controversial people deserve to be bonesawed in trump's america.

This is the end point of what he said.  He is fine with the murder and dismemberment of members of the press who report negative things about him, because....that's what he wants to do himself.  One never has to do much work to "connect dots" in Trumpland. It's really just a single line between the dots of "worst thing possible" and "Trump wants to do that thing."

Even Loomer is beginning to position herself for a spot in post-Trump conservatism.  Either they know Trump is dying quickly or think he's so weak now that he might as well be. Anyone trying to predict how this will all unfold is an idiot, but we're definitely looking at some kind of schism.

Having just watched Death by Lightning, it feels like Loomer succeeded where Charles Guiteau failed.  They're essntially the same person, different century.

Trump: hey, uh... what's your kink?

MSB: I dismember journalists.. you?

Trump: I rape underage girls.

MSB: cool. cool.

At least they're asking the questions now and making him have to blow up and call people names.

Why do they allow questions at these things at all?  Why not just do the photo op and move on?  Maybe because nothing matters?  I don't know.

It is more sad than funny.   Because it will work.  The American people can be bought very cheaply.  And they don't recognize they're being bought with their own money.

It didn't work the last time.

Good shit.

https://www.texastribune.org/2025/11/18/texas-redistricting-ruling-lawsuit-el-paso-court-2026-midterms/

“The public perception of this case is that it’s about politics,” U.S. Judge Jeffrey Brown, a Trump appointee, wrote in the ruling striking down the new lines. “To be sure, politics played a role in drawing the 2025 Map. But it was much more than just politics. Substantial evidence shows that Texas racially gerrymandered the 2025 Map.”

Yeah, it might not survive SCOTUS, but they'd have to rule by December 8, when candidates have to register.  And they can't just do it on the shadow docket, I don't believe.

I wonder what effect this is going to happen on California's maps. Does it matter that the maps there were literally put up for a vote and people passed it? Or will the Supreme Court just strike down that map if they also strike down the Texas map?

California is likely not stupid enough to create an inference of racial gerrymandering, which is the problem here.  And you have a Trump appointee and a GHWB appointee finding racial gerrymandering.  It must be pretty blatant.

Really good shit.  I didn't know much of Jeff Brown when he was at the Texas Supreme Court except for running into him at social functions, and he was a nice enough guy.  Like all the judges who run for or are appointed to that high court, he seemed like a political creature as much as the next Texas Republican.  But I never got a huge MAGA vibe from him.  I'm guessing Trump, who appointed him to the federal bench, will write a scathing middle-of-the-night all-caps tweet attacking him as "the worst judge."

The lawsuits against Cali are certainly that they racially gerrymandered.

Allegations are not proof.  The key point here is that two judges, both politically inclined not to find racial problems, found racial problems with the gerrymander.

I'm ignoring the batshit dumbassery of the president because my god, but @TwiceHorn is it now possible we end up with California getting more house seats and Texas not?

Want the California redistricting tied to the Texas redistricting?  As in if Texas doesn’t happen then California doesn’t happen?

Possible, yes.  In this timeline, not sure.  I think I'd be happy with the status quo.

I think the demographics and general disposition of California is that they're less likely to fuck it up than Texas.

There was a time when saying that would be laughable.  Not no mo.

Is a specific map even in place yet for them to rule on?

I thought the map was on the ballot. I just assumed there was a map, because the lawsuits already filed in Cali said it was racially biased.

Okay, let's workshop this plan:

The Trump government gives some amount of money directly to the people so they can "negotiate and buy their own, much better, insurance."

Cleetus, in Forkland, Alabama:  "Hello, Mr. United Healthcare.  I'd like to negotiate a health plan with my $2,000 annual payment from our fine President.  Also, my wife and I are both have diabeetus, and I'm recovering from ass cancer.  Whaddyu got for us?"

United Healthcare:  "Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!]

please, it'll take about 30 seconds for new medical shops to open up. '$2000 health care plans here'. walk in and get $500 cash, the shop keeps $1500. don't get sick and good luck

Well in the Texas case the DOJ said "make these 4 districts white" and then the governor said "do what the DOJ said."

Maybe California never had their governor tell the legislature "be racist" in writing.
