It is amazing Brooks is 98 years old.

This will probably be meh but holy shit is there a lot of potential considering the amount of Star Wars stuff that has come out since he made it. Skewering The Last Jedi alone could be a whole movie by itself.

Yo if Rick Moranis can come out of retirement then I can watch it. Simple as that.

Also "An Animated Lion King...a Live Action ANIMATED Lion King" had me rolling.

As well as 8 HP movies...and the TV series remaking those movies.

Released by MGM in 1987, the original Spaceballs is an iconic send-up of the sci-fi genre, which took inspiration from the Star Wars franchise and other classics like 2001: A Space Odyssey. The plot revolves around the evil Dark Helmet (Moranis) and President Skroob (Brooks), who attempt to steal the atmosphere of the peaceful planet Druidia, only to be thwarted by the hero Lone Starr (Pullman), his sidekick Barf (John Candy), and the Druish princess Vespa (Daphne Zuniga). Others in the cast included Joan Rivers and Dick Van Patten. The film grossed just over $38.1 worldwide but has endured over the years as a cult classic.

I really thought it made more than $40. But that also explains why it took so long to greenlight a sequel.

It will be Jack Black

On reddit, a couple users were going back and forth about how they should spoof what Disney did with CGI Tarking and Leia.  Basically make it really bad CGI and splice in lines from the original for him that sounds off, then have some scene where they say "That's not barf!  That's just a crappy CGI emulation of him!"

I just hope this isn't one of "those" movies, where a long-awaited sequel is immediately forgotten by everyone five seconds after it's over. I'm looking at you Coming to America 2, Beetlejuice 2, Beverly Hills Cop 4, and whatever that Matrix movie was.

It might be but who cares. We're getting Rick Moranis back in a movie after almost 20 years of retirement.

The Matrix movie was awful. I couldn't even finish it.

This is incredible. Never thought I'd see the day. Such a sad story too. Lost his wife to cancer in '91 and retreated from acting to raise his kids.
