Yep, as I said I knew this was coming. Too late for me, I won't be resubscribing or knowingly giving them any money at all moving forward. But they'll get the vast majority of people back.

Huh.  Maybe outrage DOES have an effect.

Regarding PBS:  I may be old, but I will go to my imminent grave saying Austin City Limits, Antiques Roadshow, America's Test Kitchen, Cook's Country, Pati's Mexican Table (mmm Pati) and Samantha Brown all kick ass.

Your omission of the absolutely adorable Lucy Worsley from Lucy Worsley Investigates is duly noted and is going in your permanent record.

And the entire Ken Burns catalog.

So will maga start cancelling Hulu/Disney+? They probably shouldn't have done anything at all and just let it blow over. They're now a target of both ends of the spectrum.

In the interest of "national dialogue," and giving airtime to the viewpoints of Charlie Kirk supporters, Jimmy should have prominent Trump and Kirk supporter Forgiato Blow on to perform "Good and Evil," so he can tell us about how lynching is good:

Quote

The song calls for “a big tall tree and a short piece of rope” to “hang ‘em up high at sundown” and “leave ‘em swinging so the folks all know you don’t mess around in our town.”

.....

A verse from Forgiato Blow, whose real name is Kurt Jantz, lists three white murder victims whose killer or accused killers are Black and Latino. He named the killings of Austin Metcalf, Laken Riley, and Iryna Zarutska, who was fatally stabbed on a bus in North Carolina. Jantz says she was killed by a “n******.”

Later, Lawhorn sings “we ought to do it like they did it way back in the day because grandaddy’s way works best.”

You know, just welcoming different viewpoints, and bringing people together.  Right?

He's not racist. He's just an anti-crime musical performer. What he really means is he's against crime and wants potential perpetrators to have due process and Constitutional protections to which everyone is entitled. - MAGA language interpreters, probably

Local media says 90,000. 70,000 at venue, with two overflow places at 10,000 each.

The absolute worse course of action is to make a decision and then meekly reverse it a week later. This doesn't make everyone happy, it makes everyone mad.

Canceled my disney, hulu, espn bundle today.  It sucks because I liked the content and I have a young daughter who's into princess shit.  In the grand scheme of things I know my $25 bucks a month doesn't mean shit.  However. I felt I had to say something, not just to ABC, but the next corporation that might bend the knee.

I think an argument can be made that your $25, as well as the $25 from enough aware and motivated people, has made a difference.

Used to have this t-shirt back in the 90s. It might be time to get a new one.

Sinclair still preempting Kimmel. I’m guessing Nexstar will do the same 🙄

Somebody has to be the TV station that freaked out about Star Trek's interracial kiss.

So glad I grew up in 1960s Bama. I already saw the Cliffs Notes on all of this.

Oh they want “an environment of constructive respectful dialogue”.

So I guess they won’t ever show our current president again? The guy who immediately started screaming about going to war with the left, while Kimmel was talking about how terrible the murder was and offering condolences to Kirk’s wife and family.

Damn, Austin, FOX is FOX and then you've got regime owned stations of all the rest of the local stations!  That's really fucking awful!

Given that the other side is pretty much 100% outrage, of course it does.

This may be the first justifiable outrage cancellation, though.

The Austin, DFW, and Houston Fox stations are all owned by Fox directly. The San Antonio one is owned by Sinclair (I missed that one).
