Trivial things that make you surly

Lil Tay is a real live action Bart Simpson for a new generation. Just roll with it.

In regards to your concern for your niece's admiration for Tay., I guess it depends on how old your niece is. If she's say, 20, 21, you may have some legit concerns and you would also owe us pictures.

The difference between gf and wife is simple: with a wife, you know the kind of hummus she likes. It's the other one, not the one you bought.

The technical stuff, you let the wife get it. Or she can give you a picture of it. But it will still be wrong when you get back with it.

Holidays. I dislike them. They are made up reasons to spend money and do extra shit. I don't give a shit about my birthday or your birthday.

Mother's Day is a fucking scam. 75% of women are mothers, grandmothers, aunts, etc. And they get most of the damn days, anyway.

I'd rather observe Ramadan.... which I might try. At least it's personal reflection and not some Hallmark BS.

Come to think of it, I haven’t seen a Ramadan card in CVS.  I might just sue.

Ramadan is actually pretty cool. I celebrate it on the down-low, because I'm not Muslim, and I don't really care to get into giant philosophical conversations with people simply because I'm fasting for a month. I'm closer to Taoist, actually, but the Sufi writers all pretty much were Taoist, too. I skip out on the ritual prayers of my Muslim friends, of course, and do yoga during prayer times. Because I'm a theological mutt.

Meanwhile, Mother's Day was originally an anti-war day of protest, not a Hallmark scam. What it has become is merely symptomatic of what everything in modern culture has become.

corporate sponsorship of entertainment/sports venues makes me ragey.

so and so is playing at "Sleep Train Amphitheater"   Where the fuck is that?  I don't know, but it's different from "Verizon Wireless Amphitheater".

Viejas Casino Center?  That must be at Viejas Casino, right?  No. It's 20 miles away from Viejas Casino.

Cox Arena?  Beats me.

"first ever" cars.

also, cars advertised as "all new" when it's the exact same car it was last model year.

I just changed offices at work. We're 2 to an office and have a minifridge. The guy I share the fridge with insists on keeping it set on max because he likes to keep a cup of ice in there. Not in the little freezer section, in the fridge section because his cup is too big to fit in the freezer. Zero fucks given about freezing everyone else's shit. I open a Coke and if it's not already frozen, it freezes when the pressure is relieved and runs all over my desk. I turn it down, he turns it back. I ask him nicely not to max it, he smiles and says OK, then turns it to max the second I leave. Seriously considering cutting the power cord off the goddamned thing.

Sounds like you need to chop off his horses head and put it in his freezer.

I've got a 6 yo and 9 yo so we watch America's Funniest Videos on Sunday nights while making dinner. A trivial thing that annoys the hell out of me is that the $10,000 winner is always the shittiest video, usually with bratty kids doing stupid shit. I know it's irrational to let that shit piss me off, but there's lots of really funny videos that never win.

Using the phrase “piece of shit” to describe someone; especially a person with whom you dislike or disagree.  This is rampant in the CR.

Nothing screams internet tough guy / anonymous coward more than using POS. It is really repugnant.

Do you have a preferred go-to? Is it because it's infeasible that a literal piece of shit could post on an internet message board? Would you prefer "one who is incapable of sufficiently cleaning their anus after defecating"? The intent is the same.

I've been watching that show for something like 25 years and that has always annoyed me.

I would put a lock on the fridge or pee in his cup.

There's a reoccurring theme on this thread that makes me think some of you aren't using HEB curbside pickup.

Fuck that....I am picking my own groceries.

And I have noticed that the HEB employees that are pulling your lazy ass' groceries are way too aggressive and getting in my way.

They're some of the shittiest shoppers in the store. Carts in the middle of the aisle, oblivious to others, human trainwrecks.

I have a neighbor that parks one car in the garage, the other two on the street.  Driveway of empty most of the time.  They are narrow for two car driveways but still.

You know who complains about carts in the aisle and other shit that annoys them in the store? Poors who can't spare 5 bucks to use curbside. Enjoy your hour long mexican children obstacle course.

Growing up my parents would have bacon wrapped filet's for special occasions and they would serve us kids bacon wrapped hamburgers.  When we finally got old enough to ask "Why mine not look like yours?"   they held out for another couple of years before we got the upgrade.

It’s called a mock filet.

I would guess at least part of it is because not everyone drives on the same side of the road. Which then raises the question...why don't we all drive on the same side of the road?

Also, I'm assuming there are some design/engineering reasons behind some of the gas filler placements.

If your country was occupied by Rome, or you are a colony of one of those countries, you drive on the left as Roman soldiers kept their swords on the left hip and carried their shields on the left due to right hand dominance thus when marching past each other their swords and shields did not hit each other.  If your country developed in the horse/oxen and wagon era, or you are a colony of one of those countries, then you are on the right as drovers walked in the middle of the road to steer their team past oncoming wagon teams and again due to right hand dominance most were to the left of their team thus putting the team on the right side of the road.

Quote
When wagons came into general use, they were hauled by two, four or six horses and the driver rode the left rear (wheel) horse like the Old World position. Handling the reins or jerk line with the left hand [and] the long black-snake whip with the right, these drivers traveled to the right so as to watch more closely the clearance at the left. The heavy Conestoga wagons introduced about 1750, in the vicinity of Lancaster, Pa., gave an added impetus to right-hand travel. The drivers rode the left wheel horse, postilion fashion, or rode the "lazy board" at the left side of the wagon, or walked along the road at the left side of the horses.

The fact that most people are right-handed is the biggest factor contributing to which side of the road people initially chose. Ancient Romans drove chariots with the reins in their dominant right hands to allow them to whip a horse with their left. That way there was little risk of accidentally whipping a passing chariot. But if a warrior needed to do battle from a horse, he could attack a passing opponent on the right with his stronger hand.

Slang is fun, or a vital part of linguistics, or whatever.

I fucking hate so much all of the stupid fucking acronyms that people feel compelled to make in business/"leadership"/whatever.  Just write the fucking word, it's not a tweet.

We have an entire wall in multiple meeting rooms here that are dedicated to acronyms we use in our current project.  I'm talking one acronym explained on an 8.5x11 piece of paper, 10 tall, 15 wide or so.  It's fucking asinine.
