While it's nice of the election judges to bring jackets for voters to put over their tshirts, f that. There should be a sign out front that says no campaign tshirt, etc., and willfully ignoring that law will result in your arrest.

So you're saying I can't wear my Ewers/Bond '24 t-shirt to the polls?

I expected to go differently as well.  Kudos to the piece of shit Trumper for not escalating it further.  Although it’s probably too much to ask to expect him to have actually thought about what I said.

That POS wasn't gonna do shit.As soon as you call 'em on their bs, they tuck tail like the pussies they are,  just like the chick earlier in the thread who tweeted about Obama being executed on PPV.

Last election, I overheard a guy talking voluably about some such conspiracy believed by the idiots who vote MAGA. I pursed my lips and looked at the ceiling. Politeness and outrage fight it out inside me.

He's comfortable assuming such utterances are acceptable in the voting line. It's not a social gathering, so my silence doesn't mean affirmation. Still, why should the yokel go unchecked? I stayed quiet, but I do struggle with that stuff.

My experience is different than yours. You were clearly correct. My own polite silence frays.

Sounds a lot like me. I can remain silent through a fair amount of bullshit, but once I'm pissed off enough, my response will not be polite by any stretch.

There is a sign next to the stage at the upcoming Dotard Hate Rally that just says "Deport Illegals Now".

I know running on hate and fear isn't anything new, but they used to disguise it a little better. If the election had a few more months in it we might get to a point where we see "Get Rid of All Brown people" signs.

Well, anyone who puts a second of thought into it, realizes that's what today's sign really says.

Well, one of the easiest ways to make money is buying stuff cheap after the market crashes.

I don't know if you're kidding or not, but yeah, that's exactly what the oligarchy is thinking.

Imagine a fire sale for anything and everything and you don't have to pay taxes.  What's not to like?

WTH Is this cryptic Lancaster PA voter registration thing saying?

They made them up. Fraudulent registrations. They were probably going to submit fraudulent ballots using those names

https://www.npr.org/2024/10/25/nx-s1-5165382/lancaster-county-voter-registration-fraud

Quote

Officials in Lancaster County in the swing state of Pennsylvania say they identified hundreds of potentially fraudulent voter registration applications.

"Suspected fraudulent voter registration forms were dropped off at the Board of Elections Office in two batches at or near the deadline for submission," the board said in a statement on Friday. "There are approximately 2,500 voter registration applications total in these two batches."

In its statement, the board stressed that county elections are secure and that flagging the potential fraud indicates the "systems worked." Republican-leaning Lancaster County has more than 360,000 registered voters.

Bezos clearly afraid of Trump seeking retribution

We are definitely seeing this: rich/powerful/vengeful figures are telling outlets what to do, and/or threatening them (either directly or via stochastic terrorism).  As a result, they are staying out of it, or outright putting their thumbs on the scale to favor Dotard.

We are a nation of abject cowards.  Pathetic, spineless fucks who don't deserve the Constitution they cower behind.  "Champions of the First Amendment" MY ASS.  The NYT, WAPO, CNN -- every fucking one of them is kowtowing to the nazis because they are afraid of what the nazis will do when they take power.  How about you do what Americans used to do back when we had fucking SPINES: tell the nazis to fuck off so they DON'T COME TO POWER.

God.  I hate them all.  Sure, I hate nazis, but I think I hate their enablers even more.  Because "I don't hate mexicans/jews/gays....I'm just okay if they suffer brutally in exchange for me continuing to profit" is pure fucking evil.

But see, you're begging the question. I don't acccept the premise that they were in fact protecting corporate interests. I think there were and are specific interests associated with specific people that benefitted, and I'm sure to some people that looks like being pro-business or pro-capitalism, but it's not.
The greatest danger to capitalism is not socialism, but rent-seeking. The greatest danger to American business is not overregulation but regulatory capture.

SO much this.

