All the news has now shifted to we will know in 2 or 3 hours and that the rumors they have found and investigated the site are "incorrect" at this time...

Screams to me that they are all dead and are going to try and lock down everything they can and announce it late at night (its like 8 or so Iranian time right now). There are already reports of celebrations and fireworks from pockets of folks celebrating his death...

Find it hard to believe that their weren’t multiple tracking devices on the helicopter nor any other air assets escorting close enough that they wouldn’t be able to pinpoint a very small area where the choppa went down. I bet they found the crash site almost immediately, and they’re drawing it out as long as possible to shore up security

Uh huh. Sure. Mossad was known to be working in the area, so they put a couple of their highest ranking leaders on a fucking helo without any escorts? It’s crazy how little they even bother trying to craft a believable story. At best, if that was the truth, they are completely incompetent. At worst, that’s essentially admitting that someone in your own government arranged for them to be taken out.

To be honest, I'm surprised it took that long.  Granted, I have no idea as to what as happened, but I'm shocked the Israeli's didn't get the blame almost immediately.

CNN

Rescue crews haven't yet located the crash site of the helicopter carrying Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, the head of Iran’s Red Crescent Society, Pir-Hossein Koulivand, told Iranian state TV IRINN.

Earlier, a military commander said the aircraft's exact location had been detectedthrough a signal from the helicopter and a mobile phone of a crew member, according to state news agency IRNA.

The crews are still searching around where the signals were detected, Koulivand said.

Harsh weather conditions and heavy fog have made the search for the crash site very difficult. It is now just after 1 a.m. local time in the remote, mountainous province.

I always wonder how there is no technology to find a whole crashed helicopter or other missings, but I can see my garbage can on google earth.

(I mean, I assume the u.s. knows.)

I’m just GUESSING, but I’m pretty sure that Iran doesn’t have a robust spy satellite system.

So it looks like Turkey sent them a drone and the drone has found the wreckage and are directing the search party towards the crash. They are live streaming ....

My guess, after how long it has been and how cold/wet it is up there, anyone that may have survived impact is dead anyways...

Maybe because on Google Earth you have to enter the location you want to look at.

He's right when it comes to being able to zero in on a thing at a place.

You're thinking like I'm thinking... "Everything is in that satellite image."

Ok. So I've come up with an AI idea that already exists. Who wants to help me build it better?

Does this involve drones flying over beaches during spring break?

Lots of people saying it's confirmed.

JUST IN: Iran's President Ebrahim Raisi is confirmed dead after rescuers reached the crash site.

Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian is also dead.

The discovery came after a long night of searching in freezing conditions.

Shortly before the discovery, Iranian Red Crescent Society head Pir-Hossein Kolivand said the situation was “not good.”

According to Reuters, the helicopter was completely burned in the crash.

Looks more like a "splat" than a hard landing.

CHIEF

The whole "hard landing" aspect of this thing is the most absurd.

Who told the unfortunate spokesperson of whatever rank to say that? Based on what? Personal knowledge? What the helicopter pilot said after the "hard landing"? I mean, the answer to any of these immediately triggers the automatic "that's fucking bullshit" flashing sign.

Hard landing. On a mountain. In impenetrable fog. Don't know where it happened. Don't know what happened. They disappeared. Hard landing.

We 're sure they're okay.

The situation points to a small group of idiots who get a pass for saying the dumbest, more unbelievable shit that everyone is supposed to somehow go along with because they have power. So, everyone else is all like "yeah."

Bunch of their folks are claiming Israel did it, because fog and mountains can’t do it alone, so yeah, dumbasses.  I won’t be surprised to wake up and see them officially blaming Israel.
