Well, I certainly hope they stay the fuck off the streets unless something happen.  The last thing I want is for him to station a bunch of troops in areas he thinks are likely to riot - ie, the places with heavy Dem turnout.

Yeah, but, if there is a real riot, 200 troops ain't doing shit to stop it.

Also, what are 1,000 troops dispersed over five major cites going to accomplish? I don't think anybody will even be able to notice them unless they are all literally standing in place.

It's the Texas Guard.   They'll be eating fast food in their humvees, surfing porn on their phones.  Yet another pointless and empty gesture from a party that specializes in them.

So we'll have Proud Boys, Boogaloo Bois, Texas National Guard, Trump Poll Watcher Scrot-Squad, State Troopers, Texas Rangers, DPS, and the TCRP Ballot Brigade.

We'll literally have hundreds of human protectors of Democracy in each county...all watching one fucking dropoff box.

We are an embarrassment.

I absolutely don't think it fucking happens, but it would certainly be a complete repudiation of Trumpism.

It's still a remarkable number of people voting for one of the worst humans to ever get the nomination of a major party.

It will be a defeat of Trumpism in terms of numbers, but that megalithic kidney stone tearing it's way along the urinary track is not going to be expelled.

If not for Covid, what would Trump's numbers be?

I harp on this, no doubt. It's upsetting. Still, I won't deprive myself of the pleasure of seeing Trumpism firmly slapped into a minority position.

And maybe the assumption will be wrong, but it's one that is pretty reasonable when one candidate is pushing early voting and the other is attacking it.  I'm not sure what you mean by "from whom they're coming demographically,"  The only demographics I see there are party affiliation (any major changes in registration have already happened) and that they are in Maricopa Co.  And what that evidence supports is "Democrats are more likely to vote early in this election cycle."  Hopefully that will portend greater Dem turnout (relative to Republicans) in total, but right now that is just a hope.

Really good to know.

Also good to know.

Actually I underestimated it, in 2018 it was more than 75%

The “undecided” people are voting for Trump. If you are undecided at this point you are simply too stupid to do the right thing.

“you can either be fucked in the ass or have an ice cream cone”

”hmmm. I’m undecided. What brand of lube would be used?”

Maricopa is huge.  It's not like Dallas County or Travis County.  It includes not just Phoenix, but also all of Phoenix's suburbs (along with a fair amount of absolute nothing).  Apache and Coconino (Tuscon and Flagstaff, respectively) will go Democratic by large enough margins that it cancels out the rest of the state, which will go largely Republican (in particular Pinal County, which includes Phoenix's far-southwestern exurbs).

That pretty much leaves Maricopa as the deciding county.

Pinal isn't just Phoenix's exurbs. It fully has about 500k people to the south and southeast of Maricopa County. It's the third largest county in AZ behind Maricopa and Pima.

I'm not going to be able to relax until Biden is sitting at the Resolute desk and Trump is locked away in Mar a Lago with his lawyers claiming he's an old man and mentally unfit to stand trial in NY.

I've actually wondered whether some of his conduct is for the purpose of setting up an incompetence defense.

Not gonna lie, this tweet kinda scares the shit out of me. With ACB being confirmed tonight, Trump & the GOP are gonna pull some shit w/ the courts in a legitimate attempt to steal this election. I don't what nonsense they can actually get away with, but we know the play.

It won’t work.

Chill out.

Would it help if I told you Kavanaugh just cited Bush v. Gore in an opinion telling voters to get fucked?

If they go that route I'd immediately impeach every federal judge he nominated on the grounds that he was not of sound mind when he made the nomination.

as an architect I'm pretty sure I can practice anywhere in the world. I just need to learn metric system. thanks obama

So, the story about Sammy Hagar building "Cabo Wabo" fits here.   Sammy had the experience of having had a couple of homes built for himself, so he'd seen plans before.

So he's looking at the plans, and he thinks the place is just what he wanted; a small, intimate club.  He gives the go-ahead and construction starts.  He goes down for the first job walk.  The place is fucking HUGE, much much bigger than it looked on paper.  Then the architect explains that they do square meters, not square feet.

Well, if there were any doubt that Trump is going to deploy his "I'm a total piece of shit human being and I'm going to delegitimize our entire Democratic process because I can't take losing like a man" strategy, it's gone now.

He's gonna do it. Lord I hope Biden gets 270 by next Tuesday.

How fucked up is it that we now have three - a full fucking third - members of the Supreme Court that were lawyers for Bush during that mess?

Wow. That’s fucking depressing. How do we avoid this election going to the Supreme Court? Does Biden have to win by a stupid margin?

If that happens there will be a civil war.

Well, as I've said before, if it gets to the point where the SCOTUS is throwing out Biden votes to rig the election for Trump, we aren't living in America anymore. I'll wave goodbye and find another country to call home.

Don’t run.  Fight.

In regard to the Arizona numbers, don’t forget the McCain effect. Sinema got decent cross over support from republicans and did well with independents. Given that we’re in a similar political environment, I’d expect the same thing for Biden.

Nevada and Arizona are both looking good for Joe.

The man took the bulldozer in Haines City on Saturday and repeatedly destroyed Biden signs in full view of people who live in the neighborhood, witnesses said. James Blight was charged with grand theft auto and trespassing, according to the Haines City Police Department.

Video taken by the news outlet showed the damaged fences. Blight was also accused of bulldozing down a city speed limit sign, among other signs.

Police said Blight claimed he was too drunk at the time to remember what happened. It was not immediately clear whether he has an attorney who could comment on his behalf.

Went down a rabbit hole of trying to figure out if and how pollsters are changing their methodology for 2020 to course-correct for what happened in the Midwest last time around. This article is pretty good:

https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/what-pollsters-have-changed-since-2016-and-what-still-worries-them-about-2020/

Cliff's is that most of the pollsters are at least attempting to adjust, some in different ways than others. Whether including education levels, rural vs. urban, or other factors, the majority seem to be attempting to adjust. They did note that even with the corrections a couple of pollsters would have still missed pretty badly on 2016.

One of the pollsters mentioned to have adjusted was Clinton +6 in Wisconsin and is Biden +9 now, and was +3 in 2016 and +5 now for Pennsylvania. So that's a tiny bit reassuring. Biden outperforming Clinton even with the presumably pro-Trump adjustments for demographics.

That will be an interesting angle, given the fact that military ballots are allowed and counted as much as two weeks or more after the election, depending on the state.  Good luck wiping out the vote of the soldier.

Biggest fucking mistake Trumpkins ever made was assuming they are the only well-armed folks in the country.

They’re not.

Pennsylvania can’t even start counting their votes until Election Day.

and the votes they will be counting during the day will be overwhelmingly for Biden, so Trump will be behind.

He's going to change his tune when that occurs.
