Yes, absolutely. Not sure why Vince after all his troubles with alcohol in the past is still going out to these places that are just a haven for him to get sucked back into that life.

maybe they served up a good cheesecake

It looked like the "owner" tried to kick Vince and his buddy(ies?) out for whatever reason, Vince's buddy smashes the drink in his face and then lands an elbow, a mosh pit ensues, and Vince eventually gets clocked

I'm most curious to know why they were seemingly getting kicked out. I've never been to that bar, but I've been to most of the ones around it

There are no rules, though. That is the exact point. You can be jumped 5 on 1 if they want. People looking to catch you off guard and cold clock you. VY was right in the middle of it the whole time. VY was right in the middle of it the whole time, even grabbed someone by the throat. You saying he was playing peacemaker the whole time? He was having to be held back in the beginning. He was still being physical at the end of it. He wasn't paying attention to the smaller dude looking to deck someone. And paid the price.

And nah, I stay away from bars because of this ignorant behavior displayed by VY and the others in the video. Being in your 40s and getting into fights at bars has to be embarrassing. Especially for the whole world to see.

You get into a fight outside of a controlled sport, all bets are off. People can cry "Cheap shot" all they want, but doesn't really mean anything. Guarantee that doesn't happen if he was on his toes, That guy isn't going to attempt that if VY was paying attention to him.

Not sure how saying that is being a "tough guy". It's reality. I have been into a few scuffles in a bar/strip club over a decade ago. Got punched without me even paying attention by a much bigger dude at a Ft Worth strip club and he didn't stop until they pulled him off. So yeah, I am well aware of this ignorant behavior unfortunately at these havens for drunk people wanting to get physical for any reason. I'd need to re-evaluate my life, though if this will still happening to me in my 40s.

What the hell kind of pussy ass crew is VY running with?
VY, if those are ya boyz get some new ones. Some that know what’s up. If you want the gravy train to keep a flowin, no one gets within 5 feet of the GOAT

vince young gets sucker punched and knocked unconscious in a way that literally could have killed him, and a bunch of our posters’ reaction to that is to run in here and go, “all in the game bro! rules of the street! gotta keep your head on a swivel out here in these streets!” what are you, 12? buncha 38 year old “men” in jean shorts and karl kani polos posting on the internet about that thug life out here in these streets. wildly pathetic. embarrassing.

i didn’t read anything vic said after his first few sentences of his first internet tough guy post, because you couldn’t pay me to read the ramblings of an internet tough guy whose mind frame is stuck in middle school.

adults who get into fist fights at bars are losers. adults who sucker punch people are even bigger losers. adults who go on the internet to talk about how it ain’t no rules in the street like they’re some gangster tough guy and not some dorky ass internet poster the biggest losers imaginable.

vince young could easily be in a coma right now. if your reaction that fact/this video is to run to the internet to explain to everyone how it ain’t no rules in the street, you should be so embarrassed by who you are as a person that you just disappear from here like that one guy who exposed himself watching pegging porn. that guy >>>>> you.

Hawaiian dude named BJ Penn, UFC hall of famer and one of its earliest stars, considered pound for pound combat greats at his peak…won 170 division belt meaning he walked around 190-200#

Even in “just” his late 30s he became alcoholic and got in a bunch of fights. Many separate videos/incidences of him getting flatlined by bouncers and other bar patrons.

Going from one of the baddest man on the planet to getting knocked out by randos at dive bars. What a fall.

After all that, he tried to run for governor of hawaii lmao

He should stay home and get drunk in his garage like a normal dude.
If he wants to socialize then send the kids to Grandma's house and invite some people to the casa to hang out and drink. I get that someone like Vince gets a dopamine hit by walking around in public and being recognized. He can still do that, just keep the drinking part confined to his own property. When the evening is done, kick everyone out and stumble to the bedroom. Win for all.

Fighting UFC and bar fights are apples and kumquats.  A UFC match with random assaults from blind spots would be captivating.

Also, god damn this thread got Derka’d. WTF.

no one in this thread played the bad ass angle.  Maybe MN in jest.  Everyone has said its fucking stupid to get in altercations at a bar.

Uh, the fight happened on Feb. 4, and VY was a key speaker in Austin two weeks later for a Black History Month event at the University of Texas. So he's probably not in a coma, at least not from this incident.

He wasnt jumped or blindsided either.

Just CTE and enough alcohol to negate all good sense, reaction, and muscle memory from a lifetime of fighting.

Apparently you're not allowed to go to a bar if you're in your 40's according to Surly.

I miss Shaggy.
A shot bar? That's only if you're celebrating something..birthday, big business deal etc, but even then there are better places than a shithole that attracts frat boys that just got their first legit ID showing 21...and a few with ID's less than legit.

Same. I did all that in my mid 20s until early 30s. Bars, breastaurants, clubs, strip clubs. Don't miss it all. Don't regret enjoying it when I went, though. The only time I get a drink when out is if we are at a restaurant. I don't go out just to go to a bar anymore. I can enjoy it more at home.

