Honest question - did we ever see the empty shelves that were supposedly coming when the port traffic all dried up?

I didn't

I haven't seen "empty" shelves, but there's definitely been fewer items behind the front two or three in all the stores I go to regularly. Prices are higher, there's less selection, and I've noticed produce quality getting worse at an HEB that had killer stuff for the last five years

Trump:  "Check the tariffs......"

"Sir" - His most obvious tell about yet another lie.

“Sir” is at best #3 on the list behind “his mouth is moving” and “accordion hands”.

“I got a call from Congress” is hilarious. As he gets older he doesn’t even try sometimes.

It’s Congress on Line 2. All 535 of them.

His caller ID on the phone just says "Congress" for any rep or senator.  Makes it easier that way.

Why suspend the tariffs if they are making us so much money ? Double them !

It sure seems irresponsible not to. We're raking in all this cash... make them 300% across the board!

I understand from a previous Trump tweet some time ago that the world was racing to agree to Trump’s tariffs and that responses to his executive orders were pouring in.

I haven’t been paying attention, so how did all that turn out? What are the Tariff rates for everybody now that it has been all worked out and businesses worldwide have a better idea how to plan their expenditures?

I think I’m gonna buy a bunch of cheap eggs - and then open a company selling breakfast sandwiches to all those drilling crews that will start work in a couple weeks to meet Trump’s drill baby drill order.

President Huff & Puff is pushed at Canada, over their digital services tax. And he started he would announce all negotiations have been cut off & and in 7 days he will announce his much they will pay to do business in the US.

Sounds like he means it this time. And just when indexes were at all time highs....queue the rollercoaster gifs

Is strategy can, at times, work.  Make your adversary so mad they can’t think straight and they make bad decisions.  Canada’s decision to throw that tax on seemed a bit rash.

at this point, it’s not so important what the tariff rates are, Canadians everywhere are on a mission not to buy a goddamn thing from America if they can help it.  Whether it’s for a generation or just this administration term I cannot say, but my guess would be Canadians won’t be vacationing in the USA or buying American bourbon anytime soon.

Genius! Don’t really negotiate with allies and trading partners, just send them a letter with what the tariffs percentage is that Trump likes, and I’m sure they will respond with a total absence of negativity.  Fart of the deal.

If any of this works, and apparently it sort of did with Canada, I think it will show us that not only is American leadership a bunch of dumb fucks, but so are many of the rest of the world’s leaders.

Well, compared to the rest of the world we are a heavily armed nuclear power, bully with tremendous economic influence, and political influence.

If our country was a person, a person with that capacity to do damage (who is not currently on their meds) could lead you to fake that you agree with that person until 1) they start taking their meds again or 2) until you can conspire with some of your pals to take the bully out.

Realize that most of these guys have just now understood the US is like an elephant that just snorted coke.  You probably just want to get out of the way for a while until the elephant crashes or finds something else to fuck up.  You aren’t winning a head to head battle.  So worst case, you fold, take a loss, and bide your time.  They don’t have have much of a choice.

how about maybe letting US companies know WTF is going to happen.  The amount of shit we are rushing into the states before 7/9 is crazy then planning to idle some factories until the next round of 'just kidding'
