Those “tribes” were identified as “Trump Boosters,” “Die-hard Trumpers,” “Post-Trump G.O.P.,” “Never Trump,” and “Infowars G.O.P.” The latter group, among other things, was described as viewing QAnon conspiracy theories favorably and believing in many of them.

According to the data, some 57 percent of Republicans polled said they would support Mr. Trump in an election again. That’s a strong majority, but nowhere near the job approval that he enjoys among all Republicans polled, which was 88 percent.

Among the groups, according to the survey, there were some distinctions in terms of how they viewed Trump.

The group identified as “Die-hard Trumpers” — supporters of the former president who would back him in a hypothetical primary regardless of who else was running but who don’t believe in QAnon conspiracy theories — comprised 27 percent of the Republican voters surveyed. Another 28 percent comprised the “Trump Boosters,” Republicans who said they approve of how Mr. Trump did his job, but only a slight majority of them support him being the nominee again, and they are more supportive of the Republican Party than Mr. Trump personally.

The “Never Trump” Republicans comprised 15 percent of the Republicans surveyed. Another 20 percent were described as “Post-Trump G.O.P.,” who like Mr. Trump but want to see someone else as the party’s nominee.

The “Infowars G.O.P.” voters, named for the conspiracy-laden news outlet that was founded by Alex Jones, comprised 10 percent of the voters surveyed, far from a majority but a significant enough portion of voters that, in a multicandidate primary, could play a factor. Only 13 percent of all the voters surveyed believed in QAnon conspiracy theories, the poll showed, but 69 percent of the “Infowars G.O.P.” voters backed those theories.

We are re-living the first half of the 20th century.

Wait, within 15 seconds, he said it would go from killing our kids, to harming our kids.  If I listen further, does he eventually capitulate and say, "It's gonna inconvenience your kids" to "It's gonna make your kids eat fructose and want to play video games...you know the basic state sports of Nebraska."

Silly mormons. Porn is for kids.

the only thing more taboo than step-family porn is porn that's illegal in Utah.  So I'm guessing every porn site is gonna have 1000 videos on the default page tagged as, "So illicit...it can only be shown in Park City and Moab."  And yeah, I'll click on it.

Church of Christ, oh how I adore thee.
Y'all make Baptists look like party animals. If there are worse places on Earth tan Abilene, TX and Sparta, TN, I don't want to know about them.
I've always said they are one step above Mennonite. They're one more Restoration Movement away from special clothing and isolated communities.

A not insignificant number of “Christians” believe that the practice of yoga in any form is the practice of a non-Christian religion, because of its roots. And while they are whole heartedly in support of religion in schools, there is that little caveat that Christianity is the only acceptable religion because why should children be exposed to differing cultures or viewpoints than their home?

This entire country needs to be force-reminded what Separation of Church and State actually means.

^

I believe you, but do you have any links or articles that support that? I can see some nutjob families thinking that way, but I've never heard any anti-yoga shit espoused by churches/organized faiths.  But then, it's 2021 so who knows?

My wife's family is pretty hardcore Catholic, and they're very skeptical of other faiths and brown people, but as clean-living rural folk...even they are like, "Yeah, we probably need to do more stretching..."

This is just one feather in their cap of ignorance and theological enforcement. It takes many forms but it’s absolutely what is going on here. It’s fucking Alabama for fucks sake, where “namaste” translates into the native tongue as “allahu akbar”.

That's just shitty marketing.  You don't open with talk of hell, corruption of children, misery, crime, and despair.  And then close with orgies and wild parties.  Totally flip-flopped that shit.  Who were the ad wizards who came up with this one?

Yeah, I'll take a little misery and despair if wild parties and orgies come with it.  Hell, I get the first part already.  I'm married.

Reminds me of the old Lewis Grizzard joke: What the difference between Baptists and Methodists? Methodists will wave at each other in liquor stores.

again, the one thing conservatives / republicans in this era are really good at is lying.  they lie to each other and also to themselves.  they lie about what they are, they lie about why they do things, they lie non-stop about the dumbest, most easily disproved things.

I know you guys are mocking the governor of Nebraska but consider this: why did they have to close all of the schools in Canada, smart guys?  Because all the kids died there after weed was legalized two years ago.  It's true. If you go to Canada you won't see anybody under the age of about 16 or so.  They had to buy extra forklifts to haul the bodies away outside the marijuana shops.