So you've settled in to casting your net at Jenny Craig Weight Loss Centers?

Nothing wrong with being at a bar at his age. Likely hanging out watching an NFL playoff game.

The fact that he got hit at all, much less sucker punched, and his entire crew did nothing about it is the biggest issue here.

Crazy times we live in.

Hanging out at shot bars at his age? Hanging out at bars in general with all the alcohol issues he's had in the past? Probably not the best idea. The fact we are discussing why didn't his people assault another group because he was cold clocked in a bar fight in his 40s is pretty embarrassing at this point. Texas has bent over backwards giving him multiple chances to land on his feet with his past decisions with alcohol and here we are again. He was the aggressor in the beginning of the video. He wasn't some innocent bystander in all this. And he was still being physical at the end. He was fair game, no rules in nonsense bar fights. People will pick up stools, sticks and hit you with it if they need to. Or even worse, pull out a knife or a gun and just kill you on the spot.

I'm obviously biased, but that dude is a fucking pussy who lined up the cheap shot for a good couple of seconds to make sure it was safe to throw it.  He should face charges for that.  VY was holding people back.

And he takes off his shirt after he's clear across the bar lol. Fake tough guy indeed..

But that's the shit that happens in bar and street fights. No rules at all. People are looking to jump you and throw cheap shot knockout blows. If you are in the mix up like VY was, he's unfortunately fair game to those people. Bar and club fights are the worst because most are boozed up and looking for any excuse to throw blows when arguments happen.

Like the one time out on 6th this little pussy blindsided me and then ran and hid behind the bouncer of the club we were next in line to get into. I lost my shit but I couldn't get to him. Cop standing right there must've seen the guy hit me and run, because otherwise he'd have probably pepper-sprayed me immediately. He was just looking the other way like "I'll allow it".

Never got to the guy. Still pisses me off 20 years later. People like that need some jail time with people you wouldn't dare hit when they aren't looking.

As a 5'9" guy who was very unenthusiastic about fighting in my bar crawling hey day, can confirm that avoiding aggro little dudes is a very wise course of action.

Yeah, to hell with those little dudes. Even in a controlled environment they can set your ass on fire. Back in my college days during Greek week I entered the boxing tournament. I had been studying martial arts for a few years and it SEEMED like a good idea at the time. I was just shy of 6' tall and weighed about 190-195, no giant, but no shrimp either. My first 2 fights were tough but not nearly as tough as I expected.   The 3rd fight? I laughed my ass off when I saw my next opponent.  Maybe 5'8", and while I didn't know what he weighed, he looked scrawny as hell, very intimidating with his horn rimmed glasses, homemade haircut and his shorts that were about 3 sizes too big. It took about 30 seconds for me to wish I was anywhere but there. That little nerd about beat me to death. I'm not even sure I ever laid a glove on him and I hurt like hell for the better part of a week.

Always go for the bum rush. That's what I did last fall at the Surly tailgate.

While @immamac was stacking the condiments on the folding table, I launched a withering assault from behind and landed a wicked blow to the back of his head with all the aged might I could muster. Both of us tumbled forward straight into the table, which collapsed, with ketchup and mustard bottles, beer openers, paper plates and containers of cole slaw flying every which way. A woman screamed and a huge roar of anger erupted from the crowd. I remember a wild scramble as men grabbed at me, dragging me off Immamac by my legs. His face was bleeding and his glasses were shattered. The enraged onlookers pummeled me with punches and kicks, and I freely admit that I screamed in terror like a girl.

As the furious men pounded me with heavy blows, I cried, whimpered and screamed for mercy, stuttering that my medication was to blame. They must have broken my nose, and I was engulfed in pain from the many vicious blows and kicks. Finally, seeing me wrapped up in a ball and crying hysterically, they relaxed their grip. I could see Immamac laying close to me with @6th Street's fiancee administering first aid to him.

With what little strength I could muster, I delivered the hardest kick I could, straight to Immamac's face, and I could feel the bones and tissue of his nose collapse, as blood flew everywhere. A mighty cry of fury erupted and three or four dudes proceeded to beat the living crap out of me

That's the last thing I remember.

The only surprise here is how weak of a chin Vince has….  He was definitely pushing a whole group of guys before the hit.  Also like others said, if you’re over 30 you probably should never be in a bar called shot something especially if you’re Vince Young..

So the little fucker in the wifebeater seems to be the one starting the shit, and then takes the bitchass blindside shot at VY. Is he the one that took the elbow (ie is he the club owner) from the big fucker in the white shirt who was apparently helping VY? What a fucking pussy. He's wagging his finger & pointing at VY for a bit and then appears to push or poke the bear, which is when VY had had enough.

It was pretty funny watching VY hold off all four of those pussies until Bruh did his thing. I'm sure that's not a first for him.

Sadly, you just get the feeling that it's not going to end well for Vince. He's made a lot of really dumb decisions.  At some point, it's on him. I hope he's able to get the help that he needs but it feels to me like he won't. Too many enablers, too many people who don't have his best interests at heart, and he lacks the inner wisdom/guidance to understand that.
