A few observations:

- Aggies are at 62, which is one spot higher than Clemson which has lost 10 players to the portal and has zero commits.

- There are 3 teams ranked higher than A&M that have zero transfers coming in and 7+ transfers going out.

- A&M has the highest outgoing average performance rating of the top 65 teams.

- The average rating of the incoming commits is #33 of 65 teams.

- ON3 is saying that A&M has lost more talent/performance than they've brought in.

ON3 describes their ranking as "On3's Team Transfer Portal Index utilizes the On3 (P)erformance score to measure a team’s production during the transfer process, compared relative against its roster and not a comparison against other schools. This proprietary algorithm determines if a school has improved its overall team talent, stayed the same, or declined in talent during the transfer window."

Clemson is hilarious. That remains a fun program to watch, as long as you're not cheering for them.

Texas is #23, average incoming rating is 91 (3) and average outgoing is 70 (14). Texas also has the highest average for incoming players.

The fact that he is still digging his heels in on the portal is going to end up getting him fired.

I don't even think I can imagine the levels of insanity I would be trending towards if Sarkisian or any coach at Texas was basically just acting as if the portal doesn't exist. Pulling my hair out would be only a start.

It's easy to shit on A&M/Elko for their insatiable appetite for bread, but what are their options here? He's been put in a bad spot by all the attrition and they've got to fill out their roster. Maybe they get lucky on a couple of these guys and they turn out to be plus players for them. Maybe some of those guys are just on the practice squad. Lord knows they have the roster spots available. Unless the guy is a complete knucklehead and killing team chemistry, there's not a lot of downside or opportunity cost here.

None of my mockery is directed at Elko, he's doing what is literally necessary to fill out the depth chart for next year.  It's at the lunatics trying to convince everyone that a high number of kids agreeing to transfer to aggy is evidence of positive trajectory.

Well the best option is to load up on grad transfers and guys that only have 1 year of eligibility. 1 year rentals don’t kill you but the guys that have multiple years and don’t move on are dead weight.

What's funny is that A&M is walking through shit.  They could have made a carpet out of $100 bills with the $78 million bag they tossed on the dumpster fire.

The main thing the guys they are picking up to plug the leaky ship need to think about is... where they are gonna transfer to next year, as hope in A& evaporates next October like it does every fucking year.

Some more strongly worded letters heading ON3's way from aggy

I haven’t heard things about Colorado (save for one or two players). I didn’t realize that they were doing even better than Ole Miss, which I have seen a lot of mentions.

Some tweeted this gif reply under the announcement of the new transfer from Marshall.

He's actually a pretty good player.  Had an 85-yard pick 6 earlier in the year.

And he's not afraid to play in the SEC like all the guys not portalling into A&M including the guys portalling to other SEC schools!

Actually, he looks exactly pretty good. He's got good offers, averages just under 3 tackles a game, and sacks the QB once every three or four games. He's a pretty good addition to a program looking to return to the level of pretty good.

He's surely better than an empty locker.

So they just broke even with the guys they lost, and still haven't added anyone close to that talent.

Not very picky, are they?

They've picked up a few guys who could be an improvement, a handful that might contribute in rotation, and lots and lots of stale bread. I know they need bodies, but this is ridiculous.  Of course, Aggie is convinced they're honing their roster for an SEC title run, because aren't they always?
