Which honestly feels light compared to his first term when he golfed 3x a week it felt liked.

I guess he can't do much damage while golfing. He can take as much time off as he wants.

Hotels and tourism about to take a big hit. Was talking to the chief science officer of a tissue bank at a dinner this week. He went to a fairly well known spine conference last month and there were only a handful of attendees. No international docs flew in. Usually over 100 and they bring their families to make a mini vacation out of it. I assume that is happening broadly across industries in addition to decrease in true vacation travel. So stupid and unnecessary

I work in the travel industry. International travel completely cratered.

I’ve posted on here before that my wife is currently in a grad program that is a partnership between a French business school and Parsons School of Design in NY. She’s currently in France attending in-person classes and site visits. In her cohort, she is one of two Americans. They’re supposed to have a residency in NY at Parsons this fall, but too many people in her cohort are afraid to travel to the US right now so they’re moving it to Japan.

Yeah, I've wondered that too. I'm bored on Friday during a weird holiday week so let's do a quick run to Google with a query of how likely is it that a son would be four inches (or more) taller than his father. The answer appears to be "relatively uncommon." Officially, Dotard is 6-3 and I think that might be fudging things a bit. Barron is 6-7 and still growing? Melania is 5-11. Neither of her parents are much taller than that it appears. Dotard's dad was 6-1, Junior is 6-1 and big, dumb Eric is 6-5.

I think Don, Sr wears lifts in his shoes to make him appear taller than he is.

.... while Trump was President, and Biden was unemployed.

Also, Trump spent months saying that if he lost, then it would be because democrats rigged the election (even though every poll had him losing by large amounts). Turns out, he was right! What a fortune teller this guy is!

Yep. The drop in Canadian and Japanese patients here in Hawaii has been shocking. Hotels here are scrambling.

the day we stopped treating black people like subhuman property

whoa, now.... let's not get carried away. it was the day the message was delivered in Texas, but I would say the treatment "stopped" that day.

Fair....but not entirely fair.

Subhuman?  Oh, Texas kept playing that song till....well, what time is it right now?

But the actual "property" part did end that day, as a practical matter.  So, give Texas credit for the technicality win of "fine, we can't treat them like property any more....but we can still treat them like utter shit, just watch us."  So.....hooray for enlightened Texas.

That’s something we have in common. For example, I won’t win a heisman trophy for rushing for 2,000 yards in a season, I won’t win a Pulitzer Prize for my amazing novel, I won’t win American idol.
Now, I say that’s because the world has Brisket derangement syndrome.
You may say that’s because I’ve never played college football, never written a novel, and cant sing for shit.
But we all know what’s true, at levels never seen before.

Can we just give him a jimbo style Nobel peace prize, 20__

I honestly expect the House to create some kind of prize named "Nobel" and award it to him.

Better yet can we buy him out for $77.5M?  We can raise the money by collecting just $1 from every single person who voted for him

The Noble Prize for ignobility. It's pronounced no-bell.

On the one hand, I think it is true that if it is really the best paper, it should be given the best grade/award.  On the other, a paper with a premise or thesis like that would have to be really outstanding, especially because it seems to go against the weight of scholarship.  It can't be "it has interesting, provocative ideas."

The other circumstances, a FedSoc Trump appointee perfesser and a repressive state like Florida, just take it to 11.

The professor should defend the grading rubric, absolutely.

Amusingly, Damsky's assertion or conclusion is the premise of CRT.

Big drop in tourists across the country already. The rest of this year is projected to be significantly down as well. Going to start seeing a bunch of restaurant closures as well as really cheap hotel deals even during what should be normal peak seasons. The rest of the world that can vote with their wallet as a way to give the middle finger to TFG is doing just that.
