Uncomfortable Moments In Group Texts

One of my kid’s baseball teams from the spring had a kid quit early on, not long after his dad showed up to a game high or drunk and hit on my wife and another woman in the stands and then left, leaving someone else to give the kid a ride home.

About 3 months later in the text string on What’s App as the parents and coaches are discussing that evening’s playoff game uniforms and prep, this appears from nowhere:

“Hey y’all good luck , no secret, William dropped the fuck out. The fight with him to get him to show up to only be bench warmer and basically not play "jumped the shark." on a last place team with coaches who are fucking lost. No worries, he will find something else like golf. Enjoy the ride with your kids growing up as this all goes too fast and usually ends rather abruptly. I’ve seen plenty of stars turn into bench warmers in high school with my older kids with a lot of drama with it. It will happen with some of the kids on this team I saw that. I’ve seen stars like my older daughter that screamed big time college athlete left broken on the field after horrific brutal knee injury never to be the same again. She was first of 4 girls within year to be broken with ACL/MCL injuries on team that once was ranked the top team in Texas. They all had their identities tied in sports and it was tough ending for each and for their parents as well. I’ve also seen yesterdays daisy pickers turn into stars. But for vast majority of kids it just ends with a loss or they just quit so make sure they are having fun along the way. La-di-da and such. Onward and upward. Whatever.

This has to be a thing that happens to others too. I laughed for 10 minutes watching the sudden silence on the chain before someone removed him and his wife from it.

Honestly nothing in the bolded part is really wrong per se, but jesus fucking christ.... unsolicited out of the blue in a group text, what a dipshit.

Ha. The dude is a lawyer, so he must have something rolling around upstairs. I just enjoyed the absurdity and then his closing.

That post is a gold mine.  Lol.  Thank you little quitDad.  I’m sure your kid appreciates having to overcome your sorry pathetic ass in addition to working for playing time in baseball.

As a kid I started some, sat the bench plenty, but always valued the agreement with my mom- you don’t embarrass me in the stands( she wouldn’t) and I don’t embarrass you on the field. I was better off not having a dad around than having a little bitchass punk like our hero in the text.

OK, the text reeks of bitterness and all but as SurlyBevo said, there is some truth to some of what he says and being a part-timer on bad team might not be the best use of anyone's time.  The question is: what does he do to replace it?

This is a smart move, for a couple of reasons.  Golf is a lifetime sport and it's also an individual sport.  You don't rely on someone else to give you permission to play.

I've seen this as well.  Some sports are pretty brutal on the body (and we're not even talking about football).

I've also seen a few awkward kids slowly become very good players and overtake some of the "local heroes" at about the right time (college recruitment).

In a different context this might have been a reasonable text . .

I quit basketball due to my mother's embarassing behavior in the stands. It was so bad it distracted the entire team. She'd scream my name every time I got the ball then would scream her fucking head off when anyone fouled me.

A Xanax prescription did her wonders.

Story went totally different direction than what I expected after reading “embarrassing behavior in stands…”

My guess is that you probably didn’t lose anything by missing a baseball dad’s home video of him and his wife. Probably just two muddy, sweaty hippos doing the dirty.
Spoiler alert: it includes a “dung showering.”

One year when my oldest son was playing little league baseball, he had a teammate whose parents got divorced shortly after the season started.  One night they were playing a game and his mom shows up with a new punk style, bright colored haircut, bolt ons and young boy toy in tow.  Dad was in the stands as well.  At some point mid game, the kid is a base runner on 3rd and gets drilled by a line drive hit.  Much drama ensued as the parents had a loud argument about their divorce and who should look after the kid while everyone waited for an ambulance to arrive.  It was exceedingly awkward and uncomfortable.

I just got invited to a group chat on the Chinese side of the family on wechat.

For many, many reasons, I don't post to it unless I'm sharing kid photos.

But the temptation to say "pooh bear" or "tiananmen square" or "independent nation of Taiwan" etc is very real.

I was telling my son about it and the temptations involved, and he was like, "Yeah, I've already been banned from wechat." I'm both proud of him and not for this.

Had similar happen when my son was playing lacrosse. Mom started showing up in hoochie shorts and no bra. They'd fight about money, or who had what weekend pretty much every game.

This could be a really grim experience as a recipient, or something awesome. There are some hot moms that attend their kids' games and then there are some real pigs running around out there. I hope for your sake that it was the former.

I'd known them both for a few years, and always suspected they were part of "the lifestyle".  Which is why I'm not 100% convinced it was an accident.  Not the 300-lb variety prevalent in the select baseball world, but not someone you'd get excited about either.  Plus, the cinematography sucked.

Did anybody reply?  That could have started a really entertaining conversation.

There was the typical responses of "I don't think you sent the right file" and "you may want to delete that" to a few baseball related jokes.  They took it in stride.   Lots of the same parents from the previous year, so most of us just laughed it off.

There is no way we could have a family group chat.  I am bad enough, but my boys are fucking wicked with cutthroat bombs.  I made them that way.

We pretty much sit back and make sure nobody fucks with my wife.  If they falter, they’re gonna get the hammer, big time. They’re still nice about it.  I am honest and direct.

Not in a group text, but a lady in the neighborhood has gained a significant amount of weight since her divorce. She still has a very pretty face, but yea..... Anyway, she posted a picture on FB the other day and another lady in the neighborhood responded with "Holy Shit ______, you look amazing! How much weight have you lost?" Formerly hot neighbor responded "That picture is from 2018"

My ex has gained at least 75 lbs since our divorce (and still growing) so this post hits close to home.  And one of my law partners said to me last year after seeing her in person, "Um, your ex wife's Facebook profile is not exactly representative of her current appearance," like he was afraid of offending me by commenting about how my ex had gained so much weight.  I responded, "Yeah dude, she's huge."

Kill.  And then fuck.  It was a weird job

I once worked with a guy who was very competent at his job, and was as annoying as he was competent.  One day he was being exceedingly annoying, but had just done something really well.  I was trying to compliment him and tell him to back off on the annoying behavior at the same time by saying that I would kill him long before I would fire him.  That caused an awkward conversation with my boss and HR.

This is the only kind of group text screwup I want to hear about.

I would also accept inadvertent sexts taht got put into the wrong chat.

"Holy shit, I can't wait to get home to help you take off your wet panties."

"Sorry guys, that was meant for a different text conversation."

Original story is kind of lame in my opinion, a bitter dumbass who probably had too much whisky. These are way better, lol. I’m on multiple groupmes and messenger groups and have thankfully managed to avoid anything too bad. My college buddy messenger group is a bunch of really dark memes and bad stuff, I’ve told them if I run for office they’d have a fucking goldmine, lol. I’ve managed to avoid crossing those wires thankfully.

Problem is that if you sign up for a team, you need to finish the season. You don't quit nor do you raise quitters.

A buddy of mine who is a typical straight lace type and CEO of a good sized company got busted by blue tooth.  He and his wife like to watch porn together before having sex.  He was at his lake house with his family and his tenth grade daughter with friends.

They are all getting on the boat together to go tubing, and the blue tooth connects to his phone and starts autoplaying loud fucking from whatever porn he and his wife were watching.  Took him a bit to turn it off too as the phone was in a dry box or something.

I know a guy who had MIL staying at the house for a week, and the wife wouldn't give him any pussy with her mom in the house.  One day the women go shopping, and dude decides to whack it.   He's watching porn on his phone while beating his meat, and wife and MIL return home, and the phone kicks over to the bluetooth in the car wife and MIL are in, and they get the audio from the video he's jacking to.
