4. Fort Greeley in Greeley - Missile defense testing

5.  7 Coast Guard Stations

Give or take, 25,000-30,000 personnel.

Less than half the voters in this country aren't okay.  More than half of this voters don't give a shit.

You don't have mental gymnastics when you don't have any mentality in the game.

Pretty easy when you look at the math.

A third are cheering it on

A third can't even name the vice president

And the other third are pussies.

I was bumping channels a few days ago and saw Kamala Harris on a talk show. “Well, I’ll take it I guess. We need as many voices as possible talking out against all this right now.”

Yeah she was there promoting her new book.

I saw her on Colbert and it was such a throwaway interview. She brought nothing to the table. (She should still be president right now but she was a total zero interview subject.)

This shit really pisses me off. A county clerk acts on behalf of the government. Part of the job is to issue marriage licenses to any couple eligible to get married based on the applicable laws.

if my experience is any indication...most everyone who voted for him has no idea about 90% of what's happening. my dad's response to pretty much everything my sister and i talked about was 'oh really? wow. no i hadn't heard anything about that.'

that is even more enraging than the Johnny Sack cretins cheering it on. 😒

I look forward to the Trump regime taking responsibility for any and all violent crimes committed in DC. We all know they are big on responsibility.

Sometimes we (or I) forget that where they get their information is essentially Trump TV. I've asked Dotardarians about whatever the Trump scandal of the day is, only to have them look at me with a confused face. "Huh? I haven't heard that. Are you making that up?". Nope, it's literally been the biggest story in the country the past week.

I had a trumper friend arguing with me in his first term and I asked him what he thought of the khashoggi murder and he claimed to have not heard of it. I told him never to talk about politics around me again.

So as far as I can tell, the Democratic playbook is to object vociferously and then let Donald Trump do whatever he wants.

That tracks.

Well... There isn't anything they can "do" except talk about it... Which will add fuel.

Seems line they're waiting for the water to boil. Some frogs are gonna die. They voted for death.

I mean "concentrated on the left" isn't quite the same thing as an "echo chamber" where they're discussing the Epstein files non-stop, but okay.

Seriously, like what are they supposed to do, exactly? Other than sacrificing their bodies/lives/freedom to instigate a more violent confrontation. We’ve talked about it that before and I do believe that would be inflection point if that were to happen. But other than that, what are Democrats supposed to do right now?
