Just make sure the safety course is worth it vs. just ticking a box.   I never took one, but my buddy who was ex-military took one and felt like it was a complete waste of time.

Why would exmilitary need a class? ex Police and military in good standing should just clep out of it.

Civilians should prove in person they know how to clean, load, and handle a weapon safely before playing around with it. It should be a minimum requirement that would infringe upon no one’s rights.

shocker.  History is going to look back on this as a horrifying ethnic cleansing genocide and America just sat there and watched.

You mean shoveled weapons and ammo into the hands of the genociders while loudly and proudly reaffirming our murder-suicide pact with them at every opportunity. Standing by passively would be a hundred thousand times more defensible.

He was air force, qualified with the Beretta but hadn't really used one.  He thought they might give him more tips since it had been a while.   Funny thing is that I breezed through the gun range's "test" (for a rental) without having any prior knowledge or experience really.  Don't necessarily disagree on having the last sentence.  However, if they asked me to load it, in the store, I would have told them to fuck off though.

Not really . She’s a democrat that ran for office and lost. Her schtick is to get attention.

So her solution was to vote for the party that openly hates her?  Bold strategy cotton.

Yeah it's basically like if the US was smuggling fucktons of Zyklon B to the Nazis.

Low/no recoil with a 1.87" barrel?  And MSRP is ~$850 but you can find it on sale for ~$600.  Nevermind that fact that ammo prices for .327 and even .32 ACP  is outrageous compared to 9mm.  For $600 there is a plethora of better options.

1) I own two revolvers with 1.87 inch barrels in .32 caliber.   Firing .32 long is barely more than a .22 recoil.   I would be surprised if your experience was different.

2) nothing about the discussion involved the price of ammo.  i’m not saying that’s not a valid consideration in some circumstances, but the poster in question can probably buy any ammo he wants.

3) .32 ACP is not a revolver round, but an auto round.

Options? Lord, nobody will ever agree on guns.  My recommendation was solely based on the fact that the potential user was not a gun guy, and for a variety of reasons a person who does not train actively would likely be more comfortable with a revolver.  It eliminates the uncertainty of a safety if one is present, and folks who are not gun people usually prefer a safety. Maybe it was my assumption, but a wife who is not gun friendly he might eventually try to coax into being familiar with a weapon would find firing 32 short or long to be as user-friendly as possible.  Many women find operating a slide on a semi auto to be difficult and/or a dealbreaker.

The .327 is an outstanding defense round.  Which was one of the concerns for him, but not the only concern.

A Hi-Point 9 and some white box. ammo would definitely be cheaper.

Feel free to message me, but I won’t gun up the leopard’s thread anymore.

but full disclosure, I’m a .327 fanboi

Price of ammo is a complete non-starter.  Frankly, price of the gun isn't much of an issue either.  I mean, I don't want to go $2K or something like that but if I could find something I could learn on and practice at a range with on the regular, that would be awesome.

I think I'm going to update my firearms for sale thread to "no longer for sale" for the time being.  Now where did I stash that ammo?

You say that but when a trip to the range ends up costing $50+ (ammo plus range fee) it adds up.   Plus, like a lot of us, you'll stock up a little and that's when it, uh, gets out of control.

Right guys?   RIGHT?!?

It would be like that if we were also responsible for throwing our weight around to single-handedly keep the Nazi government in existence in the first place, while proudly announcing ourselves as their staunchest ally over and over

Geez, everything there is telling. She is one of those "likes to argue" people. Either picking fights by yelling insults at everyone or just finding slight in any and every word uttered to her.

But yeah, that last tweet she really does show how dumb she is. She acts like every trash novel writer is Danielle Steele or Nora Roberts when most are just scraping by. And completely neglecting the work done by Steele and Roberts.

He didn't play them.  They played themselves.

Trump's superpower is his ability to get people to do that all the damned time. He's not even a particularly good salesman. He's not sophisticated or clever and he's incredibly low effort. He just lies off the cuff and tons of people buy it. It shouldn't work, even on stupid people. That shit wouldn't even cut it as a used car salesman. But because he was born into money and entirely shameless, it got him a ton of fame and there are millions of people that would buy literal dogshit from him if he spray painted it yellow and told them it was gold.

You know, I myself once dabbled in this thought process.  Not now of course.  Because it has been proven, over and over, for a decade, that it does, INDEED, work on stupid people.  Of which, I have found, there are WAY more than I could ever have comprehended.

Not paying attention in middle school civics and a smattering of econ in social studies really paid off for these people.  Oh well, nevertheless.

When I told my father that tariffs on imported goods, beget domestic producers raising prices in response, he was stunned.  He never imagined that could happen.   Then he just stated they wouldn't.