"Conservatives" : "Don't put your thumb on the scales by doing anything that helps poor people!  If you don't earn it fair and square, you shouldn't get it!"

[Conservative politicians  putting their thumb on the scales by delivering policies that reward rent-seeking and provide regulatory capture for huge campaign contributors], "Conservatives":

the issue is that staying out of it (when you never have before) is putting their thumbs on the scale. a non-endorsement is a tacit endorsement of trump. especially if everyone is expecting them to endorse kamala. he's been completely normalized and the damage is done.

it's kinda like when pete rose said he never bet against his own team. right. well when you bet on your own team 3 days in a row, then the 4th day you don't bet on the game at all, then what's the fucking difference?

Oh man I hope scott pressler goes to prison for that PA fraud, god I hope so much.

Whatever the case, we're up to exhibit infinity+double infinity in the case of "every accusation is a confession."

Bottom line, over the past decade, functionally EVERY example of anything approaching systemic voter/election fraud or attempts at same.....has been by MAGAs.

What a brilliant strategy.  Go out and commit rampant crimes so you can run of a platform of "See!  Crime is up!  Vote for me to stop crime!"

I hate them all.  So, so much.  They are literally at war against the Republic.  We should treat them as such.

This and the LA Times is nothing more than owners preemptively protecting themselves if DJT wins.  It is a sign that our Constitution and social contract are at grave risk.

Bingo.

When the people and entities supposedly protected from government action by the First Amendment restrain their speech because they fear the planned regime will NOT be restrained by the protections provided by the First Amendment, then the First Amendment is dead.

To be clear, the side shouting "free speech!" as loudly as they can, all the time -- in the COMPLETELY wrong context -- has actually succeeded in killing protected free speech.

They are enemies of the Republic, freedom, and the Constitution.  If you think that you won't have to use violent force to protect you/your family/your community, you have not been paying any attention, and have never read any history books.  This is how authoritarian takeovers go.  EVERY.  FUCKING.  TIME.

Buy ammo.  I haven't been kidding when I have said it before, I ain't kidding now.  The gun debate is over, by the way.  Fucking arm yourself, the ship has sailed.

And, of course, it goes without saying that if Kamala Harris wins, the thought of retribution against any newspaper or other media outlet would be ridiculous, but here is where we are.

Trump in Austin for Rogan today lol

Man.....never wished for a fiery plane crash at ABIA before today....

Also, that NC legislator calling for just declaring Trump the winner....in a functioning country, he'd be swinging from the gallows before nightfall.  You want to take away the rule of law via the voters, then you don't get the protection of the law anymore.  If he's willing to make that trade, get him to commit to it.

Dem officials need to start issuing public statements to the people, NAMING NAMES, of the legislators who are trying to undo their votes.  "Harris wants to cancel your vote, because he is anti-American, and is an enemy of the Republic.  Treat him as an enemy of the Republic."  You know.... a bit of counter stochastic terrorism.  That's the rule of the game now, so fucking play by it.  And if someone shoots him, well, gosh darn it, we didn't say to do THAT.  You just can't be responsible for what a lunatic does.  One thing's for sure, we can't blame the gun.

But maybe not this guy and surname, specifically. He gets a pass.

Gotta remember that any undecided voters left are really, really fucking stupid.

No big deal that an elected rep wants to overturn the will of the people because reasons.

It's honestly remarkable (yet not shocking) that this won't be a huge story.  Even early in the Trump administration, this still would have been earth-shattering news.  Trump's degradation of norms and what is viewed as "newsworthy" will be something that harms this country far beyond his lifetime.

There would be an GOP uprising to kick out a Dem congressman for saying this same thing. Instead there will be little outrage which further empowers anti-Americans like Andy Harris.

These seven combined are worth over a trillion dollars and collectively control most of the public information space.  You cannot have a functioning Democracy with this shit.  It’s too much concentration of power, they can rewrite history if they want and no government is going to stop them.

*cough* EU & Brazil *coughcough*

Certainly won't stop them if you don't try.
