I like how when Mr. Peepers finally throws an actual punch at Middle-Aged Gray-Jacket Guy, he manages to put his own ass down on the ground.

That idiot should be arrested, tried, convicted and sentenced to at least 2 years in prison. No more quarter for these assholes. Send a message.

"Caleb has peacefully passed on.“

Somehow, I don’t think so. Choking on lung fluid for hours, or days, isn’t my idea of a peaceful passing.

At least ole Caleb died owning the libs.

Seriously though, drowning would be a much better death. Only lasts a minute or so and you probably can’t even feel it.

He dead.

I think a part of the anti-mask rage is inability to absorb that something bad and different is happening. If you act as if everything is OK, then it must be OK. If you see other people taking precautions, they are breaking the protective spell.

Kind of like an even more naive version of religion.

Nonsense.  Knowing that you're owning the libs brings you the highest sense of peace.

Similar to basic math, history and English, basic critical thinking and philosophy should start to be taught in the 4th grade in its own class. 6th grade at the latest. While in the past that would have been optimal, if not necessary, the net has made that both necessary and mandatory.

Our 9yo started showing some symptoms this afternoon. Called Walgreens, CVS and a few others and nobody can get her in today. ARC said it could be days. Is at home our best bet?

I'm sorry.

Masking and "corn teen" is the best. Buy a take home test at CVS. Get the ball rolling.

In the District of Columbia, we have free take home tests available at all the libraries. Results are emailed at @ 24 hours after drop off. I have a couple of tests in my kitchen.

MIAMI – Authorities took a man into custody at Miami International Airport after a violent attack on several airport employees.

Police later said that man was a military veteran who was going into some form of crisis. After being taken into custody, Miami-Dade police said the man was brought to a treatment center for evaluation.

The incident was captured by several people on their cell phones. It happened Friday night at Miami International Airport.

The man could be seen in the video trying to enter an American Airlines gate in Terminal D.

In one video, the man is seen picking up a security post and swinging it at bystanders, including airport staff.

Witnesses told Local 10 News they believe the man was intoxicated.

A Local 10 viewer said just before this confrontation, the man entered the women’s restroom near gate D23 and got into a physical altercation with his girlfriend. The viewer said the man was then denied boarding on the flight due to his aggressive and possibly Intoxicated behavior.

Photos obtained by Local 10 News show what witnesses said is the man on a medical stretcher outside the airport, surrounded by officers.

While the incident took place in Terminal D, authorities said they took the man into custody near the baggage claim.

Since Jan. 1, 2021, the FAA has received approximately 3,889 reports of unruly behavior by passengers, but the majority of those have been mask violations.

American Airlines released a statement on Saturday regarding the incident, saying in part:

“When traveling with us, we expect all customers to follow our policies and we will not tolerate violence of any kind toward our team members. We thank our MIA team for their quick action and professionalism to ensure the safety of our customers and fellow team members.”

If you or someone you know is a military veteran in distress, resources are available at

www.ptsd.va.gov.

Not too much of a stretch to believe he was going through a breakdown.  I hope he gets help.

Perfect metaphor for COVID. Most of us learning to get along and figure shit out. The loudest voices who want to “get back to normal” refusing to do even the smallest thing that would allow that.

Here’s what should have happened:

Prof: Hi, campus police? I have a student who’s refused twice to mask.

Police: Ma’am, I’ll need your student ID. My partner and I will escort you off campus. Stuff in your dorm? Movers will ship it. Car? Pick it up at the towing facility. No, you may not re-enroll. And I’m afraid the registrar will have a permanent hold on your transcript, so don’t call to have credits transferred. It seems we made a mistake in admitting you.

In reality she will turn this incident into a winning campaign for a House seat.

Nothing much to report on the Juco front. Staff masked up pretty solid. One class where it trends older students, solid as well. I've got a half-dozen regulars out of 15 on the roll, we spread out in an auditorium properly masked, with more than 6' of space.

The ones I have to watch are the non-fully-developed frontal-lobe kids in an intro class who were in High School yesterday. They'll cheerfully do anything I ask them to. They also won't think about the virus 5 seconds before I show up or 5 seconds after I send them off. Because the virus only enters the room when the teacher does.

I must be a good actor because instead of channeling my true Streetcar Named Desire alcoholic rage when walking in on a bunch of them chin-strapping it and yacking away, I instead calmly explain what we are doing and why we are doing it, they mask up, and I add that if they want, when we aren't in the building, they can spread out and take them off. Then we go outside (where oddly, some of the inside-unmasked become outside-masked,) have class, then I turn them loose.

And watch them go sit together in a couple of cars, together, still unmasked.

At this point I figure the hour that I have them is the one hour they are getting less exposure.

I don't like masks either, so I chill between classes on a bench out front. You'll see every variant of behavior as people walk in. I mind my own classes, unless I see something spectacular like a chin-strapper about to enter the little elevator.

In any case, it's starting to get a little more normal, where I have things like students ask me multiple times via email when a 5-minute assignment watching two videos is due.

Last week I received an email that one of my students tested positive and would be in isolation. Usually they isolate for 10 days, but their isolation was only for 4 days. The reasoning was that the student had been experiencing symptoms for a week and a half so isolation could end early.

My attendance policy is don’t come if you feel sick; just email me telling me you’re sick. I don’t want a doctor’s note or anything, just an email and no disease vector sitting in front of me. This isn’t even a hard class.

It can be hard to get students to come to class, but give them COVID and they’re Mr. and Miss perfect attendance.

Today I snapped and put this on Facebook. The last 12 hours has been me, 2MDs and 2 PhD UTHSC nursing professors vs. An ivermectin taking CPA and some refinery workers.

Literally watching my oldest friend, who has a fucking MD from Johns Hopkins get dog piled by SE TX rednecks.

It is the new normal to see the jackalopes kicking the bucket every damn day. The q-Covidians are putting on quite a display of hubris. They are going down with the ship and taking others with them.
Death cultish tactics often lead to Death culty outcomes.

Well, HPISD had their hearing and a bunch of folks got up and spoke — most are viciously anti-maxSK — and then the district decided to make no changes and hid behind the “law” as put forth by Abbott. Disgusting display.

It feels right to point out that, as usual, surly was leading the way with our own fucking quacks, months ahead of this game. Too bad they didn't stick around.
