Charlie Kirk assassinated at an event in Utah (by a 22 YO groyper)

Why did we need DEI in the first place? Did Charlie Kirk have any profound thoughts on that?
And why does DEI make him suspicious... specifically of black people? He's still saying that these people got their position because of some racial quota he made up in his head. If anything the first part of his comment is what's taken out of context, not the latter part.

Is that literally not the point of it? Not trying to be an ass.

Why would there be a "white person's slot" but for systematic exclusion of non-whites from the spots in question?

For the longest time, there was nothing but "white person's slots."

I'd love to know their solutions for alleviating the effects of centuries of racial discrimination and preferential treatment.

The answer is obvious.  We need more systemic mechanisms like “legacy” and “good boy networks” to make sure mediocre WM are not passed up.  I mean just look at our president.   If he hadn’t had such mechanisms in place he would not have been able to attend an Ivy League college, get multiple deferrments from draft, and we might have a more qualified person in office.  All his children are mediocre at best but are multimillionaires or billionaires based on these non-meritocratic systems which is why people like echub are so upset about it and just wants to make sure the most qualified people are….. oh wait.

My family is pissed off that I said I hope POTUS and Veep deliver a unifying message and not blame and finger pointing.

“Took a white persons slot”

Explain that one.

For someone that says Kirk didn’t care about race or skin color, he sure seems to talk a lot about it. Hmmmmmmm

To believe that he's not truly a racist, you have to believe one of the following:

1) He knows his audience and the buttons and dog whistles for his public persona to hit to drive viewership, create viral moments and controversy, and make him more money.

2) He's a moron and doesn't fully grasp the dog whistles he's putting out into the world [see: Trump, Donald], but he (or his handlers) know to play the hits.

Is either option really make it better?
