What I'd give for a team that actually runs up the fucking score and doesn't let opponents hang around

Posted Images

I heard on the radio this morning that Indiana has more living alumni than any other US college or university. I looked on wiki and they list their current systemwide enrollment as 110,000. The have a bunch of campuses around the state and consider them all part of the main university, even though a few play sports separately in the NAIA, so I guess they all consider themselves IU Hoosiers. It's not like like UT or Cal where the big system schools operate separately and have their own D1 athletics programs so there's no real loyalty to the main campus sports programs unless it's by independent choice. IU also has more promininet alumni than I thought, way beyond Cuban. The conversation was that there's no reason IU can't be a big time football program going forward if the investment is there even after Cignetti retires. With those resources though I'm surprised IU basketball hasn't made much noise over the last several decades except for a blip here and there since that's been their deal historically.

The key question is how many idiotic mistakes does Oregon make.

I'm probably going to bet Oregon moneyline. I think there is value there. If Indiana wins I think there is almost zero chance Oregon covers.

Dan Lanning is always good for a Herman like WTF idea each game.

The BOR plays a big part in that. Certain people get appointed and have an axe to grind. Maybe that blocks someone from getting fired, or maybe the prime candidate for the job doesn't get approved. Then sometimes the university prez decides to put their 2 cents in and push for what they want. It reminds me of what people say on here about UT football coaches. Only replace the BOR with the Big Cigars.

they are going to detonate a dirty bomb so an SEC team gets slotted into NC game?

If Miami gets to play football Barbie at home it's gonna suck so bad. Go Indiana (insert mascot here)s !

This board hates every ref ever.

Well, they're all out to get us.

I still believe Indiana is going to win it all. Cignetti is a mastermind. Also, I want anarchy and to see the team who loses to them cry literal tears of sadness.

The refs of every conference are worse than the refs of every other conference. And all refs also have a long-standing history of hating my particular football team specifically.

Signed,

Every fan from every team ever.

Candidly, that -3.5 (I know it's set by the money) looks low. I'd put Indiana at -6 as a Ducks fan. I simply do not think Oregon can beat them straight up without either some turnover luck, or we see Dante Moore put together a game that he's hinted at, but not done yet. Indiana's methodical offense is the perfect antidote to the Ducks bend but don't break style.

I can't even factor in the stupid shit Lanning will try. It seems to rarely work out, but maybe he'll strike lightening and a fake fieldgoal from his own 5 yard line will work.

I agree, the first game Indiana won by 10 and I think this time they win by at least a TD.

nit picking: its set by the all powerful gambling god Las Vegas. It moves based on the action. I believe it opened higher so the money likes Oregon.

Of course, as I said above, I agree generally with your summary. The only thing that keeps picking at my brain is Oregon had to be underestimating Indiana in the initial game. 135 moneyline implies a 39% chance of winning, which I think is a touch low.

I want Indiana to win and I think they will but a Lanning vs. Mario matchup could be hilarious. WTF decisions everywhere.

Plus all the questions Crystalball will get about facing his old team, we may get to see him stroke out.

I just can't account for Dante Moore, candidly. If Oregon's down field passing game comes together, they can put points on the board against anyone, and Moore could cement himself as the first pick. But it just never seems to quite happen for him. And Will Stein's love affair with WR screens tends to derail his rhythm, imo.

OTOH, half the Ducks running back room is in the transfer portal and Jordan Davidson is either hurt or out.

Worse than Penn State fans.

SIAP... Oregon in trouble tonight at RB.

  • Starting RB may be out

  • Backup RB out

  • Two other RBs may be in portal??

He consistently makes idiotic 4th down decisions.

Lanning definitely gives off Herman vibes...

Yeah? Let me know when Lanning steps it up on the throttle and marries a woman who tries to kill everyone on a plane by trying to open the doors mid-flight. Lanning is an amateur compared to Herman.

As mentioned above, Lannings problem is he decided to keep grinding his starting lineup against Tech despite the game being over. His team is beat up and just flew across the entire country.

Comparatively Indiana is pretty healthy . I think Cignetti has shown a much smaller tendency for performing brain dead maneuvers mid game .

I like Indiana until someone actually beats them, particularly against Miami

I think Oregon wins tonight and Cignetti won’t achieve this level of success again. But I don’t like Oregon and hope Indiana wins.

Last night was fun as hell. Don’t care who wins but would like another badass game

Lanning is like the villain (or the Brain in Pinky and the Brain) in every movie who tells everyone what he's about to do only to get shoved in a Costco trashcan.

Cignetti is more like someone who doesn't recognize good or evil, only moral flexibility, and will use it at any chance he gets. There is no morality/immorality, there just is, therefore he's more dangerous.

Looking forward to seeing Indiana usher in another fruitless Miami postseason

It's hard to beat a team twice. So there's that.

I’m rooting for an Oregon surprise

Already tired of the story. And this isn’t Rutgers or some other never win anything fanbase anywhere ever fanbase. These are fans of Indiana Hoosiers basketball…they got their sport. So fuck em.

Fuck you. And fuck Oregon.

Yesterday I picked, ole miss and the under

today I pick Indiana more than 3 and the over

Do as you please with said info

One thing is for sure, if Indiana gets up big this thread is gonna need a safe space from the barrage of Nicole posts.

If she gives a real-life BJ with the same relentless enthusiasm that she fellates Cignetti all over this board, then one of you single lads who doesn't have a lot going for you and nobody would really miss if you ended up at the bottom of a lake should shoot your shot.

Herbie looks like a fucking corpse.

I'll take the ducks, but I really don't care.

Hoping it's as fun as last night.

Buddy who is there says it feels like 95% IU. Like a home game.

Go Hoosiers.

That's about as enthusiastic as I can get.
