How Fox News works

He actually looks pretty good for 61.  Not Ralph Macchio good, but not awful.

Having said that, as stated above...yeah, hoodie, unshaven, and medallion on national news interview?  C'mon dude, I know you're trying to project you don't give a fuck but you're not an A-lister who can be edgy by rocking your own look.  You're a former C-lister, at best.  That the Jesse Waters show is your first paying TV gig in decades should have been your first clue.

He looks like any number of 60 yr old divorced goombahs whose sole romantic activity is his regular Tuesday afternoon visits to the strip club where he is hopelessly devoted to Chantall, who he is convinced actually likes him, but he doesn’t share that fact with anyone not because he’s ashamed that he’s in love with a stripper, but because he’s ashamed that he’s in love with a black stripper.

he uses racial language when they're together but he calls it "role play".

i mean, it's like yall forgot about the fucking global caliphate thread on the old board.

no go zones in london and paris! the muslims have sharia law and the cops won't police there!

it was all bullshit then. it's all still bullshit, but it has cemented in the minds of the stupid.

Ahh, Clear Lake Horn. Single-handedly gave me negative impressions of Clear Lake without ever once visiting.

Who would possibly believe that?  Even if you read that chart wrong and thought it was a listing of unhealthiest, how did know one have some red alarm go off in their head?  Putting together a show is a multi person event.

San Diego and Austin are the most unhealthy places in America?   Sounds good. Ship it.

You're typical Trump fans would look at that list of cities and think "liberals and health food freaks/vegans/etc."

It's pretty nuts what he has become.  I thought he performed a pretty admirable public service back in the Loveline days.  It's sad to me when smart doctors become pieces of shit.

Celebrity got to him, he veered out of his lane and became an expert on everything.

I’m glad they are protesting in the middle of nowhere. Stay there

This is what Google streetview shows me for Glenrio:

IIRC, Lupton is literally inside a Navajo reservation, which seems to be a really great place to be protesting vaccine mandates, or whatever the fuck the current grievance is, given what Covid has done to reservations in the southwest.

I think somewhere between Adelanto and Glenrio is the town of "Macho Grande."  Site of many famous battles.  Those wounds run...pretty deep.

Also, wouldn't it have just been easier for a graphic to just label the "people's convoy route" for what it really is, U.S. Highway 66.

Wait, the government owns highways?  SOCIALISM! Let's ride!

Driving to get breakfast tacos I accidentally ingested 30 seconds of Fox on SiriusXM.

During that brief mistake I learned Hunter Biden and Hillary are in big trouble and Russia/Ukraine is no big deal… in fact a distraction from China

Fox can really pack a lot of “research” into a tight window

Tacos were great

I can still remember asking my dad, after he let me watch Airplane! & Part II as a young kid (probably 35 years ago, making me 9 or so at the time---probably too young to watch those movies but his rule of thumb was if it was funny then age didn't matter).  He served in the Navy (1961-1965), all over the globe from Vietnam/South Pacific to 6th fleet/North Africa.  Plus he was one of the best experts I've ever met on 20th Century military history and I've met a bunch.  So I asked him about "The Battle over Macho Grande" thinking it was this actual battle that I just hadn't heard him talk about yet.  And he actually said, "It's made up, it's a movie, it never happened."  And i think he could see that I was kinda dejected, here I was thinking it would be this new topic we could talk about.  So I said something like, "It wasn't real?  Why did they talk about it in the movie like it was real?"  And he said, of course..."Surely, you can't be serious?"

I still maintain that we should all get a little of our history lessons from the Zucker Brothers.

To bring this back to Fox News.  Dad died 17 years ago this week.  And he really, really liked Laurie "DSL" Dhue.  I think it was a Texas Monthly "Bum Steer" awards issue I got maybe 20 years ago (maybe less).  And it had a Fox News logo but instead of whatever their motto was back then it said "Fox News:  Fair.  Balanced.  Tits."  I cut it out and sent it to him and we shared a good laugh.  He liked that Fox at least would put on stories that nobody else was covering.  Same reason he read Reason magazine.  He didn't like the conclusions that Fox reached on stories (he was a big proponent of this funny thing called critical thinking which everybody thinks they do well, but no).  But he would watch it along with the Sunday morning shows because they brought to light stuff you didn't hear about from other outlets.  But by the time he died, Fox had already blazed ahead with their strategy to appeal to the lowest common denominators.

How is Russian / Ukraine no big deal? Like, are they Pro-Russia’s right to invade or we’re not involved.

I dunno. Changed station before the well thought out, grounded in fact,  logical explanation

Occasionally spy runs on hostile transmissions can be fun, like LARPing as an Australian coast watcher during WW2.

My local Right Wing Talk station is actually really good with Republicans digging up toxic dirt on each other and speaking some vicious truth about rivals, some good nitty-gritty local feuds that you won't find info on anywhere else. (I guess local Democrats could dig it up, if they'd quit being all noble and NPR-y for a sec.) But when they go to national politics they are just one degree short of generic Qtard. Then you get all the guys who are 30 but sound like they are 80 calling in and rambling. Kinda like Finebaum minus football talk.

And that's all I've got to say about tha-at.
