2024 Transfer Thread - Brooks Was Here. So Was Red.

The issue at safety is I'm not seeing anybody in the portal currently that's as good as somebody like Humphrey.

Just take a corner like Humphrey, upgrade that position, and then maybe you can spin somebody down like Black to safety in order to improve that position group.

Checking out his old 247 and on3 profiles we aren’t even showing up on the offer list. Not that it means much but it’s odd from a highly rated in state guy

Yeah. Blue has played better than Baxter so far. Baxter is young but always seems dinged up. He (They) just need to work on ball security.

FIFY.

Baxter played well last night too. Hoping another off-season of S&C and maturation toughens him up, but it's fair to wonder if he will be injury prone at this point. They are a potent pair to field. Pretty stoked about what's behind them too, so if Baxter gets dinged, I feel we're in good shape regardless.

Yeah I think you basically take best available DB at this point. If that’s a corner then cool. Move Austin Jordan to safety where he belongs

Kirby Smart, Will Muschamp, and Glenn Schumann disagreed with the Georgia boards.

Sure. But it’s not unusual for a coach to stick with a more experienced and less talented veteran over a more talented rookie who is prone to ‘rookie mistakes’.

Not really.

It looks like Humphrey was likely going to be CB2 had he not been injured. Humphrey didn't start to begin the year and it looks like the Georgia staff realized he should have been starting until he was injured.

It's not even true to begin with.

This is super complicated from an academics perspective. He left A&M essentially for conduct/academics and so I am guessing he probably didn’t accrue the expected academic progress at A&M. Then he takes theoretically a full course load at LSU. He then is going to transfer those credits back to A&M and clear A&Ms internal academic probation hurdles. All while coming back as a transfer under the eyes of the NCAA…

Not sure how he ends up eligible academically to play at all or based upon his previous behavior how he makes it through the off season and if he has to sit as a transfer to finally be eligible.

I hope the kid the best academically, but whoever is advising him really needs to hammer home how close he is to essentially only being able to play college ball after going and graduating a JUCO to reset his academic GPA and hours counter..

That's essentially what Chris Marshall did, no?

Not 100% sure because different schools and states etc, but yeah. The best way to fix your standing is to get a 2 year degree and then use that to help smooth over your past issues with the new school’s registers office.

That was my first impression-that this kid would actually satisfy the academic progress requirements is either a testament to his perseverance or an indictment on the academic rigor of A&M and LSU.

Can you shut the fuck up with the Julian Humphrey handwringing? Christ. The staff didn’t give a fuck that he was leaving.  We shouldn’t give a fuck that he’s left, either.

If he's doing anything more than asking directions to Blinn, then Elko is staring at a very dark reality that's more like a nightmare. He was told that A&M could pony up to bolster the roster; this suggests (again) that they can't.

Bjork, in announcing that they are not an 8-4 program, stated that they would assemble a great staff. They aren't. I'll add to the chorus saying they don't have the money to make  a high level assistant coach come work for a schlub who is little more than a highly regarded assistant coach himself. So much risk of landing at a career killer.

The Harris news screams desperation. Elko knows they are fucked at corner.

Elko wishes they were only fucked at corner.  Expectations for new coach:

  • Hold the 2022 class together.
  • Keep amazing, stunning, and feared talent on the team in general.
  • Hold a good portion of the 2024 class together.
  • Hire a fabbo staff.
  • Provide the improved level of head coaching that will hold intact the A&M alumni and TexAgs' certainty that for 2024 they are well placed to win the SEC and the whole shooting match.

The powers that be made their decision based on those expectations.

Here are these upper class twits examining the Sherman tank one of them owns:

no kidding.

look at the defense and how wildly bottom heavy/young their defense is going to be next year

image.thumb.png.adca598b614fb05248f3fd57cfe94759.png

that's a straight up bad LB room. 4 CB on the roster. the only 2 that were recruits have been there 1 year and both burned their RS.

the EDGE position had them getting excited about Rylan Kennedy lol

they somehow had 2 DB coaches all year long and have no CBs recruited.

they have basically no experienced/good depth at any of the 3 levels, any single injury puts them in a very tough position.

that defense is going to have a tough year next year.

explain please?

We didn't offer him coming out of HS. He was considering them coming out of HS, same DB coach still there.

A&M guys is reporting that he's gonna visit here to try and manufacture some momentum when he transfers there "over Texas".

Uhhh... Have any of the UT 9.95ers reported a UT OV? I could sworn on last night's livestream that Bobby said no on UT having interest.

Listen, I’m not going to go nuts on you like many posters do, justifiably, because of your affiliation with Obloods. That considered, I think part of what drives people nuts with your posting behavior is the way you play stupid and hem and haw with what you relay or ask about the $9.95ers. You “could [have] sworn” is bullshit. Did Bobby say Texas was probably not pursuing Humphrey or did he not say that? Own the position or don’t post it.
