Floods unit is the only one we haven’t seen substantial improvement from.

We’ve gotten in this back and forth before. The 2024 line was the best one we’ve had in a long time. Yes, they struggled in certain moments but also ran over some good fronts and delivered quality pass protection almost all year relative to the athletic abilities of the guy they were protecting.

His unit has improved compared to where it was when he got here. He turned Jake Majors and Christian Jones into NFL players. We are now in the point of a roster cycle where his group will just have to have grow up quickly and includes some unknowns. We’ll see what happens.

Stay close to the house in the morning.

Dried apricots too. Did those on a hike. Barely made it to the toilet about 5 hours later

My behavior on OTF has been reported and now I'm hearing about it. I did not say a single cussword and did not call anyone a name. Several people have told me to kill myself. It's always the same shit on those sites. They're inhabited by more echeeses than anything.

I just went and caught up on the thread. It always cracks me up how lame the discussion is there.

Flood seems to want guys he’s recruited and coached, portal be damned. I’ll agree with LT that they should have stashed a tackle or two from a smaller school. So much film work goes into scouting our opponents. Surely they’ve spotted couple guys that could play for Texas.

Xfer OL are too expensive.

Its a 2 part equation of overspending on a developing player only to pay even more to have someone come start over them.

It's possible I imagined it, but I thought in one of the OTF videos they said Goosby's injury was to a finger. Not sure that squares with missing multiple practices or how that would be managed, if I heard and recall correctly

If Goosby has a finger issue he's playing at OSU. They'll tape or soft cast it up and he'll be out there. Elite linemen don't miss games with a finger issue.

Remember, everything you hear from any of these sites is what Sark wants you to hear. Maybe Neto got some 2nd string reps at tackle or maybe he didn't. It's impossible for us to know since the info we get is from people that know just as much as we do. Their only source of info from people who were there is the coaching staff.

They are legit special needs adults on there. I always feel kind of bad for Bobby and Gerry since they have to interact with them and pretend to take them seriously.

That's at minimum 3/4ths of the US population. Social media has proven the country is far dumber overall than I could have ever imagined. The percentage of people who are somewhat competent at one singular thing they work their whole life on but incompetent at everything else is astonishing.

For you, amd any who share your take:

Yes. You're right.

They will try, no doubt of that. We need to take whatever actions are needful, from the first kickoff to our hoisting of the trophy.

This is where you need the McMichaelish Studdardliest linemen on your team to make sure that anyone who lights up our QB - or even tries to - that person needs to be, shall we say, "dealt with". This needs to happen as early as possible, both from game and season perspective.

Hope we got some men on the OL who will take up this burden, and protect his guy.

Like the Ol' Ball Coach (or at least my ancient version of him) would tell us, "guys. y'all need to understand the difference between hurt and injure. We don't want to injure anybody, injury is damage, we don't want to cause damage. We want to hurt 'em, and hurt 'em bad... and bruises don't count as "damage". We want to cause pain, such like they don't want to get any more. Don't break anything, don't knock out any teeth, don't poke any eyeballs. Just make 'em give up being willing to get hit again.

I mentioned it a few weeks ago, but they did not do a very good job of getting the tackle cupboard restocked with options once it became clear Banks/Williams were potentially going to be 3-and-out players, and guys they recruited at tackle like Agbo/Kirkland were not going to be good enough to play here.

The 2024 and 2025 classes needed another tackle. But even then, I'll acknowledge they should have probably backfilled from the portal at some point, even if it was a redshirt freshman from Wake Forest or some such that was a developmental take with a little game experience. Bama took one of those this year from Ball State. It didn't need to be a frontline guy who was going to cost seven figures.

You’re thinking a guy that redshirted at Ball State then played 100 garbage snaps in year 2 will suddenly be ready for Bama?

If he’s more ready than our freshmen, it’s likely not by much.  Ourlads, which is likely not overly accurate, has him listed as 3rd team.  He’s basically a Hail Mary that would push a more talented freshman down the depth chart.

A guy willing to come in and sit 3rd team at OT is either very young, which I’d bet costs some cash, or is buried on the depth chart elsewhere, which means he’s not better than what we have.  We had Goosby/Baker/Cojoe/Brooks.  If anyone gets down to their 5th OT, they’re in trouble. And they’re likely considering moving pieces to get a G out there.

Gerry just said Goosby's injury was a hand issue - fingers caught in a jersey - could be wrapped, and goal was to get him back by beginning of next week;  could possibly be back earlier than that.

Gerry / Bobby didn't make too much of the moves - develop emergency depth - then wondered whether Sark would actually move Neto to LT in a game, if required.  (If Goosby went down - just a hypothetical, people, nothing to do with the hand injury!)

Speculated about whether Robertson could be the sixth-best OL (and so bringing him in causing the ripple effect on others ...).

Gerry thought the depth at center was the best he had seen (or something positive to that effect).

according to this site, LT is the highest paid position in the NFL. That is because they are so hard to find. LTs are not just lying around CFB at small schools. If someone spots them it will be a complete bidding war.

I think Wisner was solid and he played his ass off for Texas. I dont think he will be confused with Bijan or Brooks. He also was forced to carry too much of the load, which really hurt him down the stretch. Lot of it was just a lack of capable bodies

OK, but besides all of that, he Wrecked aggie and made them submit. That kid is a boss.

So, I guess it’s now known Goosby is a problem for OSU but at least we are all taking it well.
my take- if Arch is a dude OL isn’t all that important.

We are, without any doubt, the most depressing, self-loathing, but also the absolute hilarious group of morons on the internet. This board never ceases to amaze me, but God damn if it's not fucking hilarious. You dweebs, myself included, are on another level of self-awareness, but also moronic, and amazingly somehow sentient beings on the web.

I absolutely love each and every one of you for making me laugh every single day.

Gerry said he got "caught in a jersey." Dislocated finger? Doesn't seem like that would keep him off the field.

Action One would be don’t run the option where the entire purpose is to entice someone to hit you and not the guy you’re pitching to. And, yes, the Studdard approach is a thing, but it’s scant consolation if your QB is planted and out of the game.

The offense will be way better if he’s a threat to run and he does so. I think it makes sense to do it in a way where he can protect himself in a way that effectively running an option play really doesn’t provide for. That’s it. There are better ways to take advantage of what he can do with less risk, imo. Others seem to think he should be out there selling the keeper until someone launches at him, otherwise why the option at all. I suspect Sarkisian will do whatever he does without reference to the opinions here.

Jesus, I've seen guys play with full casts and use them as clubs.  Come on, a dislocated finger?  If that's it, he's playing.

Which is exactly what Sark said when the injury first happened, yet for some reason this board decided to circlejerk itself into a frenzy just to have something to talk about, I suppose. We need it to be 8/30 already desperately.

They are probably letting swelling go down then casting it into killer club before next week.
