Giving legitimacy to the big lie of systemic voter fraud that might overturn the election that caused rubes that believed the big lie to the point of insurrection. They didn't believe there was any reason to believe the lie just that it would further their desire to gain favor with the Trumper base. They fomented false hope. And if reports are to be believed, especially in the case of Cruz, they fund raised on this even during the attack. That is enough to make Manchin say he would vote to expel.

If Cruz were expelled we would have a special election right?  Would Beto run?

A&M undergrad (animal sciences), Yale law, clerked for Chief Justice Roberts, worked at King & Spaulding and Kirkland & Ellis. Worked at DOJ for Mukasey.

Shes been named an aggy outstanding young alum. And if Trump called her ugly, Hawley would lick his taint.

How the hell does completing vet school get you into Yale law?  I guess those that say Yale is low-tier are right.

Because of the 3500 some-odd applicants to Yale Law School that year, I guarantee she was the only one with an animal sciences degree.  Law school and MBA admissions committees eat that shit up.

Unlike Ivy undergrads, it is difficult to impossible to buy your way into Harvard or Yale law schools.

Actual vet school would be an amazing qualification, as vet schools are harder to get into than Ivy law schools.

Um, yes it would but I believe that at A&M their animal science department is in the College of Agriculture. Their vet school is separate altogether and runs an undergraduate money maker program called BIMS which is what the pre-med students go into. They farm all the lower level classwork onto other departments/colleges though-like the College of Science, etc. So that would be an Agriculture degree applying to Yale Law most likely.

(Parent of a child we guided as she explored all this stuff when researching college apps).

So both the KC and STL newspapers published editorials stating that he should resign, and now he's fighting back by writing an op-ed for the Cape Girardeau newspaper... I need @jimmyjazz to interpret for me how low he's slumming there.

I cannot overstate how much rural Missouri voters hate KC and (in particular) StL "big city" types.  I will be shocked if many minds are changing.

Because you just KNOW that there are many, MANY Missouri voters who are deeply concerned about Pennsylvania's State Constitution.  They are no doubt debating that constitution long into the night in Branson coffee shops.

My parents (adopted thank god) are from Missouri. I can’t stress what a fucking shithole it is. And they’re from rural Missouri, to boot. Cape Girardeau, that area. It’s just poor shitty stupid people as far as the eye can see. When I was a teenager I visited, and it was the first time of many visits I really could recognize that it was just a run down state of hillbillies. I couldnt really put it into words, or express the sentiment, I just knew this was a place I didn’t want to be and people I didn’t want to be around. Just a bunch of angry hayseed assholes who were generally curt and mean and pissed at their lot in life.

Between that and East St. Loius the whole state is on my Hard Pass list.

Concur.

Missouri is the Bryan/College Station of states. Even Florida makes fun of it.

Yeah dude. And part of Kansas City is in Kansas and Missouri. Part of Texarkana is in Arkansas. Thanks for the lesson in pedantry.

Lesson #2: those are actually two separate cities (Kansas City, KS and Kansas City, MO).

You’re welcome.

I would agree.  It's basically KC and STL with Alabama in the middle and in those two cities, there are only really a few good areas.  (I think KC, while not a great place, can be a bit underrated.)

I remember over the summer when the AR toting lawyer and his wife waved their pieces around in their front yard, I was surprised to learn that their house was worth like $1.5M but 9K square feet or something.  That qualified as the top of the STL real estate market.  Meh.

It has been the backlash against education/critical thinking that led us to the sad state of affairs of our nation so I say 'learn more' as you never know when it might come in handy.

If I recall from the times I listened to Rush Limbaugh.  That's the shithole that produced him, so that seems like he's slumming pretty bad.

I70 between KC and STL is the worst drive by a mile. Like how many fucking porn shops and fireworks shops and billboards can you fit into a four hour drive?

KC people are weird in general. I left and never want to come back and live there or in Kansas for that matter. So many people I know left for school all the way to KU thirty miles away and then automatically just moved back to the KC suburbs.

That is odd. KCK is the worst part of Kansas City. Most people just like to be seen as from KC. Now if you have ever met anyone from Johnson County, KS, they like you to bow down to them and let you know their parents are rich.

yeah, it’s your basic tmc.

(tallest midget comparison)

I don't know what's worse...that you still call them midgets...or that you had to "shorten" that term, and then elongate it back out again afterwards.  You sick sonofabitch.

Also, yeah---can attest based on in-laws the Kansas City, KS/Kansas City, MO battle is real.  Holy shit with the: one side is worse, one side is better, the suburbs of one are better than the suburbs of the other, the exurbs of one are worse than the other.  It's all one stale, boring-as-fuck metroplex but they have carved themselves out more tribes than an Oklahoma casino.  The little plaza area in downtown KCMO is kinda cool, and nothing about the whole area is awful like Saint Louis, but it's like a fucking Flintstones cartoon, it's the same repetitive landscape and strip center for 25 miles in every direction.  But they're so damn territorial, as if one master-planned paper-mache housing development is different from the one literally right down the street/across the state border.  And the record---the whole area has mediocre BBQ.  I get the popularity of North Carolina BBQ, but I've tried to hit up every authentic and/or famous joint in Kansas City in all our travels there and it's fucking crap.  It's not bad, but it's so fucking overrated it's insane.

in the same vein of "but wait i have a black friend", i actually do have a midget friend*.  he's fantastic and hilarious and he hates any term besides midget.  he thinks it's patronizing and stupid.

of course i only use that term in two instances - when talking about him, or when using the tmc analogy.  both rarely come up, so i sleep ok at night.

*his instagram is largely him in a mini-trump outfit, full-on, including wig, doing lip syncs and impressions.  it's pretty great.
