ooops. well i missed seeing Charles Barkley on the list. I know he was considered conservative in say 2001, but now?

  • However, in 2006, he altered his political stance, stating "I was a Republican until they lost their minds."
  • In July 2007, he made a video declaring his support for Barack Obama in the 2008 presidential election.
  • IN 2014, Barkley declared himself an Independent and not a Democrat as previously reported. "The Republicans are full of it", Barkley said, "The Democrats are a little less full of it."

I remember Charles Barkley telling a story:

"I told my mama that I was a Republican. She said 'Charles, Republicans are only for rich people.' I said 'Ma, I'm rich.'"

Denzel is on that list. I don't think that's accurate. he's very Christian (like, a real one, with extensive philanthropy and such) and he's very critical of MSM...but rumors of him leaving the democratic party were debunked years ago. that list is pretty suspect.

Are you putting me on? It wasn’t a game. Games have unpredictable outcomes. It was a play. It was theater. They don’t call it reality tv because it’s reality. They call it that because it’s a simulation. It presents itself as reality but it’s not.

They don’t shoot multiple takes and splice together the final product in the editing room for game shows. The producers don’t know before the day’s shoot who the winners and losers are going to be on a game show. The Apprentice wasn’t remotely a game show. It was a game show like professional wrestling is a sport.

Lorne likely makes the list because he's donated to both GOP and Democratic candidates. He gave to the late John McCain but also donated to Obama. He gave to Susan Collins of Maine as well.

I'm pretty sure James Cagney isn't a Maga-republican.

That IMDB list - those are the conservative celebrities?  Many of those listed are dead.  Two of them are Mike Lindell.  And this is the second entry on that list:

You know - that guy from Venom - who played (checks notes) "Neighborhood Couple (uncredited)".  Here are his other roles since then:

Spoiler

Spider-man franchise!  Transformers franchise!  Matrix franchise!  He's had uncredited parts in some of the best!  And has become an American Icon in such society-defining roles as Tourist (uncredited), Trolley Tourist (uncredited), and Local (uncredited)!

Kurt Russel??!!??!! NOOOOOOOOOO..........

This isn't that surprising. He's a "libertarian," and grew up as a kid in the Disney wholesome world when that actually ment something. He's also a huge gun guy. Then again, he moved to Canada so, maybe that's rubbed off on him.

Is there a single under 40 female still voting GOP at this point? Can these incels make it any more clear that they hate you and would rather "punish" you than live in a world where they'll never get to fuck you?

You can't distance these nutjobs from the party anymore; they are the voice of the party. Just an angrier, slightly more repressed voice than the old, white, "moral" Republicans we're accustomed to.

So, Taylor, by leaving Big Machine and re-recording her old albums, thereby depriving Soros’s son of the best part of the asset he just bought into, is somehow a Soros plot?

She is the most favorably viewed celebrity or politician in America. Viewed positively by every group, even Republicans. It was two months ago, so after all the conservative negative news coverage, she is probably under water with Republicans now; but, probably not by that much.

Quote

Pop star Taylor Swift notched the highest net favorability rating of any figure tested in the latest NBC News national poll, with 40% of registered voters saying they have a positive view of Swift, versus only 16% holding a negative opinion.

Seventeen percent of those surveyed reported having “very positive” views of Swift, while 22% had “somewhat positive” views.

Meanwhile, just 9% reported having “very negative” views, with 7% saying they have “somewhat negative” views of her.

Swift is overwhelmingly well-known among voters. Ninety-four percent recognized her name when they were asked about her.

How voters rate Taylor Swift

Percentage: Positive - Neutral - Negative

All registered voters 40%-39-16

Men 34-42-17

Women 44-36-15

Ages 18-34  41-41-16

Ages 35-49  43-37-17

Ages 50-64  36-42-15

Ages 65+     40--36-14

White  39-39-16

Black 47-41-10

Latino 43-37-16

Democrats 53-36-5

Independents  34-46-13

Republicans 28-41-26

Notes: NBC News poll of 1,000 registered voters conducted from Nov. 10 - Nov. 14 with a margin of error of +/- 3.1%.

Source: NBC News poll

Among all of the figures and groups tested in the poll — including President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, new House Speaker Mike Johnson, former President Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley — Swift had the highest net favorability rating.

