'fuck your feelings' people turned out to have a lot of feelings

It was the beginning of the "every accusation is a confession" movement.  That is their entire existence.  It pairs well with fascism.

For real, I don't know how people can't see this.  Literally everything they complain about or accuse Dems of is what they actually do right out in the open.  It's insanity.

Damn I'm watching Trump live in the Oval Office with Findland's president Stubb. Stubb is so vastly more intelligent and well spoken than Trump it's comical. Dotard literally sounds like a special needs child when speaking next to Stubb.

Trump is a special needs child, so that checks out.

I just saw that Turning Point USA is going to have "counter-programming" during Bad Bunny's Super Bowl halftime performance.

What a bunch of fucking children.  No, wait, that's what they do and cover up.  Apparently that's very legal and very cool as long as no one speaks Spanish while they're doing it.

I remember the old days when we didn't need a programming alternative to stuff that we claimed to not give a shit about.  Personally, I just didn't watch and went about my day.  But, hooray safe spaces!!

Personally, I love that Band of Racists, USA, feels like it has to run an "All American Halftime Show" as COUNTER-programming for a halftime show featuring.....an American.

Gosh.  The issue can't be that he's not an American.  What, oh WHAT could it possibly be?

But remember, Turning Point USA isn't racist, right @Enchubben?

So they’re just going to tune in for the football parts and commercials, continuing to provide NFL viewership that pays for Bad Bunny? Kay. Really got them there.

I bought they were already boycotting the nfl since they went woke and allowed kneeling before games? And I thought they were already boycotting the Super Bowl halftime for allowing Kendrick Lamar to perform rap music? Not sure you can triple down on a boycott, but I guess when you’re stupid enough to support Trump anything is possible!

Murka!

But-and follow me here-if they all tune into the "All-Racist....err, American Halftime Show,' how will they know what to be outraged about? I mean, if they don't actually see or hear the afront to their wet tissue soft sense of security, will they still be threatened?

And if Lee Greenwood does get the gig, he should be forced to play the most blatant money grab of all time that he's tried to scrub from history.

cheaper just to have a 15 minute video of Latino kids being chased by ICE officers and have AI write a Greenwood knock-off for background music. Sell lots of tickets. Pocket all that cash.

So the president sent a private message (so he thought) to his AG, directing her to prosecute his enemies. And basically said "I don't care if there isn't evidence, I want them in jail, for revenge!". And there is zero movement for impeachment, unless I have missed it.

If you're not going to impeach for this, then everyone with a (D) next to their name needs to be explaining why not. Like, constantly. Because he's committing impeachable acts every day, and we're approaching a period, if we're not already there, where a large percentage of our population thinks it is normal for the president to do Watergate stuff every day. I don't know, maybe a coordinated message saying, if nothing else, "THIS ISN'T NORMAL. PLEASE DON'T FORGET THAT".

Their refusal to publicly talk about his conduct as impeachable going all the way back to 2017 drives me nuts. He was doing impeachable shit a dozen times every day even in his first term, now it's hundreds of times a day.  Their excuse is that they don't have the votes, as if they couldn't use the Republicans' refusal to do their duty against them politically. And now a majority of the public doesn't think anything actually warrants impeachment, because the implied message from Dems for nearly a decade has been "it's only impeachable if we have the votes, otherwise it's fine."

i feel dirty even typing this, but impeachment talks and even actual impeachment gets us nowhere. i would argue they help him, make him stronger, galvanize his base, and distract from all the terrible shit they're doing. and i would win that argument.

this bitchass clown is going to have to die or we're going to have to wait him out and fuck up his agenda next november.

Then we need daily explanations why they aren't even attempting to impeach a president who is doing daily Watergates.

And now that the SC has given Trump the ability to commit crimes, what else is there besides impeachment?

This guy admits to taking away freedom of speech because certain expressions of it “agitate” him.  Should we just do nothing?

i provided the 2 alternatives.

the issue with the roy cohn/bannon/trump playbook of "accuse the other side of what you are already doing" is that he has spent 10 years saying people are out to get him. so when the dems move to impeach him again, his base will think he's right. same as accusing others of rigging elections being the reason why nobody dared question the very questionable results of the 2024 election.

from cnn to snl, we normalized him. now we're eating shit for it. short of 15 gop senators coming to dem leadership in secret and proposing a plan, we're well and truly fucked.

Here's the thing: his thesis is not wrong.

When you are dealing with a pathetic, lizard-brained fool who is motivated by rewards (and he defines what rewards matter to him -- in this case, he's made one such reward quite clear), manipulating him by dangling the prospect of that reward in front of him is an elementary tactic.  Fuck, if you are involved in a situation involving conflict, dangling "dude, if you pull this off, you should TOTALLY get the Peace Prize" in front of him is a fucking no-brainer.

He is incredibly manipulable.  Sure, you have to be in a position where you have, or can present a path to, something he wants.  I'm sure that if there was a state actor out there who had cloned Ivanka into a sex slave, they'd have a good play as well.  But if you have or can help deliver something he wants (not for the greater good, or anything like that, mind you - remember, we're talking about a narcissist, so it's only about things he wants for himself), then you can fucking play him.  And you'd be dumb not to.

Maybe I would be more sensitive had I not been circumcised myself. But off the top of my head, I really think this is more about appearances than anything factual.
It’s sad because eventually we’re going to need to clean this stuff up and there’s likely nothing in these ‘studies’ that can pass the smell test… especially when you pull back the curtain to expose who’s heading up these studies and efforts.

It might be cheesy to say, but it’s a bad look for America.

It started in 2016.  Things that Trump wants: adulation, praise, money, a Nobel Peace Prize, to be able to fuck Ivanka.  All of those things except Ivanka have been used to manipulate Trump into certain postions.

The Saudis and Qataris have used a mix of money and adulation/praise, for example.  Zelensky is, as we speak, dangling a path to a Nobel Peace Prize in front of Trump to try to get him to give them Tomahawks.  Putin manipulated him for years with money, and then fear (fear is a great motivator for a narcissist).  And the list goes on.

Now, if your concern is that not much of that manipulation has lined up with the interests of the United States, well.....the interest of the United States ain't got nothin' to do with shit.  I'm just telling you that plenty of actors have manipulated him and continue to do so.

Cool, I am sure they will get a load of eyeballs and it will hurt the NFL ratings! Bad Bunny is only the, checks notes, 2nd most streamed artist of all time behind another maga thorn Taylor. I am sure Lee greenwood will pull enough viewers from a guy who has over 90 billion streams to matter.

Here is what will happen. They will put the event on, nobody will watch and as they leave whatever shithole they can rent out....nobody will get paid. MAGA!

So what happens in a month or a year, when Trump is watching SNL and doesn't like a joke, and tells Pam Bondi to arrest Lorne Michaels? And then she does. "Inciting violence" or "treason" or whatever. It doesn't matter, just like the charges against Comey and James don't matter. They are fabrications. At some point, soon, that will be met with shrugs. And not just with the maga folks. "Well, the president wanted him arrested, so he was arrested. That's how it is in this country." How soon do we get to that point?

The president has always been able to do that. No one has because what gonna happen with comey happens bits a complete waste of time outside of the headlines

but...

All of those addressed in the Lawfare piece have clear defenses such that the case never would have been brought by a normal US Attorney.

But the Lawfare piece also mentions, but does not delve into, a second Norfolk property, which seems to be the subject of the indictment.
