I'm off the edge a little bit. Maybe Kellen Moore really is a genius. He came from a pretty open offense at Boise. I also thought he was younger than 29, seems like he just came out of Boise. If this is where we're heading, Garrett damn well better let him open up the playbook and not overrule him with the same predictable crap over and over again. Dak's in his fourth year, the o-line should be better next year if Frederick returns, we have the rushing champ and a dynamic WR1. There is no reason we shouldn't have a prolific offense if Moore is allowed to open up the offense so we can pound it on the ground and sling it strategically like the Rams and Saints.

I'm not happy about handing him the reins, if they do, but I'm willing to keep an open mind about his ability to do something well other than actually play the position, which was due mostly to his physical limitations that everybody but the Cowboys knew were totally inadequate for NFL success.

Shitty players sometimes make good coaches. But I'm not terribly optimistic at this point. Seems like some new fresh outside ideas could have been beneficial, like they did on the defensive side bringing in Richard that seemed to pay off well. It doesn't instill great hope that Moore was the pet project of the guy who needed to be gone already.

A proven QB guru that has shown some coaching talent and experience beyond the high school level seems like it would have been a more obvious choice to try to build on Dak's game.

Beasley's complaining is non-sensical.  He's broken down in 2 of last 3 seasons.  We stood behind he guy when he was having mental and anxiety issues and didn't know if he wanted to play the game.  Have no idea what he's complaining about other than it seems what all receivers complained about the last 5 years here and that was Linehan.

A receiver complaining about not getting the ball?  Thats a first.  He had 87 targets this year, not sure why he's complaining now.  He just wants to be paid.  I have no problem with letting a 29 year old Beasley walk.

Appreciate what Beasley has done in the past, but honestly he’s isn’t that good. It’ll be good to see him leave and give more opportunities to younger guys

Dude Cole Beasley is really fucking good. Don’t kid yourself. That said, let him walk. His attitude has been shit for awhile. It just isn’t worth it anymore.

I have no love for Jerry but Cole can kick rocks.

He's a mouthy prima donna for a #3 possession/slot receiver -- and his wife sucks too. Later, Bease.

It's best to not be too optimistic about the Cowboys. Maybe it will all magically come together some year, but this is still the House That Jerry Built.

I'll believe in Moore when he delivers and not one second before.

I take the same approach. Just be a realist and appreciate the small victories.

Honestly, fuck it, let’s see what Moore brings to the table. We’ve already seen how the conservative approach plays out, so let’s take the unorthodox route.

I dunno. I guess I’m with you, but if he would have put this all to a dope beat and released this as a hip-hop song, I would have definitely wanted to re-sign him. Missed opportunity really.

If our plays and routes are so simple that the front office determines who gets the ball, then no wonder offense is so garbage. Just kidding.

the reality is tho, that our offense was just abysmal and did nothing overly creative to get guys the ball. It also ended up being to predictable. I don’t think the offense will be much better with Jason calling plays. We already heard earlier this year the Giants knew all of our play calls and audibles. Jason isn’t gonna change the entire playbook. It’ll be a lot of the same. Hopefully we just get better down and instance calls. We’ve seen Jason calling plays as a HC before and it didn’t work. Not sure why this will be different.

It appears Garrett may not be calling the plays.  The idea is based on a Mort tweet which said he may be much more involved in play calling.  Mort breaks nothing these days so the idea may simply be he is much more involved in gameday prep during the week and takes more control over some high leverage calls like 3/4th and 1's and RZ stuff but the thought is Moore or Nuss, whoever gets the promotion will be primary play caller.  At this point, I think we know Nussmeier has been a mediocre (at best) playcaller in college so if those are the choices, I'd probably just roll the dice with the wunderkid, cross your fingers, and hope.  Ideally, we'd have a real OC and if they like Moore that much, he'd remain the QB coach or take another offensive position to learn like WR coach.  I'm not really thrilled with a rookie OC and almost - rookie OL (although not technically) coach....

I never guzzled the Cole Beasley Kool Aid, though he has come through in a few big games here and there. He seems like the offensive version of Jeff Heath. His sub 700 yards receiving and 3 TDs shouldn't be that difficult to replace and upgrade...for any other team.

you’ll see how good he is in 2019 with an actual quarterback throwing him the ball.

Travis Frederick on Moore.... he's a fan.  Also, in Hawaii, Moore is running the offense down there so I'm going to just guess it's Moore with Nuss getting some more money and say in game planning, maybe some sort of title and Garrett being more involved overall including on gamedays.

Great, now every team in the NFC will know our playbook, not just the Rams and Seafecals.

Can't wait to see what Goodell has in store for this...

EZEKIEL ELLIOTTALLEGED ALTERCATION W/ CELEB DJ... Dak Played Peacemaker

Quote

Ezekiel Elliott was involved in an altercation with a HUGE celebrity DJ in Vegas early Monday morning -- with the DJ going off about the incident on video after the fact ... and it's intense.

But, sources connected to Zeke tell us ... the Cowboys star is adamant he wasn't the one in the wrong.

Here's what we know for sure ... Zeke and Dak Prescott were partying at Drai's After Hours at The Cromwell Hotel and Casino where DJ Franzen was hanging out.

DJ Franzen is a huge force in hip-hop -- he's tight with guys like Jay-Z, T.I. and Big Sean ... and Drake even gave him TWO shout-outs in TWO different songs ("The Motto" and "Elevate").

Sources connected to Franzen tell us ... he walked over to say hi and that's when Elliott and some of his crew got aggressive and things started to pop off.

One Franzen source tells us ... Dak walked over to the DJ and attempted to smooth things over -- but it was already too late ... Franzen felt disrespected and decided to go off on social media.

"Can you believe Ezekiel Elliott tried to pick a fight with me?!" Franzen said in an IG video first spotted by SportsGossip.com ... "Man, F*CK THE COWBOYS!!!"

"Get the f*ck up out of Vegas man," he added ... "You are never allowed in my section again, you little bitch."

He finished with this message -- "If y'all know Ezekiel Elliott, you tell em DJ Franzen said 'F*ck you ... you little bitch ass motherf*cker.'"

Our Zeke sources tell a different story ... claiming Franzen came over in an aggressive manner and was talking trash about the Cowboys.

One source put it this way, "He was trying to provoke Zeke."

Whoever was at fault, one thing's for sure -- don't expect these guys to be hanging out in Vegas together any time soon.

I heard some accounts that the DJ was playing songs he had dubbed in “Fuck the Cowboys” and shit like that, was on the mic screaming ‘Fuck the Cowboys’ and other shit, and calling out Zeke at the club.   Sean Lee was supposedly there with them as well.   I highly doubt this was an altercation, and is this 49er mega fan DJ trying to garner more attention to himself.

Absolutely. Nothing to see here but some douchebag DJ trying to rile up Zeke and making this a story. I'm pretty sure nothing went down at all.

Sean should have kicked his ass then and knocked out his teeth.... what's the NFL gonna do to him?  He either retires or if he gets suspended, fights it until his inevitable hammy pull and sits out while he would have been injured anyway.

I would have supported that. But we all know Sean is not wired that way.

Nothing tougher than a "dj" going to social media to call someone out.  Further proof that the world is not changing for the better.  This is one of the dumbest stories I've ever heard.

Now get off my lawn.

roger goo-dell doesn’t think it’s dumb.  zeke may not play again til 2020.
