Speaking of Ted, I used to always assume the worst pairs of Senators were wither Cruz/Cornyn or Lankford/Mullin.  Up until last night I had never even heard of Brett.  Now, I'm quite confident in saying that the worst pair has to be Tuberville/Brett. Not even close.  She seems to be horrific, and we all know about coach already. So, congrats Alabama, you are the worst.  Again.

Rand Paul and Mitch McConnell would like a word. The thing is, it really comes down to the criteria you use to define "worst."

Just watched a little of that rebuttal. Holy shit. That's amazing. I'd recommend the first minute and then skip to around 8:30 and watch for a minute.

Edit: Around 11:30 gets good too. Smiling and laughing about Tik-Tok, straight into unbridled anger.

Response from Britt: "I mean, geez... ok, like, what? Joe.... Biden..... Joe! Ok haha well sure ok? Bye"

Ugh, NPR is annoying, they find the stupidest people to follow and interview on this stuff. His speech was exactly that. The interviewee’s comment was essentially “I don’t feel like I learned much from him tonight, he’s just a nice guy.” Let’s just fire all our nukes and let humanity start over.

So "it was too good, he must have been in drugs" is what the shit-for-brains are going with, huh? Odd choice, but who am I to conspiracy shame.

Hunter brought the party pack of the yayo and whores to start the evening off right for his dad.

Say what you will about his taxes, the dude knows how to get amped up and give off that BDE.

I also imagine he was so high on blow that he gave his dad the Herb Brooks pregame speech from Miracle…..

And yet the dumb motherfuckers voted him into Congress. Half of this country is filled with certifiable idiots.

I beleive his specific district is a real motherfucker of a draw.

They drew in Sugarland, which is very diverse, and dilluted it down with Katy and just straight up rural areas. I think it cross 3 different counties. It's infuriating.

Yep. They get elected because the gerrymander ensures the morons outvote the educated diverse people.

The right-wing crowd is confused when there’s a consensus of rational people independently making the same observation of events happening in real time and not waiting for their thought leaders to provide them with the opinions they’re supposed to promote after-the-fact as if they’re their own.

Everyone watched Biden hit the ball out of the park. We, the impartial umpires, actually calling balls and strikes, called it as we saw it. The people who already had their minds made up beforehand that Joe Biden is old and incompetent and “senile,” (you too, JS1?) couldn’t process that reality. So surely they couldn’t have been wrong. There must be other forces at work. Joe must have been drugged or the rational observation of normal, thinking people must be the result of some sort of nefarious ‘groupthink.’

It’s what happens when you make a habit of letting others tell you what to think. You can’t comprehend when others think for themselves. ‘How do they do that? It must be an “echo chamber!” (because my thought leaders tell me that’s what it is and heaven forbid I should ever consider the possibility that my assumptions were wrong.’

I hope you don’t think I think that? I just know what the talking points would be prior to the speech. But I didn’t have “sleepy senile Joe had TOO MUCH energy” on my bingo card. That was a surprise square

Slight correction: They drew in the *white* parts of Sugar Land.  That really precise cutout in the north-northeast part of the map is where all the diversity lives.

He's my rep.  I hate it here.  The part of Katy where I live is actually very demographically similar (and geographically close!) to the part of Sugar Land that they omitted, yet we are grouped with fucking Needville and El Campo.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that a good 1/3 of the anger/rage in the MAGA crowd is due to pent-up sexual frustration.

My Rep is not as bad - He actually support aid for Ukraine but didn't vote to impeach Trump for insurrection.  It's maddening and the worst part is I live in Travis County and I'm stuck with a guy that represents College Station.  Look at the Gerrymander on 10.  If I contact them they probably have a filter based on Zip Code to just ignore us. (Yes, there is a tiny sliver of green connecting the two sides.)

I think they also split Williamson between 31 Georgetown and Round Rock 17.  If we were all together there would be another D from Texas.

You need to move a few blocks over and get in that House District 7 action.

Does nobody do political porn parodies?  Because someone should do political porn parodies.  Because....I'm interested....

I mean, except the ones of Lauren Boebert.  Those wouldn't need to be parodies, they could just be documentaries.  Starring Boebert.  As herself.

Gotta love the 100 yard line connecting things. That happens in multiple spots in Texas, it's so infuriating.

Even getting past her absurd delivery of that speech, there wasn't really anything of substance in there. Just a whole lot of "Joe Biden is murdering your children".

I mean it's a party without a platform except total allegiance to a lifelong NY democrat, so I guess what should we expect.

That kitchen looks like a set.

Also, the metaphorical choice of putting a woman back in the kitchen at a time when the GOP is doing everything in their power to give women a reason not to vote GOP was a nice touch.  Just outstanding all around subliminal messaging there, folks.

Somewhere, there's some GOP operatives high fiving each other (awkwardly, I presume) over the choices they made for this.

Surprised they didn't make her barefoot and pregnant.

0.0% chance that kitchen has ever been used, at least by a white woman.

I'm your neighbor in 31. The latest redistricting saw them move 31 several MILES west and split WilCo, like you said. We were 1-2 more cycles from flipping 31, so they split it up, "packed" the dark blue areas into the new Austin district, and bought themselves another 3-4 cycles of uncompetitive races in 31 and 17
