He did my ankle surgery in 93/94 somewhere in there..
When I told my parents(both UT grads and football fans) who the Dr. was, they were both like "The QB?"

He put pins in my hip in 5th grade. Great guy.

Nice.

Maybe that's his thing?  I've got 2 small plates and 6 or so screws in the ol ankle

Speaking of former QB's..Marty Akins' son was a fraternity brother of mine.  Had a nice party out at his house in Horseshoe Bay

DeMarvion Overshown turning heads.

From the Dallas Morning News:

OXNARD, Calif. — Mike McCarthy casually tossed out the names of a few players who have gotten off to strong starts in this camp while chatting with reporters after his press conference.

Some of those names will come as no surprise to fans.

Others probably will.

Let’s start with defense. The Cowboys’ head coach said veteran corner Jourdan Lewis “is having a hell of a camp’' and quickly followed by mentioning corner DaRon Bland. McCarthy loves the way the entire safety group is playing.

But the first player he mentioned on that side of the ball is linebacker DeMarvion Overshown, who is coming off a torn ACL that ended his rookie season before it began.

“Overshown jumps off the tape at you,’’ McCarthy said. “No question there.’’

It’s not a question for Micah Parsons either.

“Overshown has been unbelievable,’’ Parsons said. “I think he’s more confident and stronger than he was before he tore his ACL. He’s coming downhill, he’s being aggressive, he understand his reads.

“You can just see the confidence in him growing. He’s getting more reps with the ones. They’re ready to get him out there. “I think he’s going to have an unbelievable year.’’

Man i love swoopes. Always did what was asked of him, stayed humble, made it to the nfl, great rep of the university

A great Longhorn who quietly suffered horrible coaching more than any of us fans will ever understand.

He never should have been the QB at Texas. Or anywhere really, he was a TE prospect all the way that got misused. But that wasn't his fault, he played his career for the guy who found a way to lose a coin toss he won.
