Hitting the podcast circuit should be a big focus of Democratic politicians everywhere. The focus on door knocking and phone banking is just bizarre. In person rallies are only good in the sense that it provides good images and sound bites. This isn't the 20th century.

They need to find a way to reach loser young dudes.

The Dems should 100% pay for messaging via the hottest Instagram and Onlyfans personalities.  You think I'm kidding.  I'm not.

Sure, cast a metaphorical wide net. But don't forget the folks like @Vic Mackey that just prefer an actual wide one.

I think you’re referring to their communication medium and potential messaging.

I have something different in mind, which is they need to resolve to fix the problems faced by loser young dudes that aren’t of their own making.

Otherwise they are going to continue to be a voting block that votes “asshole” by default simply because the Democrats seek to elevate every group but them.

This idea that he would only do the things that they agree with is incredibly narcissistic.

then again, the number of folks that believe their own circumstances matter but nobody else’s do is just staggering to internalize. MY Medicare/medicaid/food stamps/fema funds/child care/disability/social security is important and essential, but you can take everyone else’s away, those fucking freeloaders.

To be fair Trump says a lot of shit he never follows thru on.

I hope what's not included is unaffordable tax cuts for the rich that will continue our path to oblivion.

Once they gut the IRS there won't be anyone to collect, so tax breaks for all!

That’s just like a heathen liberal who does not want to pay the new mandatory 10% tithe to the Church of Patriot America* would say.

(* i’m afraid that someone will eventually explain to him how Henry the VIII creating the church of England allowed  him to seize all non-affiliated church properties - and keep them himself to pass out to his buddies)

Why did the God-hating Communist Democrats do this?

See we’re all laughing, but this is what I meant a few years ago when I said Democrats were nationally evolving towards Texas. It’s like Texas public schools.  Republicans will fuck up the VA, and everything else. And then they will blame Democrats. And Democrats will let them, because the Democrat candidate and activist class are so shielded by privilege that they simply can’t related to the lives of the people who get hurt and consequently can’t communicate with them effectively.

True enough, but if you're paying attention, you never can tell which is which.  If he says it, there's substantial risk he's gonna do it.  The stupider and more outrageous it is, the more likely he'll do it.

Like taking over Greenland and Panama? He’s never going to do either. The most outrageous stuff he says is just to distract from the other sinister stuff he’s actually doing.

Dipshit wants to pave over the Rose Garden.  Because of course he does.

At this point, I presume he wants to pave over the Rose Garden to construct a coal-fired power plant with zero scrubbers, built by slave labor.  Because boy, that's super anti-woke!

The democrats that are loud are labeled communists and aren’t backed by the olds in the party - AOC for example.

I like AOC and I know she was young,  but joining the DSA was a colossally stupid thing to do. I don’t blame Democrats for shitting on them, because the DSA are often the most out of touch and counterproductive faction in a very out of touch and counterproductive party.

So who is the most in touch and productive part then?

Yeah, the R's were smart about keeping the common-gooders and P2025ers under wraps until it was more or less safe to unleash them.  For fuck's sake, at least take the "socialist" out of the name.

Which is why the Republicans have so many minority and women candidates - and the Democrats don’t?

Snark aside, and with due respect, I think you also fall into the trap of thinking that GOP fans give a shit about Democrats who “relate” to them - if the Democrats keep on insisting on diversity, inclusion, gay rights, women’s rights, vaccine use, and all of those things that voters in those deep red rural districts do not….relate….to.

It’s hard to keep the peasants with pitchforks from attacking your democratic balloon - unless you tell them the balloon is an anti-woke weapon that lets you drop bombs on the criminal illegals.   They would relate to that better than saying “science has allowed mankind to fly like the birds God created.”

TL;DR

How do you get them to relate to you when the things that they do relate to are things antithetical to the Democratic vision of governance?

One of the guys in my office was all smiles the day after the election, grinning from ear to fucking ear.  His 2 year federal probationary period ends in a couple of weeks.  I'm not sure how this is going to turn out, but I can't say that I'm not enjoying him sweating it out.

So, how's he doing?

Sidenote: I see Musk is looking at NASA now.

I think NASA was his play all along. He had to do these other groups to "hide" that and train up the team.

What stops him from modifying his own contracts? "Me get a contract? Never, in fact they OWE me money. 600M pls."

Oh, and sole source development to me of something else please.

Who am I kidding. he would never say please

No offense intended, but I think you missed that the point is about class and privilege. And since you aren’t grounded in their class, you don’t relate either.
Or at least I don’t think you do, because that is the only way I can explain starting with a rhetorical question about demographic avatars and finishing with a rhetorical question about “them.”
