I don’t have to review shit. He’s president and the other guy won a primary and hasn’t moved to any position of power yet. The president has more influence on that election and will always be more powerful at the end of the day.

A real president not a dickhead bitch made pussy like dotard wouldn’t bother with a local election. The president should have zero influence over local politics. Fuck off with that fucktarded viewpoint

I'm to the point where I feel like I need to give up social media and likely news in general for one reason and one reason only:  I am fucking sick of the cruelty and the fact that it is so widely celebrated.  It is simply beyond me that this president and his whole fucking party are fucking jubilant at the idea of immigrants...criminal records or no...are being shipped to 'Alligator Alcatraz'.  Hot as balls, it took a good deal of water just from a simple rainstorm, and it's basically tents in the middle of the Everglades.  What happens when the inevitable hurricane hits?  Are these people evacuated out of there or will the fact that they may just have to ride it out where they are just something else these fucking mouthbreathing retards can whip their skippies over.  What the fuck have we become?

And where the fuck is Congress?  Where are the fucking guardrails that are supposed to be keeping shit like this from happening?

It's not humane.  It sure as hell ain't Christian.

I'd like to think that the majority of people are mortified by all of this and it's impossible to believe that all we can do is wait for the next election cycle and pray that the majority of people see it for what it is.  But I'm not sure that will happen.

I did this a couple of months ago. I'm better for it.

What has happened is that a sizeable and politically significant number of voters have evolved into racist, misogynistic, transphobic, homophobic, xenophobic, hate- and fear-mongering ignorant assholes. The reasons are varied, but can all be traced to various societal factors.  The declining population (as a total percentage) of whites in the U.S., media being driven (by market necessity) by profits instead of journalistic integrity, the internet and waves of false and misleading information that anyone can send out to millions of gullible and uninformed people, the failure of our education system, the fact that the U.S. is rich, bloated, overly stimulated and infected with such false myths as "anyone call pull themselves up by their bootstraps" and "welfare queens" and "illegals are sucking up all of the resources paid for by our hard-earned tax dollars." When you add to that politicians who have absolutely zero integrity, no intentions of ever doing anything "good" for the country or the people at large and are only self-interested (which is, itself, caused by fucked up campaign finance laws) and, as a result, they are willing to tell people anything, no matter how untrue, farfetched or dangerous.  You know, things like, "Illegals are taking all of the jobs!" "Democrats are socialists!" "Sandy Hook families are crisis actors!" "Trans women are taking over women's sports and gaining access to women's bathrooms to spy on little girls' pee-pees!" and various other outrageous and stupid shit like that.  Whites feel (or believe) they are losing their grip on power and want to hear it's not happening or that there is someone to blame and there are things to do about it.  So they vote for the assholes riling them up because it makes them feel good.  So, in a word - dopamine.  Dopamine is to blame for all of this.

It’s fucking New York City, not some little local election you trologdyte. I can cuss too, but I don’t yell at retards. It’s literally Trump’s hometown and spends more time there than whatever tax shelter he has in South Florida.

Politicians give endorsements all the time to candidates in other elections. Why the president can’t give his thoughts on an election he couldve easily been voting in is square in a circle thinking.

I would love to know who these additional thousands of ICE agents are going to be. Who is leaving their job for it? What kind of background checks are they going to do? How many applicants stormed the capitol? This is the most important part of the bill that people seem to be glossing over.

Do you really think this kind of quibbling makes you look smart? What the fuck is wrong with you people I swear to god.

2013.

But look, here’s the thing with NYC- the voters there are very diverse, very transactional, and vote on a very local basis, and the political structure rewards those who break from their party to get ahead. The default is Democratic but it is ALWAYS possible for a Republican or an independent to be elected mayor. It’s been that way for over a century.

Endorsement vs threat to deport, merely semantics and just funsin around.

2009 was the last time a "Republican" was elected. Of course it's possible, but it's not anywhere close to likely this time around. Both of the "realistic" opponents are deeply unpopular, the Republican candidate is a complete lame duck weirdo who got trounced by Adams last go-around and neither Adams or Cuomo have anything close to the same motion that Bloomberg did.

I get that Muslims scare liberals, but it'll be fine.

This “hometown” fucking hates him and can’t wait to have him looking up at us complaining about the temperature. If you think “strip him of his citizenship, arrest him, deport him” is the same as “I think Andrew yang would be a better mayor than Adams”, then you are fucking stupid as dog shit and not worth the time. It’s not likely, but saying a Republican or independent could never get elected is  like when people said Donald Trump couldn’t get a truly fair trial in New York City. The opposite is true. It’s probably the only place where he could get one.  Likewise, NYC is probably the only huge city that is local enough for a Republican to win a partisan election for mayor.
That’s why these takes about what the Mamdani win means for the Democratic Party so silly. It doesn’t mean anything. NYC is not representative of the rest of the country.

Plenty of New Yorkers in Florida love him. Also he has gotten twice as popular in NYC based on numbers: 839k votes in 2024 compared to only 495k in 2016.

The bolded is an example of you creating something out of thin air and attributing it to me. What’s that called?

They're not silly at all and of course they don't mean nothing. YOU want it to mean nothing, but that just isn't reality. No one is saying NYC is representative of the entire country, that is a stupid fucking strawman that milquetoast shitlibs like yourself came up with.

For the Democratic party specifically, it is a direct shot at the gerontocracy, evidenced by the complete and utter racist panic that his nomination has instilled in the Democratic leadership and liberals such as yourself. If it meant nothing, they/you wouldn't care. You are coping and it's pathetic. Just shut the fuck up and stop embarrassing yourself.

and besides that there’s articles from Biden term talking about how Trump would go into nyc once a week as a break from being holed up with my pillow guy and Nick Fuentes in bedminster.

Trump, who officially became a Florida resident in 2019, had spent little time in New York after he took office in 2017. He visited only a handful of times as president, and officially decamped to his Mar-a-Lago club in Florida after leaving the White House in 2021.” AP article

I’m curious as to what his shirt budget is. He has to sweat that orange shit all over his shirts daily and he can only wear them one time because of the stains.

It very clearly means something to senior Democratic leadership and Democratic donors. You can wishcast about it meaning nothing at all as much as you want, you're still wrong. You can come back later and apologize when it turns out I'm right.

Had it been any other litigant, Kaczmaryk would have shot the suit into the sun in a matter of weeks.

Ask Johnny McEntee. I haven’t heard his name mentioned much since the inauguration, if at all, but I’m sure he’s busy screening for true Trump loyalists at all levels of the administration. He’s apparently managed to stay under the radar.

I'm not trying to make excuses for these folks, mind you.  I just think it's an oversimplification to believe that all Trumpkins are stupid or racist.  Most of them are.  But not all.  Some are just gullible, and the difference between gullible and stupid might be subtle, but it's probably important.

Conmen like the stupid and gullible equally.

My brain reels as we head to Trump’s fifth 4th of July as President.

For the first time, I identify with Patricia Arquette in Pulp Fiction. America has been carried in by Vincent Vega in the middle of the night, overdosed and near death. With no reliable medical skills, I’m in the background watching with sick fascination as we head into uncharted territory with an adrenaline shot to the heart. I wonder how long the old girl can hang on.
