Coaches don't care about that. UF is in worse shape administratively.  Kiffin doesn't care about that, $12-$15M per year with that recruiting ground and base, he'd kill it there imo.

in the 12 team playoff era you have to be at a blue blood or tier 2 team to win a championship. The days of surprise national champions is over and Kiffin seems to know this. Beating 3-4 teams in a row with better talent will prove impossible for the Ole Miss/Indianas of the world.

Here are a list of teams capable of putting together a playoff season and winning that many games in a row.

Alabama

Georgia

Ohio State

Michigan

Notre Dame

Texas

Oklahoma

Potential additions with the correct hire-

Miami

Tennessee

Penn State

Oregon

USC

Florida

Florida State

Gotta disagree with this, even as a known skeptic of a 10-14 ranked team winning (will happen eventually but not likely).

The math alone— giving 12 versus 2 or 4 teams a chance at a post-season NC opens the door for a non-blue blood. And it’s easier to get hot and win three than to emerge from a 12 game season with 0-1 losses, so that’s additional cushion for a team to get losses out of the way early. Plus, in the two and four team format name played a bigger role in post season invites.

The top half of this year’s bracket will include three non-blue-bloods most likely. (A&M, IU, Tech). Eventually a team like that will break through.

Only winning 3 conference championships in the last 25 years should not warrant a spot on that top list.

And all 3 will get rolled in one of the first 2 rounds when Georgia/Ohio St/Alabama come along. Those teams can not stack 2nd and 3rd level talent like the blue bloods have always been able to do. Great teams have been left out in the past and allowed an Auburn or Washington or Georgia Tech to win but now that those teams have to win 3 games in a row will be near impossible,

If we had a competent OC we win last year and play for a championship in 23.

Good hire.

It is bc it’s the ACC. He can dominate with a good record and they will always be in the mix.

Good hire.

And makes harder for Penn state to recruit in the MD-VA area where they have historically pulled a lot of talent from.

Oh so it’s a list of teams that would be great with great coaching?  I agree then we’ve always charted well in what ifs.

And another. Since it's gotten to this point of public disclosures or even leaks doesn't that mean the relationship is fractured? Not sure how this hits the press unless Kiff has already all but decided he's gone. I'd take Florida over LSU.

LSU is definitely the best of the available jobs. Louisiana talent is no joke. Coaches only care about resources and how big their payday will be.

Surly last week: anybody would be crazy to take that job with that dumpster fire going on

Surly now: Kiffin would be crazy not to take that job despite that dumpster fire going on

Have you ever been to Olive Branch? I wouldn't want to go there either.

We just stayed there for our road trip.

I'm honestly not sure if it exists for any reason except for a cheap hotel just south of the Tennessee border.

We did find a place serving "the best Irish food in Olive Branch" without a single "Irish" menu item aside from fish and chips.

F'ing DeSantis went to the Florida-Ole Miss game. I thought we had a leg up because he had stayed out of it up until now.

Nailed it. I had to visit a facility in Olive Branch last year and the highest recommendation I got for dinner was a place called Mugshots. The clientele matched the name.

Really good hire by VTech.
More laid back than a Penn State and you are in a great recruiting area, (at least it use to be)

Yeah, he’ll do really well in the ACC. His main recruiting rival is Rich Rod and the ACC schedule will always be an easy path to 8-10 wins which will keep Hokies happy.

Ole Miss trying to squeeze Kiffin is bizarre, and demonstrates Ole Miss’ crippling insecurity. You’re lucky to have him. Enjoy the ride. Match any offer.

This shotgun wedding shit I only goin to backfire.

VaTech made their absolute best hire possible. Franklin will easily average 9 wins a year, and he’ll zero in on DMV recruiting. With some modest NIL support, he should kill there.

I’m interested to see franklins contract. Wonder if it will be structured to maxmize that buyout from Penn St to give more to Nil?

Um, isn’t he under contract? I understand they would like to know sooner than later if he's leaving. But they aren’t in any position to be demanding anything?

Anyone but me beginning to think Lane is supremely talented but has been dialed in these past years simply so he can get back to a really big job and flame out in a spectacular way?

Yeah, I think he's used to coasting by on talent and, in the beginning of his career, Dad's contacts, and is not a fan of the little organizational details.  He'd have some success here but would also drive this board bat shit crazy by not having some simple thing buttoned down that would cost us a game. Something like being prepared for onside kicks...

Also if all the board innuendo is remotely true, then I don't think you hire Joey freshwater as the replacement.

Man, truly sucks when your HC is borking the best season ever by basically checking out at the key moment to flirt with major rivals’ coaching gig. As an Aggie I’m really glad I haven’t gone through that in the past two years.

I've been waiting for that fucking buffoon to stumble into the proceedings and outjackass his colleagues. Maybe he's just waiting for his new boots with the 14 inch heels to arrive.

Not being absolutely weird as fuck helps when it comes to convincing people not to get the fuck out of there.
