Why won't Nikki Haley be the first female POTUS?

LOL. No.

But it was a nicely crafted PR campaign, furthered by the media, to soften conservatism into something more digestible to a stupid voting population

Again, there is a large faction of those who voted for Trump in 2020 that will never, ever vote for a woman, and especially a woman of color.  It.  Will.  Not.  Happen.

How will the GOP make up those votes, which weren't enough to beat Biden in the first place?  Do you think there is any serious group of Democrats who will flip to Haley over Biden?

Come on.

Well plus the people who will only vote for Trump and no one else, period. Not just Haley but anyone else. If his name isn’t on the ballot, they won’t bother

If you think about it, Frank would obviously carry Pennsylvania.  Plus he's younger than Biden and Trump.  And like a foot taller, a better dancer, and much more fun to be with...

Bruh, MAGA would be more likely to vote Biden to spite the party that stole the GOP nomination from Lord Trump than vote for some uppity bitch.

A non Trump-endorsed MAGA candidate has absolutely zero shot at president this late in the game. Saving Trump is the GOP's entire policy platform right now.

Haley is taking the direct tack.  She is in to outlast him through the primaries and convention.  And sadly her fate is totally binary.  She's either the first female GOP nominee or dead by his hand.  Kinda sucks, but also kinda admirable.  But she is summoning more and more support behind the scenes that I could have possibly realized.  We'll know more in one month's time obviously.

I am starting to firmly believe more and more that there are two others who are remaining in one case-dead silent.  And in one case-overly ball sucking to MAGA nation.  The quiet one may very well decide to jump in at the last moment when Trump is ineligible or dead, and he'll win the general election.  Glenn Youngkin.  The one who has been busy sucking Trump's taint without Trump even noticing is Greg Abbott.  Abbott thinks that by embracing MAGA nation, that if Trump can't run, he can slide in at the last minute.  They're both quietly counting on Trump not being around on the ballot in November.  Youngkin's only reservation is he can still win this thing down the road someday in 2028/2032, Abbott is nearly done for overall.

But Haley has very discretely marshaled resources in the last few weeks that I didn't think possible.  and she's showing more fight than I thought possible.

I’ve kinda figured for the last few years that Rubio was the one laying back in the cut waiting for Trumps time to end.

Rubio still has time to run down the road.  he's only 52 and it's a young 52.  He and Youngkin are much more strategic than most people realize.  They can wait another 8-12 years with no problem and be vigorous enough to run and stay in power for a long while.  Both are intentionally not upsetting MAGA nation while also hoarding resources.  Youngkin already has a shitpile of cash.  Rubio is going to gather more by currying favor with overseas allies and the defense complex.  Youngkin may jump in sooner than later because of his age and is a little ragged for his age.  Rubio can wait this out for a long while though.  But make no mistake, despite the narrative than every single Republican is an outright moron, both these guys are smart as fuck and know precisely what their playbook is.  Abbott is just grasping at straws at this point because he thought a SCOTUS appointment or Cabinet position was within his grasp and is literally mentally damaged by how little attention Trump and the RNC are paying to him.  He overplayed his hand and fucking hates the world for it.

Haley remains an enigma.  One week, she's a complete and total fuckup.  The next week, she's full of piss and vinegar and ready to bury Trump.  Who knows what tomorrow will bring?

Youngkin doesn’t have the name recognition.  Greg has no charisma, is a one-trick pony who will get wrecked for his actions taken during COVID (he backtracked too late - it was over when Allen West and other a republicans protested in front of his mansion) and he will be mocked for various comments. But mainly, he has no charisma.  Less than DeSanctimonious even.

I think the Nevertrumpers have coalesced around her, and yeah, she’s been marshaling resources and people. Trump’s staff probably knows this.

Youngkin doesn't have the name recognition yet, but will in another cycle or two.  He knows what he's doing.  His only real drawback is alienating parents over some primary school education bullshit.  Otherwise, he's tow'd a pretty good line overall.

Greg had charisma.  But about the same time he lost his moral compass, he lost his personality as well.  I really don't know what the fuck happened to him a couple years ago.  Not to sound like an insensitive bastard (I am), because I have a disabled sibling.  But politics aside, maybe he just got angry with this physical situation and took it out on people.  I dunno.  This'll sound wildly unpopular on here, but he was a genuinely good dude to hang out with years ago.  I don't know what the fuck happened besides Huffhines, but he's just off his fucking rocker now and hates everything and everybody and can't shout it loud enough.