Shit, that's right.  I forgot in my middle-age.  There was the Firebird with the V6, and then the V8 was the same body basically but called the Trans-Am.  And the weird thing was the Firebird didn't have the bird painted on it, but the Trans-Am did (which looked cool as fuck in the aspirated venting on the hood).  Like there was the Camaro and the Z28, (V6 & V8 respectively).  We had a running joke in Chicago, where there were apparently a few Italian fellows (or one million), that the IROC-Z shoulda been called the IWOP-Z.  It was the first mass-production car that had that batshit stupid drag kit that had the front/back ends and side rails that barely stayed off the ground.  And you'd see those things get stuck in the snow all the time because there wasn't enough clearance.  But light a cigarette, pop your leather jacket collar, and you were still good to go.  I can see that metallic purple paint job in my head still.  /nohomo

To keep in thread track, I don't care for this Trump fellow one bit...

The levels of Firebird were Espirit which is what Rockford invented the J turn in, then the Formula was the next level up. (I’m here because my Mom liked my dad’s two tone blue 79 Formula Firebird, then the Trans-Am at the top for beer to Atlanta from Texarkana. (I get that is been covered but Firebirds are an important part of our culture)

I’m guessing like 60-70% of female nurses. How close am I? I’m basing this entirely on the amount of anti vax nurses we encountered during Covid.

In my experience it depends on the type of nurse a person is. Overall I'd say it's about 50/50.

That's almost as bad as Oklahoma's state department of ed appointing the Libs of TikTok creator to the library advisory council.

An announcement in Oklahoma sent shockwaves through educational and political circles when the person behind the anti-LGBTQ+ social media account Libs of TikTok was appointed to a government position.

Chaya Raichik, the figure behind the contentious account, has been appointed to the Oklahoma State Department of Education’s Library Media Advisory Committee. The appointment—met with intense criticism—has intensified political debates due to Raichik’s lack of educational background, her involvement in stirring controversies, and concerns around stochastic terrorism.

State Superintendent Ryan Walters, a Republican, announced Raichik’s appointment on last week, praising her as being on the “front lines” against what he called “the radical left’s” agenda in schools.

Quote

The Library Media Advisory Committee, to which Raichik has been named, aims to “remove pornographic or sexualized content” from public school libraries. This committee operates voluntarily, offering no pay for its members, all appointed by Walters, Oklahoma public radio station KOSU reports.

Per the state education department, the committee’s composition includes parents, active and retired librarians, and English literature teachers.

How old was TS in that video?  Like 26?   She is now in her mid 30's, has since released like a 100 #1 albums in a row,  raked in a billion dollars or so, and become as popular as the Beatles.  She is 400X more confident now and is not gonna meekly stand around like when she was 18 and Kanye upstaged her.  This is her reaction during the Golden Globes when the host  told a very very soft joke about her.   Magats wanna start shit then they need to prepare their collective anuses.

I'm uncertain how many football fans are really pissed off about the Taylor Swift/NFL coverage but I do know the Venn chart would overlap completely with the same guys who get pissed off about football safety rules changes or players talking politics.  Their opinions ignore players who don't know their own names by 50, or they ignore conservatives players/entertainers who mimic their own political beliefs.

I don't know how old she was when that clip was filmed, but the convo between her and her father there--he's so worried, but she won't let him talk over her because she understands how easy it would be to step back and do nothing. With her status and privilege and wealth, one could argue she is not taking as extreme a risk as some of her fans (for simply existing) but that she is galvanizing people (on the right side of history as she stated) to vote, to speak up, to not allow the hate machine to silence the right to exist and live life with the freedoms that are the right of everyone, not just the chosen few--that will register with those who wish to concentrate and retain the power of oppression. Good for her; may she have many allies in the fight.

What she demonstrated in that video clip is that she has at least a modicum of conscience, and a modicum of courage.

Those are two attributes that are utterly at odds with the MAGAverse.  They loathe both of them.  ESPECIALLY in a woman.  That's where we are.

There's a guy here in town; has a lifted Ram diesel brodozer.   Trump stickers on the back glass with his A&M decals; has flown a trump flag off of his bumper hitch from time to time.  Pretty much what you picture.

Except this week, he has a Chiefs flag flying off the bumper hitch.  Either he's super conflicted or he is clueless about the whole Swift/Kelce/NFL story.

I found the dichotomy hilarious.

That makes sense.

The Chiefs are winners and it's in the nature of aggy to hitch their wagon to a winner to ride the tail coat to a championship.
