They should've said Carney was for they/them.

I assume that calling your opposition clowns in a political ad is a gasp-worthy, devastating insult in Canada.

I also cannot for the life of me figure out what Mark Carney "said" about down payments. What the fuck kind of segue was that? Maybe your kids are struggling because they're fucking losers raised by fucking losers who suck at golf.

so basically every western democracy has managed to rebuff their right-wing/fascist parties but us?

maybe we are exceptional lol

Most Western democracies have a more... intimate...history with fascists and are more keenly aware of their consequences. I guess you have to learn by doing.

Well, UK got their taste with Brexit, Boris, and Truss.  The parliamentary system allows a quicker reaction than ours and less time for the dullards to engage their recency bias.

You can always count on the Americans to do the right thing, after they have exhausted all the other possibilities.

Yeah....old Winston may have been too optimistic.  It may need to be tweaked to "you can always count on Americans to do something shitty, because Americans are shitty."

Well..... Um....

President Trump's top policy adviser, Stephen Miller, is garnering buzz inside the White House as a top candidate to be the next national security adviser, five sources familiar with the situation say.

Why it matters: Miller — the deputy chief of staff and the brain behind Trump's controversial immigration crackdown — is one of the president's longest-serving and most-trusted aides.

  • Miller's name surfaced shortly after Trump removed Mike Waltz as national security adviser on Thursday and nominated Waltz to become the next United Nations ambassador.
  • Secretary of State Marco Rubio is temporarily taking over Waltz's responsibilities, but sources familiar with his thinking say he's busy enough running the State Department.

Now we are well into our “Neo-Nazis are fine people and it’s the rest of you who are bad” phase.

Unintentionally hilarious post is funny.

Mark Carney meeting with Trump tomorrow. Pretty tough position for Carney to be in after what happened with Zelensky, but hopefully he stands strong for Canada.

Seems to have worked out fine for Ukraine

Propaganda is only a bad word if you don't like what's being said

I mean, it generally connotes being at worst an outright lie or at best a dishonest representation of the facts. Neither of those is great, imo

You're describing agitative propaganda.

Normal propaganda is simply information presented in such a way as to be persuasive to your audience. If, for example, you're describing to a group of people how XYZ Politics Thing works and how it can benefit them, you are propagandizing. It doesn't mean you're necessarily being dishonest in any way at all.

It is being dishonest if the benefit does not out outweigh the negative.

During his campaign, Carney frequently took the piss out of Pierre Poilievre, who wants to be Trump so badly you can taste it.  Between that and the assumption that there will be an ambush attempt, I'm not worried about him.

The secret should be out that Trump is a paper tiger and there's no detriment to going right at him, minus an angry, stupid tweet.

I want to see Carney just gush about Trump and (saracastically) kiss his ass to the point of it being uncormfatble  Then, when it's so over the top that even Trump is like WTF, unleash with "I just can't do it.   I can't bend the knee to such a gibbering piece of trash."  And then walk out of the meeting.
