No brainstorming on prevention, then? Just the same cycle of death and empty outrage?

Preventing some nutjob from taking shots at firefighters responding to a brushfire?  Let's here your thoughts!

There should be more guns in American circulation tbh. The American people can handle them. Thoughts and prayers for more guns.

That was quick!

No doubt.  Instead of a 401k at birth, everyone should be issued an AR-15 as soon as they are able to pull the trigger.

Dear Lord, could the first two responses to this news been more polar opposite yet equally wacky?

I represented a guy that served on a rural fire department. He loved to hit the lights and sirens and speed to the fire, so he’d go out in the country, set fires, and then go back to town and conveniently be near the fire barn when the 911 calls came in. Finally got busted.

Your contention is this issue is an isolated problem?

My cousin who is a part time firefighter out of LaGrande, Oregon (where I’m currently visiting for his daughter’s wedding), fights fires in these areas when he is needed.  He sent me the link just a bit ago to the press conference.  A lot of comments are saying, “Is this the guy that killed his three daughters?”

I wonder if something like that happened and then set some land on fire to have them come out.

Doesn't even move the needle.

Dying in a hail of bullets is the price you, and your children, must be willing to pay to live in a country free of terror and oppression.

As we've been repeatedly told.

apparently firefighters lighting fires is way more common than you'd think.

It’ll be interesting to find the motive. Probably disgruntled employee. Further north in Bonners Ferry they used to have neonazis. Supposedly, from the locals not many of those are around anymore. And the motive for neonazis wouldn’t make much sense.

Aren't you full of questions on this issue.  I never contended anything.  You brought up prevention.  We are all ears (or eyes, as the case may be).

This isn't news. What's it doing on the DT board?

I hate Idaho Nazis.

Quote

HAYDEN, Idaho -- Firefighters burned some of the remaining buildings on the former Aryan Nations compound during training exercises this week.

The 20-acre property is owned by the Carr Foundation, which offered the abandoned buildings to Northern Lakes Fire District officials for training, fire inspector Dean Marcus said.

The foundation bought the compound in April from Victoria and Jason Keenan, who won a $6.2 million judgment against the Aryan Nations and its founder, Richard Butler.

Firefighters said they had no political agenda in burning four of the seven buildings during sessions that started Tuesday evening.

"It just gives the folks the opportunity to train how we work," Chief Jeff Welch said.

A bomb squad dog searched the buildings Thursday to make sure they were safe.

Firefighters plan to torch Butler's former home and the neo-Nazi sect's former church July 15.

You can prevent them by killing them first.

Oh when do we get to the part without the terror and oppression?
