And then Elon Musk decides to donate a few billion and the Saudis match it.

Might be.

And you know where all of THAT money will go?  Yep....same place.  You think Trump will be satisfied with whatever he's already sucked out of the party....or will he want more more more more?

As a dictator who’s never faced justice for any of his crimes? More more more, of course.

He’s not bleeding his money.  He’s definitely bleeding the R’s money.  And that’s even better.  Great job Donny, give yourself an extra scoop today.

He ain't bleeding HIS money.  He's bleeding those two things of THEIR money....which means it's money those entities can't use to advance any political purpose.  And that's good for we the people.  Let Trump suck all the life and blood out of that party, so it's an empty husk unable to do anything but funnel all of its money and reduced power directly to him.

A dollar spent to serve Trump's greed, vanity, and stupidity, is a dollar not spent supporting downballot Republican candidates.  That's a very good thing.

Exactly.

What I'm wondering if whether or not this becomes an inflection point for Trump. Trump only cares about his money and once his lawyers aren't being paid by the PACs then it's going to need to come from somewhere else.

Keep in mind that the GOP is rumored to only have about $8 million in cash on hand. That's less than two months' worth of legal bills based on what he paid last year and that was without billing for criminal defense trials. It's going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

If no benefactor shows up then it's time for him to pay out of his own pocket - will that cause him to finally seek a deal?

I'm starting to think that the 77 year-old twice impeached dude facing 91 felony counts and $550 million in various fines probably shouldn't be running for President of the United States.

But hey, lets see if Jon Stewart devotes another episode tonight to Biden being a whole three years older.

sorry for not keeping up, but does the Erdogan ruling on Trump‘s businesses -especially the imposition of some oversight by a monitor - give that monitor the right to participate in determining which businesses they will sell off to pay E. Jean if need be?

IOW, not as much power as a bankruptcy trustee, but some control over payments of judgments against Trump business entities?  I’m not clear on how that works.

Probably not explicitly by Engoron's order.  But inasmuch as she is already a receiver of sorts, it might facilitate something like a Texas turnover order, or what I think is called elsewhere a "charging order."

Would it surprise anyone if Erdogan was involved?

Trump asked Elon to turn off Ukraine’s access to Starlink to help Russia.

If Trump’s Twitter account comes back to life, I wonder who will have reached out for the arrangement.

And how much Tesla stock is involved.

People are upset that GoFundMe is allowing a Trump fundraiser for his judgements

Lol I know that Jalen guy. Gay, black, and MAGA. He’s really odd and yet would be a fantastic case for a narrative analysis if anyone needed a dissertation topic.

article - Trump owns 30% of 1290 6th Ave, which Steven Ross, actual real estate developer who knows he's doing, must've thrown him a bone. According to the NYP's real estate reporter, it's his best and possibly only asset that would allow raising the money necessary to appeal/pay the judgment. I recommend the article for the explanation about why every other Trump asset is garbage. However the maga brain worm comments in the posts at the end of the nyp article are -- not gonna lie -- entertaining af.

what this mean?

Well, at a minimum he's going to have defend several civil lawsuits regarding Jan 6th; including wrongful death, injury, etc.  Remember the threshold for civil guilt isn't the same as criminal, it's lower.  Basically, he just lost more money, if he has any anyway.

WASHINGTON — Lawsuits seeking to hold Donald Trump personally accountable for his role in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol can move forward after the former president chose not to take his broad immunity claim to the Supreme Court.

Trump had a Thursday deadline to file a petition at the Supreme Court contesting an appeals court decision from December that rejected his immunity arguments, but he did not do so.

The appeals court made it clear that Trump could still claim immunity later in the proceedings in three cases brought by Capitol Police officers and members of Congress.

In other words, he'll use this to stall later on down the road.

I mean, this orange fuck appears to have the worst attorneys a rich miserable cunt like him could hire, and he still won't face any real consequences.  What a country.

He raises more money the more legal trouble he incurs.

As President, he refused to protect our Capitol as it was under attack. I'm sure the families of the cops who later committed suicide after engaging in hand to hand combat with these lunatics might have something to say about that.

He doesn’t want SC to weigh in on immunity and he wants to preserve the claim to stall the cases later.  His lawyers didn’t just forget.

Yeah in the civil cases like the criminal, the holding was based on a motion to dismiss, where the facts are as stated in the complaint and not developed any further. Trump can attempt a motion for summary judgment later and possibly appeal that denial or appeal any final judgment on grounds of immunity with the facts further developed. But they are not going to develop his way, so the appeals will be low percentage.