Anyway, all due respect to you Democrats.  But this next 30 days between Haley and Trump is going to be the most significant timeframe in American politics in quite awhile.  Tip of the hat to Joe, but it's insane that she may well pull ahead if something goes even more sideways with Trump or be killed by some lunatic cultist of his.  That's not Lobo-hyperbole.  That's just where we find ourselves.

I mean, I get the political statement of voting "none of the above."  But what kind of outcome do you hope to affect with that?  I understand just staying home and abstaining, which a large number of our qualified electorate do every presidential election.  But if you're one of those folks who actually gets off your ass and makes the effort to vote, it's likely because you believe your vote will contribute to the outcome of the election, and not voting for one of the candidates -- no matter how frustrated you are with the selections that both parties have offered -- does no fucking good in my opinion.

Hilarious way to troll her thouh - we don't want you even when you're the only real option on the ballot.  But don't worry, everyone is *so certain* she'd 100% beat Biden, but Republicans don't even want her.  None of the above DOUBLED her vote total.

Trump doubled her vote total.  Sure, it was spelled “none of the above” but it was Trump.

Do you honestly believe the Biden campaign would prefer to run against Nikki Haley over Donald Trump?  Because I do not.

I’m not certain Haley could win but she’d make the race more interesting.  Sadly, these presidential races basically come down to who can run the most effective marketing strategy within six weeks of the general election.  Over the last 15 years I’ve seen a black man named Hussein and a imbecilic racist unregistered sex offender become president.  Anything is possible.

For the record, Haley sucks on multiple levels but a Trump/Haley ticket would be tragically formidable.

I agree that Haley would have a pretty good shot at taking down Biden as a presidential candidate, I'd probably make her the favorite. But adding Haley to a Trump ticket does absolutely nothing, as Trump is toxic as fuck and will drive massive dem voter turnout. "No Trump" means a lot of people that voted Biden last time around will stay home, or might even consider voting for someone that isnt 126 years old.

A agree that Haley would have a shot if she started her campaign in earnest in 2022, before Trump announced. Make a little headway with the base and the power players in the GOP. But it's too late now. The GOP has bent over backwards to appease Donald and throw meat at his MAGA base. A nominee not named Trump would be akin to treason in those circles. They'd flip their shit, and they far outnumber right-leaning never Trumpers who would love to vote for Haley over Biden. She'd have no chance.

Keep in mind that we have an extremely strong pattern over the last 30 years of the second-place (or third) finishers in primaries getting the nomination in the subsequent election, so I think Haley is running for 2028. Trump will lose this year, and in 2028 she’ll make her case as the standard bearer.

I agree with these with the exception that Haley adds nothing to the ticket.  She probably wouldn’t add enough to change the outcome of the election for the reasons given so it’s a moot point (no one votes for Vice President), but if it came down to a Trump/Haley versus a Trump/Stefanik or Trump/Micheal Flynn or Trump/Ivanka ticket… pretty clear here who the best choice would be.

Point is Haley has enough establishment street cred and campaign chops to give Trump’s campaign more perceptible/marketable legitimacy than the alternatives.  She’s already kinda selling herself as the last adult in the room within the party. Will it happen? Probably not because Trump is a petty self-destructive moron but it’s fun to hypothesize.

Yeah, cause the lady who made national headlines about slavery and the civil war is just so good at thinking on her feet.  She's a clown, just like the rest of the Republican field, destined to be a footnote in Presidential election history, and likely never to be heard from again on the national stage.

Haley could beat Biden, if she had Trump backing her. If Haley somehow pulled out a victory over Trump or Trump was forced to step down, does anyone really think Trump will endorse Nikki or provide her with financial support?

In theory Nikki could beat Joe but only in a vacuum.

Agreed.  She makes all kinds of gaffes -- not the "old guy" pause/stutter/word salad -- but she tries to dance around issues and ends up with her foot in her mouth (Civil War causes, etc.).

If Haley wins the nomination for some strange reason, many of the Trumplicans won't show up to vote in November.  Sign me up, we win that general election somewhere around 80 million votes to at best 60 million.  I'll take that all day long.

Gaffes or messages targeted at her audiences?

Because the people who would be upset with her “gaffes” were never going to vote for her in the first place, but the the people who would agree with her “gaffes” are thinking “she thinks like one of us.”
