he IS melting down, apparently terrified of getting the Charlie Kirk treatment

Pete Hegseth is reportedly “crawling out of his skin” in fear of being assassinated in the wake of the shooting death of Charlie Kirk.

The U.S. Secretary of War has been described by his staff as “manic,” frequently erupting into furious rants.

Two of the former Fox News host’s staffers told The Daily Mail that their boss’s behaviour had worsened after Kirk was killed earlier this month in Utah.

Now, Hegseth has become “obsessed” with his own security.

According to the Mail, the Army’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) has removed agents from their posts to safeguard Hegseth’s homes in Minnesota, Tennessee, and Washington, D.C.

Amazing at the misunderstanding of Trump and Pete on why general officers should never applaud like Cletus at a Arkansas MAGA rally. I imagine that they will all have to answer for their lack of enthusiasm to the message today.

I'm glad we didn't witness complete capitulation from the brass in that room, but what would have been perfect was for them to all walk out in unison. alas, a boy can dream, I guess

That might make you feel good for a few minutes. But then it would dawn on you that our last shreds of hope just outed themselves for a performative stunt. We’re well past the point of showy, high-minded resignations having any positive impact. Better to have decent people remain in place to prevent catastrophe when it approaches.

I can’t imagine this stupid ass stunt landed quite like Whiskey Pete and dotard envisioned. It probably drove home to many that this is a total clownshoes operation from the top down. The bottom line is that their incompetence will put their soldier’s lives in danger.

I want to believe that any general officer would internally be laughing at this clown show while simultaneously crying for America. But then again Michael Flynn would have been in this room at some point in the past as well, and look at him.

I recall from this history books such things as Military Coups and Juntas. It's time mother fuckers. What an absolute embarassing display from this administration. Just fucking pathetic. And not a word in Daily Texan, because criticizing calls for military targeting of American citizens on American soil and disregarding international rules of engagement is just too CR for them to handle in their safe space. Fuck everything.

I was gonna say, right or wrong, people actually liked Charlie Kirk.

Pete Hegseth could fall off the planet and it would be several days before anyone noticed.

No one is gunning for you, chief.

I think I broke my penis.

i have spent an utterly embarrassing amount of time in my life contemplating whether a three way with (volver era) penelope cruz and (match point era) scarlett johannson would be more enjoyable or a three way with (volver era) penelope cruz and (any era) monica bellucci would be more enjoyable. i have yet to come to any conclusions.

but now i'm thinking about salma and monica.

hmm.

a good day to you all.

and fuck hegseth and fuck trump.

I think they can be mutually exclusive. He doesn’t need an excuse.

That one is by far my least favorite of the three way options you listed in your post.

There is a very high chance that last night, when a few of these guys got together in small groups to share a glass of whiskey, there was a very brief comment of "we all remember our oath, right?"  They nodded, and that was that.  There MAY have been a couple of even smaller side conversations about "so, we have some ideas about what to do if we get an illegal order," but even those conversations were very short and to the point I'd suspect.

And it's absolutely this - that's not how it starts, but it's 100% how it ends.  He wants to deploy the military against Americans.

Again, let's get that very plain and straight: Donald Trump is champing at the bit to deploy the United States military, with orders to use deadly force, against Americans.

He is an existential threat to the Republic.

Posrep for "champing"
