Fine. What time do you suggest drinking at?

You can't drink all day if you don't start early.

But, think about what we are getting for it.  We are getting a certificate for a "Platinum Preferred" place in line to lick the boots of our oligarchs!  Where is YOUR spot in line, libtard?  Yeah, that's what I thought.  You losers aren't even going to GET to taste their delicious boots!

His bio makes it sound like he used to identify as a libertarian. And then he voted for Trump, huh?

nothing surprising about that...MAGA is nothing more than a coalition of techbros, nationalistic evangelicals and libertarians.

She feels betrayed for supporting the guy who promised to do mass deportations, for doing mass deportations?

That makes no sense. The only person who did any betraying was herself. She betrayed her husband.

Seriously, after a previous term as president and all this time to get to know this guy. They don't understand that to him, if you are brown and came here from another country, then you are an illegal. That makes you a criminal. You have to go. He has been pretty open about that. I know he talks like a two year old, but damn, that's on you if you don't understand that.

Whelp.  GOP’s Big Beautiful Bill wants to reduce the funding of Medicaid - and to gut Medicaid expansions.

The party of states’ rights and small federal government has a provision in the proposed bill that prohibits local governments from taxing hospitals and healthcare entities to raise taxes to support Medicaid.   It’s not enough that the federal government will cut Medicaid money - they have to make sure that local governments can’t tax anyone (so that their white boot strap money does not go to those dirty,  criminal, brown immigrants stealing all the healthcare, don’t you know?)

Stupid liberals are gonna make some noise about this, because they fail to see that all those Medicaid moochers will be working long shifts in the new factories.  Those new jobs will include healthcare.  Which means the people on Medicaid can just wait until they get those new jobs and have big beautiful private healthcare.  Like God intends.

Quote

MEDICAID CUTS TAKE SHAPE — Energy and Commerce Chair Brett Guthrie late Sunday unveiled the slice of the budget reconciliation bill that his committee is set to take up Tuesday. It appears to be an attempt at striking a compromise between GOP moderates and conservative hardliners who have been at odds over how much to cut Medicaid to help pay for the bill’s latest round of Trump tax cuts.

But it could still lead to millions losing Medicaid coverage and force states to make difficult decisions. Guthrie is declining to cap federal funding to states that have expanded Medicaid, a proposal that moderates were wary of. But the plan would limit taxes that states levy on hospitals and providers to help finance their Medicaid programs, which could lead states to cut benefits. State officials are poised to fight back.

TAX CUT QUESTIONS — Later Monday, Ways and Means Chair Jason Smith is expected to release the full details of his plan to extend Trump’s 2017 tax cuts and enact a further tax overhaul, after circulating an incomplete version Friday night. Ahead of a markup that begins Tuesday at 2 p.m., Smith is expected to brief Republican lawmakers on the details Monday at 1 p.m.

Right now, the bill appears to have a math problem. The draft that Ways and Means released Friday has an estimated $5 trillion cost, above the $4.5 trillion that Republicans permitted in their underlying budget framework.

I am no scholar on these kinds of things but I was not aware the Feds had the Constitutional power to regulate local taxes.

The Constitution left the building a while back.

They can change the way Medicaid reimbursement work and eliminate those taxes from the computations. The taxes were essentially a loophole used by states to increase the federal share of Medicaid payments. The consequences of removing this payment source will result in states cutting services as described.

i’m sure they have some say so in how you can tax people if the money is going to go to the feds.  Nothing about that law prevents the state from taxing healthcare providers to go into a fund where the state sets up its own Medicaid type program.  Which is after all what they are trying to do - get the federal government out of our lives and let the states pay for everything and do everything for its citizens.

Just think, in some bright, sunny future day it will be several Governors throwing paper towels at the crowd after a hurricane - and not POTUS.

the lack of introspection, perhaps even more than the base idiocy, is the true harbinger of our downfall.

That and logic.  Hmmm. Trump president = sales down = vote for Trump.   Dem president = sales up = hate them
