Low/no recoil with a 1.87" barrel?  And MSRP is ~$850 but you can find it on sale for ~$600.  Nevermind that fact that ammo prices for .327 and even .32 ACP  is outrageous compared to 9mm.  For $600 there is a plethora of better options.

1) I own two revolvers with 1.87 inch barrels in .32 caliber.   Firing .32 long is barely more than a .22 recoil.   I would be surprised if your experience was different.

2) nothing about the discussion involved the price of ammo.  i’m not saying that’s not a valid consideration in some circumstances, but the poster in question can probably buy any ammo he wants.

3) .32 ACP is not a revolver round, but an auto round.

Options? Lord, nobody will ever agree on guns.  My recommendation was solely based on the fact that the potential user was not a gun guy, and for a variety of reasons a person who does not train actively would likely be more comfortable with a revolver.  It eliminates the uncertainty of a safety if one is present, and folks who are not gun people usually prefer a safety. Maybe it was my assumption, but a wife who is not gun friendly he might eventually try to coax into being familiar with a weapon would find firing 32 short or long to be as user-friendly as possible.  Many women find operating a slide on a semi auto to be difficult and/or a dealbreaker.

The .327 is an outstanding defense round.  Which was one of the concerns for him, but not the only concern.

A Hi-Point 9 and some white box. ammo would definitely be cheaper.

Feel free to message me, but I won’t gun up the leopard’s thread anymore.

but full disclosure, I’m a .327 fanboi

Price of ammo is a complete non-starter.  Frankly, price of the gun isn't much of an issue either.  I mean, I don't want to go $2K or something like that but if I could find something I could learn on and practice at a range with on the regular, that would be awesome.

I think I'm going to update my firearms for sale thread to "no longer for sale" for the time being.  Now where did I stash that ammo?

You say that but when a trip to the range ends up costing $50+ (ammo plus range fee) it adds up.   Plus, like a lot of us, you'll stock up a little and that's when it, uh, gets out of control.

Right guys?   RIGHT?!?

Geez, everything there is telling. She is one of those "likes to argue" people. Either picking fights by yelling insults at everyone or just finding slight in any and every word uttered to her.

But yeah, that last tweet she really does show how dumb she is. She acts like every trash novel writer is Danielle Steele or Nora Roberts when most are just scraping by. And completely neglecting the work done by Steele and Roberts.

He didn't play them.  They played themselves.

Trump's superpower is his ability to get people to do that all the damned time. He's not even a particularly good salesman. He's not sophisticated or clever and he's incredibly low effort. He just lies off the cuff and tons of people buy it. It shouldn't work, even on stupid people. That shit wouldn't even cut it as a used car salesman. But because he was born into money and entirely shameless, it got him a ton of fame and there are millions of people that would buy literal dogshit from him if he spray painted it yellow and told them it was gold.

You know, I myself once dabbled in this thought process.  Not now of course.  Because it has been proven, over and over, for a decade, that it does, INDEED, work on stupid people.  Of which, I have found, there are WAY more than I could ever have comprehended.

When I told my father that tariffs on imported goods, beget domestic producers raising prices in response, he was stunned.  He never imagined that could happen.   Then he just stated they wouldn't.

IIRC we put a tariff on foreign cars in the mid-70s to lower competition from Japan and Germany.  So instead of selling more cars the Big 3 just raised their prices and made more money selling Mustang IIs and Vegas.

Why bother being competitive when the government will step in for you?

What, you don't think Trump has built a reputation as a follower of Christ and his teachings, or about empathy to his fellow man?  Not sure what you're been paying attention to.

And when I think Republicans, I definitely think about their rich history taking care of the lower income groups with access to affordable healthcare, housing, and education.  This is totally off brand!

Why would exmilitary need a class? ex Police and military in good standing should just clep out of it.

Civilians should prove in person they know how to clean, load, and handle a weapon safely before playing around with it. It should be a minimum requirement that would infringe upon no one’s rights.

My kid?  2 combat tours as 11-B.  Team leader, squad leader.  Drill Sergeant.  Now Apache Pilot in Command.   Does he need a gun class?  He probably know more than the instructor.

My GF's kid?   Served honorably in USAF.  Re-enlisted.  Honorably discharged.  Now serves in the Air National Guard.  His service is every bit as honorable as my kid's but, if he touched a gun, he'd probably shoot himself in the dick.  IIRC, he had a couple of hours at the range firing M-16's in basic.  He hasn't touched a firearm since then. He would totally ask for my advice about guns, and I never served.

"Military" means different shit.

I get it. Between 2015-16, my Dad went from joking about Trump to voting for him. And my Mom got me a My Pillow at one point. Both have advanced degrees and Catholic. Abortion was their gateway issue.

Fortunately, they liked other shows than FOX and were decent to be with. RIP.

I am so glad my parents are basically computer illiterate and never set up a fb account and that they never watched Fox News. If my immediate family were also trumpkins, I would for sure be long gone to another state not thinking twice

It's definitely affected how frequently I talk to and see mine. And that fucking sucks. They've always been Rush/FOX "conservatives" (shit, so was I by osmosis), but they at least had the decency to keep that shit in check in polite company. The combination of Trump, COVID, and internet/social media in your pocket* has just broken so many people, especially seniors, where the floodgates for appropriate conversation have been breached. They find ways to bring the most innocuous comments back to politics--California stealing everyone's taxes, people wearing masks in cars, BLM, men playing women's sports, all the hits--at every opportunity. It's exhausting and a beating to be around.

*as with most, I'm sure, my Dad started small with morning check-ins to see what Drudge had to say and maybe a little O'Reilly Factor at night. Now, with smart phones, it's a constant addiction to Truth Social and OAN/Newsmax/etc.

I think I shared before that one tiny upside to my father passing away in 2015 from lung cancer is he didn't live to this era. He was already going down the Fox News Obama is the worst thing ever rabbit hole. He definitely would've voted for Trump and probably gone full MAGA. We agreed to not talk about politics around each other and I'm glad he didn't become someone that I could no longer look up to. I'm glad I'm left with good memories of him before he died. I would hate to be in a situation to have to cut him off or dodge his calls and texts.

My mother was a fwd>fwd>fwd emailer, and a staunch Republican. She likely voted for tfg in 16, but was quiet about doing so. Then Patrick asked her to die for the economy. Problem solved.

They fucking TOLD you what they planned to do.  They did it.  To you.  And NOW you are surprised and disappointed by the obvious, inevitable, and completely forecast consequence of your vote.  I know, I know, that's the whole subject of this thread, but as much experience and perspective as I now have in life, I will never stop being surprised at how utterly stupid some people are.

I have to believe that SOME, but not all, of them paid attention to absolutely nothing until right before the election.  Then it's possible they didn't actually hear what was being screamed loud and proud from the right about what they were going to do.

Doesn't excuse their vote at all and I'm taking much joy in watching the leopards feast, but it gives me some solace that MAYBE not all of these people are THAT dumb, they were just privy to the wrong media.  It's a nice dream anyway.
