I could have gone without seeing this. Just a reminder that my dad is mortal. These are his people.

After reading the Mike Campbell book last week and subsequently rewatching the Tom Petty documentary, both just reminded me there is a way the music business used to work. A way that worked for all of these artists.

And that old way isn’t the way it works at all anymore. Makes you wonder if any of these people would have become what they did if they had to do it in today’s world.

oh shit.

That literally may be the weirdest fucking thing I’ve ever seen. Animatronics are more lifelike. His lips seem to be mouthing the correct lyrics, which is saying something, though I’m sure no sound is actually coming out. Wow, fascinating.

Received birthday present tickets to see Bruce in Denver several years ago.  He’s one day older than my dad. He couldn’t move his joints when he came out on stage. Looked like the Tin Man from Wizard of Oz.  I told my wife “This guy might die on stage.”

And then he started playing. For three straight hours, with no breaks longer than saying a few words. It was one of the best concerts I have ever seen.

McCartney at the Ball Park in Arlington still was pretty lively several years ago despite looking pretty old in pictures around that same time.  He put on quite a show.

Crazy to think that when "The Traveling Wilburys" first came out and it seemed like all those guys were old as dirt that they were only between 37-52 years old.

Bob Dylan was 47, Jeff Lynne was 40, George Harrison was 45, Tom Petty was 37, and Roy Orbison was 52.

Had you told me then that Dylan would be one of the last two around I never would have believed it.

Lynne is 77 now.

when the Stones finally got back together to tour in 1989, Jagger and Richards were 45 years old(a decade younger than Dave Grohl is now) and the "Strollin' Bones" moniker was created...
