Tucker Carlson Tonight

Man, I know it's really difficult, almost impossible to do, but we just have to ignore this dude. His 3+ million regular viewers are already lost. Let them go. There's nothing that can be done to curtail his rhetoric. Our outage only makes him more popular.

You know that stage kids go thru where they're asking every conceivable question that can be asked?- "Why's the sky blue?" "Do cars always dream?" "Why do dogs like things?"

KIDS.

WILL.

NOT.

BE.

SILENCED.

There are THOSE who prefer these questions not be asked.

Hmmm.... Why is that?

Well folks, that's where a little thing called JOURNALISM comes in. Not to do any investigative research on our own, not to vet multiple sources, but just to go on air and marvel at the world like a newborn fascinated by the butterfly that has alit upon his nose. You don't claw your way to the top of America's #1 source for News food chain without being in a perpetual state of bafflement and wondering like a step-dad coming out of an alcoholic stupor just what the fuck is going on here?

Well, if there's anybody qualified to discuss the art of a WAP, it's everybody that has ever worked at FOX.  It's why FOX doesn't require real journalists since they can pimp the Tucker Carlson's of the world.  Let me guess--they shoveled faux indignation about the sanctity of whatever in comparison to what they do--whore out their souls for Murdoch.

What’s the political angle here? While I find him detestable, I can usually at least understand the political angle he is trying to push... but harping antivax shit makes it seem like he (and Fox) are willing to burn down the country out of spite.

Don't think too hard. Vaccination is the Biden Admin's top priority right now, so Tucker and Fox have to be against it. It really is that simple and dumb.

He’s not wrong, vaccines are always trade off. You have to decide if you want to not have polio or if you want to get a sweet iron lung, for example.

An iron lung, when placed on the right throw rug, can sometimes really tie a room together.

Is it just me or does anyone else happen to roll their eyes when Fox juxtaposes the label "highly sexual" with POC? I mean, make up their damn minds. They spend time squawking about how 'hot' their GOP women are and preach about 'be more like porn star wife, Melania' and then moan when women display signs about enjoying sex. I get it, and the trope regarding POC has been used for two centuries, but our species is so stupid sometimes.

I agree to an extent, but it is scary how he takes white supremacist talking points and presents them with a veneer of credibility on a major news network (I should have put credibility and news in quotes, but sadly that's not how many people see it). He really is the most dangerous person at Fox News and there has to be push back.

OK, so i went down the Tucker Carlson Wiki Rabbit Hole..

Quote

He [Carlson] was good friends with Nevada brothel owner Dennis Hof and attended his funeral in 2018

Quote

Hof was a close friend of Fox News personality Tucker Carlson. He once stated that he communicated with Carlson daily to give him ideas for his show

Quote

Hof died in his sleep at his Love Ranch South in Crystal, Nevada, on October 16, 2018, following a party for his 72nd birthday that had been attended by Joe Arpaio, Heidi Fleiss, Grover Norquist and Ron Jeremy, the last of whom found Hof unresponsive.

WTF. These conservatives are freaky, man.

He’s still pushing that replacement theory. My white vote is being deluded with brown votes

Quote

TUCKER CARLSON : I'm laughing because this is one of about 10 stories that I know you have covered where the government shows preference to people who have shown absolute contempt for our customs, our laws, our system itself and they are being treated better than American citizens. Now, I know that the left and all the little gatekeepers on Twitter become literally hysterical if you use the term "replacement," if you suggest that the Democratic Party is trying to replace the current electorate, the voters now casting ballots, with new people, more obedient voters from the Third World. But they become hysterical because that's what's happening actually. Let's just say it: That's true.

...

If you change the population, you dilute the political power of the people who live there. So every time they import a new voter, I become disenfranchised as a current voter. So I don't understand what we don't understand cause, I mean, everyone wants to make a racial issue out of it. Oh, you know, the white replacement theory? No, no, no. This is a voting right question. I have less political power because they are importing a brand new electorate. Why should I sit back and take that? The power that I have as an American guaranteed at birth is one man, one vote, and they are diluting it. No, they are not allowed to do it. Why are we putting up with this?

For the DT morons. It’s still one person, one vote. American votes don’t get diluted by other American voters.

It’s racist because he’s saying his white vote is being deluded by non-white votes.

By this logic, all of you motherfuckers dilute my vote.  My vote should be the only one that counts.

I wonder if there were newspaper columnists shameless enough to make such a stupid fucking argument about how voters were duty bound to be against the 19th amendment.

I only had to change two words! He had already used "one man, one vote" himself.

He’s saying a lot of horrible shit out loud.   Last night’s episode had him suggest that the Covid vaccines don’t work and the government is lying to everyone about them being effective.  He then lied about Trudeau supposedly admitting vaccines don’t work even though what Trudeau really said was that people still need to mask and distance for a while even though vaccines are being administered.

This fucker is evil.   A new Monmouth poll shows Republicans are more hesitant to get Covid vaccines now than in March as everyone else gets more comfortable with the vaccines.   Thanks, Tucker and your fellow ghouls in the grifter media.  Tucker’s monologue is apparently trending huge on Facebook, btw.

There’s more detail here if you want (from Allahpundit, who is one of only like 3 remaining decent right wing bloggers who didn’t sell out to Trumpism and idiotic grifting).  https://hotair.com/allahpundit/2021/04/14/fauci-slams-tucker-carlsons-crazy-conspiracy-theory-about-vaccine-efficacy-n383262

Nah. The case fatality rate of Covid is way too low.

What would be great is if the government would issue a public service announcement advising Americans not to jump off cliffs. Maybe note that the “international scientific community” has determined that jumping off cliffs is unsafe, that the right to cliff jump is not absolute under the Constitution, and that numerous progressive European countries regulate cliff jumping as part of their social welfare programs. Then let the Alex Joneses and Tucker Carlsons of the world do their contrarian conspiratorial magic.

But seriously, though, we probably shouldn’t do that because there’s a non-zero chance that it might just work. And that is really really sad.

Rush left a big hole when he died, although he had lost some weight. Tucker's trying mightily to fall into it.

Alex Jones makes no sense.  He makes far more than Jones ever did, and hell Jones washed as his little empire was pushed aside by the qanon crowd.

Limbaugh is an interesting angle, but still, Tucker has to know that he's close to Glenn Beck territory.
