There has been a lot churn targeting anyone who said Trump lost in 2020.  I expect a rewrite of history is going to play heavily in fuckery related to the 2028 election, that Trump is owed a term.

Full on Orwellian. What Trump did leading up to the election, on election night, and through January 6 was the worst shit a US president has ever done.

Who was the republican who said in December 2020 "What's the harm in humoring him?"?

Re. My daughter’s experiences. I have learned the SS number mention referenced a file specific to an individual researcher, which is known as an ORCID file. This file contains all of an individual’s published research, all who conduct research have such a file, and the SS number differentiates between two researchers who share the same name. And, yes, the fact that my daughter was employed in a program Republicans have labeled DEI has been added to my daughter’s research file.

UT legal came to the conclusion that employing my daughter in another job leaves them vulnerable to the charge that “DEI hires” were just shuffled around.

M daughter makes clear that she was told this notation in her file will sabotage any interview at a research university. Too bad. So sad.

Here is the offending language of the Post-Baccalaureate Research Education Program  (PREP) program she was enrolled in:

”The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at UT Health San Antonio provides an individualized, diverse and multidisciplinary learning environment for students to develop the knowledge, skills and creativity necessary to succeed in the evolving biomedical disciplines.”

Here is a link to UT Health’s PREP program:

https://uthscsa.edu/biomedical-sciences/programs/prep

If this is indeed the "offending language," then whoever is making this call to flag SS #'s is an outright dumbass who needs to take a remedial English course. "Individualized and diverse" modify the "learning environment." Nothing to do with PEOPLE hired for diversity. Diverse in this statement simply means the nature of the learning environment is varied... similar to "multidisciplinary."  J F C

We’ve moved beyond law firms and are now just targeting individuals who say things Trump doesn’t like.  Today he signed an executive order targeting a former government employee for “falsely denying that the 2020 election was stolen and rigged.”

https://www.whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2025/04/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-addresses-risks-from-chris-krebs-and-government-censorship/

Krebs was a Trump appointee. His mandate was to work with the various federal election entities to reduce vulnerability and identify if there had been anything done to influence the outcome of elections. He reduced the vulnerabilities, and found no evidence that elections were influenced. Krebs did identify significant activity from Russian troll farms in Saint Petersburg Russia that was being copy/pasted into conservative influencer social media and directly into Trump talking points. Conservative members of Congress directed Krebs agency to never contact social media companies again.  “It is a violation of the first amendment to restrict the flow of misinformation coming from a foreign enemy state.“ Russia put Krebs on its enemy of Russia list.  Then Trump lost the election. Trump claimed the election was hacked. Krebs disagreed and pointed to data. Trump fired Krebs by tweet.

I checked around, and one of the articles compared it to a Mao pin, but what hasn't been verified as accurate is whether HE is articulating it or the sycophants are doing this of their own accord. Either is just stunningly awful though.

So it's just immigrants they are screening for "anti-semitism"?  Hmmm.  I feel like there's a back story here, but I just . . . can't . . . quite . . . put my finger on it.  Oh well.

I don't care if they do have a transactional group, those fucking Wall Street fucks like Skadden should all turn in their law licenses.

For a bit of perspective, those firms' "transactional groups" don't just draft contracts.  They "paper" monstrous corporate deals like IPOs and acquisitions (e.g your Barbarians At The Gate scenarios).  Their compensation model is a percentage of the deal, just like ibankers and others at the trough.

There is an immense amount of work that goes into those deals, tons of man hours, but the compensation is equally immense, often leading to effective hourly rates of multiple thousands per lawyer, eclipsing the astronomical hourly rates of prominent litigation lawyers, e.g. 1000+++.  And this for every lawyer on the team, from first year to Marty Lipton or Joe Flom.

So, these cowards are financial cowards, trying to stay in the good graces of the Administration, which I don't think would actually impact their business.

Trump signs executive order targeting law firm Susman Godfrey

don't know who they are? oh, you know, they just represented Dominion, who won their defamation case against FoxNews for $787.5 mil. The EO accused the firm of undermining American interests and elections. WTF.

Seriously, this is some chilling bullshit.

oh and this gem..

"Trump also alleged Susman engaged in discriminatory employment practices, including through a program offering opportunities for non-white students."

The Court will not do that. And if it did, Trump will not do that. And the dude is probably already dead.

Here is what Roberts will say: He should not have been deported and that was wrong, but separation of powers prevents the courts from forcing the executive to engage in foreign policy. The proper remedy is to file a habeas petition prior to deportation. You may also be able to file a civil rights action for violation of rights assuming you even manage to get back to the country. Too bad, so sad. He has fucking telegraphed this shit and fucking Barrett joining the dissent should tell you that she knows what is about to happen too.

Celebrating an unsigned decision that doesn't really require anything and adds the language the government wanted regarding due deference to the executive branch's responsibility for foreign diplomacy seems a bit premature. It was a weak a decision that largely punted on the things that mattered. I hope he gets home. I hope the government actually tries to get him home. I'm not holding my breath on that. The correct action would have been to not take the issue up at all and leave the original order in place.

No it wouldn't have. The way it played out is how it needed to play out.

The supreme court settled this and now it goes into the action stage. This is where trump defies the supreme court on a 9-0 or if we find out there's actually a guardrail left.

It was 9-0. The reason it is unsigned is so that no particular justice gets assassinated over it.  What it does, in practice, is this - it doesn't decide whether the federal court exceeded it's authority, which is the big, huge Constitutional bugaboo.   Instead, it gave the district court a shot at language that wouldn't offend the executive's foreign affairs authority, it also gives the government a chance to comply and bring the guy back without having to answer the big question. They even signaled what word to use, "direct." It's basically saying, "Okay, pres., your move.  But if you force the issue you are not going to like the answer."

There was no reason to disturb the judge's original order. It just delayed getting him home/ the fight that is going to happen anyway.

The lukewarm language was almost certainly to allow them to get it to 9-0. It doesn't actually require the government get him back. It just requires the government to maybe try, sort of. If the government does anything but get him back, you'll eventually have an order from the judge that requires them to take some concrete step that the government will deny based upon separation of powers. That's when the real fireworks will start. Again, celebrating this is way premature. Celebrate when the government actually gets him home.

The language was the result of negotiations between the justices, sure.  I won't say who orchestrated it.  I agree about the fireworks.

Can we all just feel a little bit good about the fact that the Supreme Court didn't suck Trump's dick?

Its different being the world police than it is being the instigator on some bullshit. If things go hot somewhere I think it pushes public opinion further down and he potentially loses control of the military command if the orders are unlawful in that they cause massive civilian casualties etc.

If we did some Russia in Ukraine shit, we would have massive general strikes and a complete social revolution. There is no way people would just be cool with it.
