Fuck Big 12 refs

I know that last year, two offensive holding calls made on Texas opponents were compensated for by calling personal fouls on Texas on later plays, to keep drives going.

The same happened in the KSU game, except that the Texas pf was called on the same play as KSU’s holding call.

Have there been any opponent holding calls this year, not undone by a personal foul?

We really should be miking the officials’ locker and the review booth.

There is zero non comical argument to be made that Stoops wasn’t blatantly interfered with on that play.  Anyone debating that it was a clean play is simply not anyone to take seriously.

Absolutely. The DB made a good decision- do whatever it takes to keep him from catching it, and live with the penalty to fight on the next down.

And then there was no penalty. I bet the DB was as surprised as anyone.

If I was a litigator and had my own firm, I think i might send some kind of notice to the Big 12 office on behalf of a potential class of sports betters asking to preserve all correspondence between conference administrators and officials just to fuck with them with the clear implication that you suspect fraud.  Litigators that have their own firm can tell me why that might be a bad idea.  But would love for Yormark to squirm a bit with his fuckery and start having to think about if he or the idiots that work for him might have put something stupid in writing.

Hell if ticket holders are buying tickets expecting a fair competition and that competition is in fact not being fairly administered then every ticket purchaser would have a grievance.

I was arguing with a Poke on reddit that Big 12 refs just love Gundy and consistently call games favorably to OSU. He said that was just the Texas fan in me talking, but I remembered a terrible call from 2021 where an ISU TD was taken off the board for "taunting". I found the video and imagine my shock when I saw the ref on the call:

Sidenote - Matt Campbell is still a whiny little bitch.

Clearly your Burnt Orange glasses…

Maybe Kevin Mar warned him first?

Can’t believe I’m siding with a Stoops, but the reason he stepped out was because he was being mugged and pulled OOB.

This is just before his right foot came down, but the PI started a full step earlier.

I'm an old and lazy, but want to make a comment on pass interference rules college vs. NFL. I saw this play as obvious pi on osu. Using this as an example, if Stoops catches the ball while he's in the air, no interference and looks like he'll land good for the TD....the college defender can push his ass 3 yards out of bounds once catch is made with no penalty.  In the NFL the official will mark the play at the assuming location the receiver would have landed. This was the rule back in the day and I think it still is today,  but too lazy to look up.

You're about 15 years late.  The force-out rule changed in 2008, and obviously wasn't catastrophic as this article was afraid it would be.

If it works like the NFL, they've already tried that on a rigged looking game and the court deemed it "entertainment" and you pay for the show, there's no expectation for it to be a fair game.

They are garbage and corrupt.

given my druthers, I’d take Mar to a corn field and give him the same treatment Joe Pesci got in Casino.

I would hope that entails leaving him in the field so that the buzzards could pick over his carcass.

The top is obviously the bump into Strong intentionally to throw a personal foul flag.  I'm not sure I've ever seen anything like that at any level of sport.  It was clearly personal.

But, as for this season, I'm pretty sure it was Mar or one of his minions that was caught on film in the Wyoming game screaming at Ewers for celebrating a TD that was about a 3/10 on the level of what is considered permissible for TD celebrations in the current era.  It was bizarre.  And no doubt setting up the possibility to call anything other than quietly handing the ball to the official on the next TD with the explanation that "I warned you".   That crew is just pure garbage.

That game was an all-timer.  It also had the ridiculous defensive holding call against one of our DL which is still one of the most absurd flags I have seen.

I know it's a pipe dream, but I sure wish the SEC would start taking shots at the Rig12 about how they are so butthurt that they are trying to tank the chances of the two teams leaving.

Perhaps its time to fund a NIH deal available to any player of any team that accidently runs into him full speed and takes this bitch out for rest of the season.

I’ve often wondered why college DBs don’t lift and carry receivers OOB on sideline (or EZ) catches, assuming they are in the position to do so.

Meh.  He's "just saying."  Not even "just asking questions."  Kurt is a feckless relic.

And not to be that guy, but maybe we could tone down some of the allusions to physical retribution.  They're funny and quite obviously in jest, but I wouldn't count on a guy who can't tell the difference between laying on a ball and having possession of it to make that subtle distinction, nor of one so thin-skinned and petty to visibly chide players on TV as he does to not be a little bitch about it and make a terroristic threat claim.

Our group's last run-in with a humorless fuck resulted in me having to change my bookmarks.

Even more absurd, on that same play, we had a defensive lineman being held, from behind, with two arms wrapped around his neck. He was pulled to the ground. From behind. Fuck off, Walt.

Then that should be required to be printed very prominently on each and every ticket same as the warning on cigarette boxes.

Uhhh... what ticket?

It can be a part of the wall of words you have to scroll through and click “agree” before you download your ticket; because we as a society have decided that fine print has as much place in any consumer situation such as buying a ticket to a sporting event or downloading the operating system you need to make your thousand dollar phone work as it does when you are signing an agreement to borrow $650K and pay it back over 30 years.
