My husband and I are looking to get a couple Glocks. We have a shotgun already. I’m not a gun guy, but through some research found that a Glock is a good beginner gun

if you are not gun people, my only recommendation is to choose a caliber and weapon that does not have a ton of recoil.

And often people are not as familiar with a semi-automatic, and working the slide is hard for some people.  My recommendation is to get a Ruger LCR revolver in .327.    this will go against the grain of many people here, but I don’t think I need to go against the entire zombie nation, I most likely will need to defend my home against intruders looking to steal stuff.

That Ruger revolver means you can shoot the very effective and powerful .327 cartridge, but also 32 magnum 32 regular and 32 short.   You will be able to find a cartridge that you can manage without flinching.   Being accurate and placing your shots is far more important than having some hand cannon that you can’t hit what you were aiming at.

Lastly, a revolver is as uncomplicated as it gets and is a reliable weapon.  I’m an older guy and so I love me some wheel guns.   My final suggestion would be that when you purchase them, you take them to a gun range and find out which ammo caliber and brands your gun likes and you like. When you find the right ammunition that you will be using for self protection, make sure you practice at the range with that exact ammunition. You need to be comfortable and proficient firing your gun.

Anything less than being comfortable and skilled is a danger to you and a danger to others.  if you ever need to use it, you do not want to be nervous and unfamiliar with using it.

Good luck.

I guess this proves that there is no "deep state" controlling everything, and that we are being run by a group of disorganized sociopaths.

If there was a deep state, Trump would have been off'd a long ass time ago.

Not a lawyer, not even close, but a bunch of you guys are.  Help me understand or give some clarity.   If they come get me off the street(say it’s the student from up in the NE).   They then fly me blindfolded to Lake Charles or Alvarado(these are the two big facilities I’m aware of).  So they are saying they are detained in Louisiana or Texas and not where they are taken?   So what’s the period called where you’re taken off the street and flown to a final destination?   How is that not kidnapping?

Absolutely fucking wild!  And of course Kasmerick sits as a fed judge in Texas.  They want friendly judges who support this shit

I get that, mine too.  But how is it legal to call Texas or Louisiana where everyone is detained.  If they cuff me, they are detaining me right then and there, correct?

fuck this - brisket is 10000% correct.  Blood is going to happen when anyone tries to detain anyone now.

I honestly don't understand what nuance you're looking for here. it's kidnapping and disappearing of american citizens. there is no spin here. none of this is legal.

@Wally Fairway Corruption and authoritarianism have been at the heart of America’s modern conservative movement my entire life, as attested to by this asshole who was president when I was born.

Non-histrionicism?

It's sad that a guy with some faith in the system gets insulted and shouted down like this. No dissenting opinions allowed? Sounds familiar. I haven't lost all hope yet, and for good reason.  None of this shit has played out, despite what anyone says. If all of you really believed that the Republic was dead, why haven't you done something?  I mean, something other than lament it on the internet. If the courts abandon the Constitution and bend the knee or if Trump Co. openly violates a final court order, then I'll believe it's over.

I was where you are now back during Trump's first term and while the wheels of justice slowly ground to a halt during Biden's term.

I'm now fully out on Brisket's ledge.

I don't think it's nuance as much as people are trying to make sense of the potential logistics of it all.  So you're stopped on the street, put in cuffs, and stuffed into a van.  After that, I assume you're blindfolded and either taken to a random holding facility or straight to the airport.  Is it there where someone tells you "I hope you told your family you loved them this morning because you'll never see them again.  You're going to a South American torture prison where you will eventually die."

Or do they take a page from the family separators at the border and lie the way ICE told parents that their kids would be returned to them after a medical evaluation?

I'm not sure what exactly is gained from this clarification, but it's a mind-boggling series of events that we're witnessing and will likely need to explain to our kids someday.

From what's been reported, they don't tell the people they kidnap where they're taking them or give them the opportunity to contact anyone. The only practical way for anyone who has been detained to file a habeas petition is for a friend or family member to know that they've been taken and hire a lawyer for them. If you're kidnapped, you have no way of knowing where you and you have no way of hiring an attorney for yourself.

I am starting to believe that the reason the administration is fighting so hard not to return this guy is because he is dead.

No other position makes sense.  Normalcy would dictate that you would want to correct an obvious wrong if you could.  They cant because the dude is dead.

in 20 years we'll have the premiere of 'Rendition 2: Orange Boogaloo'.

Last I looked, all of your posts are still up for all to see. So yes, dissenting opinions are allowed. People telling you what they think of your opinions, also allowed.  Which means this site is currently one up on the USA as far as free speech goes.

Also because people are poor. I’ve already seen a decrease in the Walmart people type tourists on Maui

There was no explanation, no warning. One minute, I was in an immigration office talking to an officer about my work visa, which had been approved months before and allowed me, a Canadian, to work in the US. The next, I was told to put my hands against the wall, and patted down like a criminal before being sent to an Ice detention center without the chance to talk to a lawyer.

Man, y'all even remember two weeks ago when Signalgate was one of the most blatantly stupid actions of the Trump administration, and someone was going to have to face accountability, for realz this time? Such simpler times.

Maybe Laura Loomer can brush up on international trade policy, go suck dotard's dick, and end this stupid tariff war.

That or Elon Musk handing Donald $100B cash in a Scrooge McDuck swimming pool. Legitimately might be our best two options.
