Health Insurance is another.  It's a fucking clusterfuck currently in no small part because the GOP completely abdicated and refused to work on a federal solution because socialism or some shit.

let's take just this one topic.

slorch, how do you respond to the fact that 45 cents of every healthcare dollar in the united states does not get spent on actual healthcare?

America (after watching 'the Irishman' and Election Week):  "Thank you Philadelphia!"

Thank you for the post, and this is just one Philadelphian's opinion...most people here are well aware that we didn't save democracy or beat Trump. It was a timing quirk and more importantly, a result of republican voter suppression attempts that allowed the Philly ballots to finally put the state of PA in the blue a few days after the election. We also can't forget that PA was a huge reason we had Trump in 2016, and it could happen again.

Still, it was a great few days up here. Great weather, Dancing Grittys, Elmo, dancing mailboxes, and then the unexpected gift of a press conference at Four Seasons Total Landscaping, next to a sex toy store in an obscure neighborhood far from Center City. Still feels good.

I continue to belief this is incredibly dangerous. I don't really see an exit for Trump and the Republicans pushing this BS. They're not going to wake up one morning and say "well, after looking into, there was no fraud." And they know they're lying. When was the last time half the country believed the president was illegitimate? Lincoln?

Cruz and Graham like the weasels they are have decided to go this route in an attempt to get the trumpkin vote in 2024.

I can't wait for the moment when Trump realizes he's done and drops all pretenses with Evangelicals. Then they will see just how snowed they were. Meanwhile, an actual church going, follower of Jesus is sworn in. You know, the person they want to demonize.

trump was sent by god to test 'evangelicals' and they failed !

Lulz, Trump is golfing again today. Normal behavior for someone who thinks a coup has just taken place.

I'm fine with that. He can do less damage on the golf course. I expect him to play 5 times a week from here on out.

One of those guys lives down the street from me. In a double wide. And I haven't seen his truck leave the curb all week. I've driven by it several times getting beer this week.

*** the reason a double wide is down the street from me is that our neighborhood borders a duplex hood... which borders a doublewide hood... which borders a main road that has a gas station that has the beer that I like.

Your trailer’s got a cedar deck bordered with a cool longhorn-shaped light string.

Nobody is judging.

I can't wait until Trump realizes his time's up and starts rage tweeting all the dirt he has on other republicans.

God, I hope so.  But once he does that, it no longer will have any effect.

He probably will hold on to it until his death bed and continue to use it for whatever advantage he can get.

His response: That is as good as it will ever be. Doing anything about it will just make it worse.

Seriously, that is his belief. It is idiotic. And that is putting it nicely.

They'll never, ever admit they were wrong.

Gotta love this counter-narrative for the down ballot GOP gains in the House and keeping the Senate (except John James - where is Bill Barr????!!!???).

I fully expect new conspiracy theories for ballots from Canada and Mexico shipped to Philly.  Rudy:  "Look at this shipping manifest!!  Look at it!".

Dude is going to need cash and he knows trash and gossip sells, so I fully expect a "tell all" book at some point.

Yep.  They’d see it somehow as proof he is “God’s vessel “ or some such bullshit.

Laugh now, Libtard. God uses who He wants. The Emperor Constantine was a stone-cold killer who would have eaten Hitler and Patton chopped up in his scrambled eggs. Yet he was used to protect the faith. So with Trump.

In Hoc Signo Tweetes.

I bet the amount of hotline calls from lawyers claiming election fraud in their precincts, named Brett Weir and Sol Rosenberg has to number more than Trump's actual votes in those precincts.

"I'm just a hotline volunteer, why you wanna sue me?"

"For Electoral Damages that you're giving me.  Sue everybody!"

Well, I was drinking and I lost control of the cart and it hopped the curb and skidded off into a lamp post and into some people.

Seriously---what's the hotline number?  Let's have some fun later today after a few beers.

I called the hotline yesterday to report a guy dressed like a muppet in a Flyers jersey with a crazed look on his face. The sound of the man's voice on the other end sounded so glum and pathetic that for a small moment in time I felt sorry for those "Trump War Room" staff members assigned desk phone duty, then I remembered all the terrible things these assholes enabled in the name of a crazy narcissist's grift. Can you believe he hung up on me?

How the hell you gon have public works projects during a pandemic?  People ain’t outta work cause there ain’t no work, they outta work cause the damn pandemic.  Job #1 is get them shits under control then you can talmbout if some shit needs to be stimulated and how.

Fair question. As I said, what they’ve done to date was fine. The country needed immediate help. If you believe that the economy will suddenly recover after a vaccine is available, then maybe there is a path to normalcy with just another round of short term stimulus. I’m skeptical of that scenario as are most economists.

I don’t get how they expect to sell that massive voter fraud in Philly swung the election.

Trump did better in philly than he did in 2016 and Biden did worse than Hillary there. Philly county shifted 3 points TO Trump.

The suburbs around philly and Pittsburgh shifted away from Trump. Blue collar Erie flipped back to Biden. Upper middle class Bucks county flipped back to Biden.

In a lot of the really Trumpy counties in the middle of the state, counties that trump won by 30 points, counties that are controlled by GOP officials shifted 2-5 points to Biden.

I think the regulation of social media giants is a bipartisan issue that can get done.  Fuck all of them.

Its not a bipartisan issue at all.  One party does not mind and actively solicits bad foreign actors to get involved with our elections because that is how they weaken the U.S.

I appreciate Mitt's sentiment but that's like asking a toddler to take a graceful shit on the floor.

Mitt Romney saying this is a legitimate election and there is no voter fraud reminds of Chris Rocks “I take care of my kids” bit.

He also said it on CNN. Real bold there. It’s the people tuned into FOX that need to hear it.

It would be more effective to report bullshit incidences of fraud to them, rather than clear pranks. They can hang up on pranks, but if you report something that sounds viable that is actually bullshit, the'll have to waste a lot of time and energy on it.
