Tates disciples are really being the change they want to see in the world

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2025/mar/06/kyle-clifford-watched-andrew-tate-videos-before-triple

Quote

Less than 24 hours before Kyle Clifford committed the triple murder that would leave his ex-girlfriend, Louise Hunt, her sister and mother dead, he searched the internet for misogynistic podcasts.

What was not revealed to the jury – who have now found the former soldier guilty of rape, adding to his previous admissions of murder – was that the 26-year-old had listened to the influencer Andrew Tate.

Clifford had watched up to 10 videos of the self-styled misogynist influencer in the lead-up to the assault on Louise in what the prosecution described as a “final act of spite”.

Incandescent with rage that she had ended their 18-month relationship, Clifford began plotting an attack on the Hunt family by researching and buying weapons while watching pornography, including a video of a prison officer having sex with an inmate.

Prosecutors argued “the sort of violent misogyny promoted by Tate is the same type of motivation that … fuelled both the murders and the rape”, the four-day trial heard.

But the judge, Mr Justice Bennathan, ruled that the jury could not hear evidence regarding the killer’s interest in Tate, saying it was “deeply prejudicial” to his rape trial because the influencer was “almost a poster boy for misogynists”.

Why wouldn’t I find it shocking if UK diplomats offered some piffle elements in the recent framework of a trade deal for this.

I could be wrong, but it seems to clearly state the Tates will be sent to the UK after their trials in Romania. If they're on trial in Romania, doesn't seem like the U.S. would be sending them anywhere. I'd guess there are decent odds Trump will decide they aren't going to be sent to Romania from here depending on what enters his head on any given day when he wakes up.

Maybe the UK should just castrate them. That's the easiest way to stop these choads from continuing to pollute the minds of impressionable young men.

No, I don't think so.  It's a possibility, but pursuing a trade requires getting off your ass and getting on with it.  Much like college.

The problem with young men is they're not getting off their asses and getting on with it.

Young men have been steadily losing privilege for quite some time.  There are an awful lot of people out there who want to stoke the grievance without providing productive alternatives.  Many of them are found on social media and in gamer-adjacent "fora."

All of us here of all ages probably knew gamer "veges," even 40 years ago.  It's just that much worse.

Try to blame finances and not "young men are lazy and entitled and think they should be handed the world" is a choice that surely takes the blame off the young men (and their parents and even society) for being poorly raised.

Backdooring, cornholing, bumfucking, pegging, potentially fisting or teabagging, which ever word or action you would like to apply works fine for me.

I agree with JS1, just saying they are lazy is a little too easy.

Listening to an interview recently, it was raised was that young men are starting to grow up without positive male role models in their lives - fathers, teachers, etc. These voids are being filled by so many negative role models (see this thread we are talking about). These voices are telling them they deserve things without working for them. They get angry and start to believe it.

Clearly parents are failing here, but you have to admit we as a society play a touch of a role in thing. We have been told other groups deserve support but leave the young white male to flounder for themselves. This isn't a zero sum game, we can support all groups men, women, white, minorities, LGBTQ, etc and provide them the tools. With support any and all can make it.

I think we're finding social media reliance is actually worse for boys than girls. It's still pretty bad for girls. It's bad for everyone if we're being honest. Full grown ass adults can't handle it.

What white young males don't have support or resources available to them? I think this is moreso an occurance of induced grievance. They've been told so frequently that they've got it uniquely worse than everyone else that they're failing to realize that that's just how it is for everyone

You're exactly right that it's not a zero sum game - but show me any of those groups or social circles would not welcome those young men.

It means that we look backwards and (correctly) acknowledge that many groups have faced disadvantages, and thus deserve support: women, minorities, etc.  That's true, and it's a good thing.

But as those groups are (again, correctly) boosted up, white males - who historically had zero/minimal competition from such groups for jobs, opportunity, etc. - are in the exact same position they were before, except with now a bunch of people competing for the same jobs, resources, etc.  And we have provided them no real guidance, messaging....anything.

They used to "have" things -- advantages, opportunities, etc.  Not necessarily as a result of a conscious choice by any of them to push anyone down, that's just the way it was.  Now, they don't have nearly as many of those advantages and opportunities, because a pool of people who didn't used to compete for those things now does so.  The bill of goods they were sold -- go to school, you'll get a good job, and live the American dream -- is no longer the world they live in.  It takes hard work, skill, and even being exceptional to truly succeed now.  Well, by mathematical definition, 50% of white males are below the median in all of those things.  Those guys used to get decent jobs and such just because they were the only game in town.  Now, they're getting smoked by qualified competition.  And we've done NOTHING to prepare them for that situation.

It's not wrong to care for the disadvantaged folks in society.  Just understand that human nature will lead to the formerly advantaged folks feeling lost and left out.  When I was around 8 my mom and I visited my grandparents.  They were hosting my younger cousin (daughter of my druggie aunt) who, needless to say, didn't have much, and didn't have a great life.  We spent the week doting on her -- taking her out to do things she wanted, buying her things (that her family never would/could get her).  Finally on day 5 or so, we were shopping and I saw a cheap little plastic race car set, and asked my mom for it.  She said "you can have it, but you'll need to spend your own money."  It was fucking $5, it was nothing.  But after a week of my cousin getting everything she wanted, I asked for one thing, and was told no. I had plenty in life.  I had plenty of toys at home.  But it fucking hurt, and later that evening I broke down and cried, and explained how I felt to my mom.  I knew what was happening, and why, but it still hurt me, and my mom understood.

White men have had plenty of toys for a long time.  But when they see the direction of society turn to address others, and not them, they feel left behind.  It's not a meritless feeling.  And you can try to logic your way around it all day long, but feelings and emotions are real things, and don't always respond to logic.  We neglect white males at our peril.  Because guess what?  Some other folks - like Andrew Tate - will fill the void we've left empty.

"When you are accustomed to privilege, equality can feel like oppression."

That doesn't mean that what's happening is fundamentally unfair.  But it does mean that it sure FEELS unfair to certain groups.  Again, we ignore that feeling at our peril.  Because there are voices out there who are all-too-happy to tell them "yeah, it IS unfair, and you should be pissed!"

I thought part of Tate’s message was for guys to get off their asses, make money, and become somebody, but there are so many internet wannabe role models out there it’s hard to know who is saying what.

@Brisketexan kind of hit the bullseye better than I was trying to do. I will note that as we get into a culture war that is being foisted on us by others we start to inadvertently pit sides against each other in ways that we really shouldn't. We start to push advancement of our groups and inadvertently isolate others.

Is this every single person? No. But it is enough that it starts to become a problem and when you have an opposition side that is able to push their agenda simply by making the argument binaries of you or them any fracture is something they can exploit. And with social media it is people that are loud.

You have the wrong person in power of a group they can make their group very exclusionary. And this is a bigger problem - vocal individuals can very much make this view (my group vs white males) and social media allows them to amplify it. And the sad thing is that we all should be on the same side. We are fighting for the same things - opportunities for those that lack them. But many people look at just their group and not as society as a large.

I think this is a problem of our bubble/insular views - we think our groups should be open and accepting, but from the inside we might miss that they are not.

I don't think the problem is outside-in as you frame it. I think it's that the degree of alienation is a learned behavior, and that they are choosing to see any group that isn't made by them as unwelcoming. They've been told it so often - why should they bother to check for themselves? Many people ARE saying, after all

It could be that too. I mean, as a Latino I see a lot of Hispanic groups. There are women's groups, LGBT groups, groups for minorities, etc. Hard to find young white male centric groups.

Isnt that just going out and playing sports? Or going down to the hobby store and playing with some minis? Or doing literally anything? When I was a young white dude I was never the only person that looked like me at an event or activity. The whole point of those womens or ethnic or LGBT groups is so that people CAN find others like them in a setting or community.

I think it's like how evangelical christians have it beaten into their heads that they're constantly under attack and being persecuted, so they present that posture back. It's nonsense that's been repeated so much that people now repeat it like it's wisdom.

i think the difference is also how they process it. girls tend to turn inward, internalizing low self-esteem, hating themselves, eating disorders, cutting and other self-harm, etc. i think boys are more prone to outward manifestation... blaming others, violence (real and vocalized), acting out towards others etc.

girls also in general tend to be more mature, or at least mature faster.

i don't know...is there an Andrew Tate or Jordan Peterson equivalent for girls? 🤔

Yep.  The toxic female counterpart is definitely of the "look pretty and use your looks to exploit mens' weakness" variety.  It's a shitty model for women....first, because it's as exploitative and denigrating of men as Tate's misogyny is of women, and second, because it is similarly unrealistic for 95% of women.

Most men aren't going to be muscle-cut big-dog alphas because....they aren't that.

Most women aren't going to be incredibly put-together women with a mix of great natural beauty and enhanced beauty because....they aren't that.
