2022 Transfer Thread - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

You know you've made it when @closetojumping feels threatened enough to denigrate and misrepresent you, but also not tag you. His claims and the receipts are all below so you can see for yourself. I guess he twists what I say because he agrees with me or because he thinks he can embarrass me. What is the value of embarrassing people here by misrepresenting them?

Some of you may know closetojumping in real life. Is he a name-calling bully who elevates himself by putting others down? Does he misunderstand simple prose or does he just lie about what he hears? He brags about his leadership and power. I know leaders who act like him in real life. I find them childish, and it generally doesn't end well for them.

I edited his post, leaving out the name-calling, so it would make sense with what I actually said. You can look up the posts if you want to. They're here.

CJT claims quigley said

1) the OU offense will be better without Riley

CJT claims quigley said
3) defending Ted Roof as some sort of wizardesque mirage of a DC as a front for Venables
5) Jay Valai will fucking crush it at OU

CJT claims quigley said

2) Caleb Williams would have walked on to be at OU
4) repeated obsessive posts about how much he loves Caleb Williams while clearly vacillating offline between sobbing hysterically in a corner and beating the absolute shit out of the Caleb Williams doll he’s been making gentle love to for the past two years

Yeah, I did say that Williams would have walked on at OU, because Williams has said this and multiple others around him have too. Do I feel like there may be hyperbole about his desire to be in Norman, sure. But it's been reported. Should we take your word?

What I do with my Caleb Williams doll is my business and my business alone.

This all I could think of when trying to read this post

Agreed

Expect OU to be in the market for a bunch of WR. Mike Woods just declared for the draft (5th yr guy who transferred from Arkansas). WR room is really thin.

Thanks, they resemble C17s

They definitely will have to be. I see 17 commits currently, how many spaces will they have left. I know numbers can get up to 36 I believe, not sure of other transfers or counters. I think @closetojumping said there are going to be some problems filling all the scholly spots

HOLY FUCKING SHIT!!?!

This was the kind of pearl-clutching, long-winded, humorless, awesomely oblivious response I expected. You did not disappoint. It’s just outstanding.

Your response to me pointing out that you lied in a cowardly manner was "take a joke man." You may be rich, and people in America falsely ascribe virtue to people with money. But your response is that of a child. You may appreciate this.

If you watched him this year (which I'm guessing almost no one did), he really improved.  A lot.  And I was one of the biggest DTR bashers out there.  And he ripped SC a new one, so there's that.

His QBR of 153.4 was No. 1 among Pac-12 quarterbacks

damn UCLA went into the bowls as the #9 OFEI team.

Right now OU has ~ 75 players total right now, including the 2022 class (35 offensive players and 36 defensive players, specialist ~ 5).

There will be a couple of more portals. There will be a couple of more high school signees at the February deadline.

They have room to take ~ 7 - 10 players from the portal. Taking that many would be a bit of a departure from what Venables stated his policy would be.

The really need numbers at WR, TE, OL. OU's taken an OL (from Cal) and TE (Mizzou).

Any ou fan that thinks their offense will make improvements is regarded. Y'all aren't winning 10-11 games, either. Y'all will struggle mightily. I won't be surprised if y'all also go 5-7 6-6, etc. Changing systems + coaches better prepare you for some very ragey moments. Hide yo tv's, hide yo meth labs, hide yo skunk pellets.

OU isn't going 6-6 next season, don't be dumb. They won't win the conference but they aren't going full Chollie or Seven Loss Steve either. A good baseline of expectation is 9-3.

A lot will depend on what happens with Mims.

I don't know about 6-6 but I don't think their ceiling is high at all if they lose Mims.

Lol no fucking way. Losing a top 3 offensive mind in CFB for a guy that has never developed his own scheme and has called plays all of one year. Then throw in a clear downgrade from Williams to Gabriel. Then throw in the mass exodus of skill position players. I can understand your desire to be hopeful but that hope should come from the defensive side of the ball improving. If you think there is a 1% chance of them being a better offense next year you have been sampling too much of Oklahomas main export

Is that Incest? I mean, seriously, does Oklahoma even export anything? From meth to theft, I honestly thought all of their trade goods one way or another are focused internally. Also, what exports can escape the sucking?

so the offensive tackle situation is good to go in 2022? nice.

I can’t say definitively that the Brocks would be any better than what we will roll with. It isn’t like they are experienced and proven starters.

Counterpoint: You can say the same thing about Quinn Ewers versus Casey Thompson.

That being said, the Brocks can get fucked.

Fuck off. It's not so bad that I'd welcome the fucking Brocks back to my state.

This is very lofty thinking for a 5-7 team. Brock and Banks bookending our line for a couple of years would not suck. If you couldn't see that I don't know what to tell you. We were all saying horrible things about Ewers until he hit the portal. I would imagine it would be the exact same situation.

Do Choctaw Casino billboards count? They've exported a few thousand of those.

This is what you default to when your arguments and specious positions start falling flat - projection and virtue signaling. "If you're rich, you must be a bad person and people only like you because of that." You don't know a fucking thing about me or my story, hillbilly. I never said I was rich and don't lay a claim on the premise. Whether someone has money or not, it means not a thing in regard to their ability to sniff out someone else's silly bullshit and call them on it.

You've had your pants pulled down repeatedly on this board over the time in which you started posting. It has nothing to do with the character or socioeconomic position of those mocking your shitty and insipid positions. It has everything to do with you repeatedly pulling the bookshelf on top of yourself with laughably bad takes and then trying to wordsmith your way around them with posters who are more intelligent than you and better skilled at BBS rhetoric.

Once that starts really failing, we wind up here, where you're questioning other peoples' character and calling them small men of low moral fiber. Why? Because they found your idiotic stanning for Caleb Williams, and acting like PeeWee Herman shouting "we meant to do that!" when Lincoln Riley waved the deuce to your mouthbreathing fanbase and headed to the left coast, humorous.

In any event, please continue to mix in your hobo-level version of being this board's GK Chesterton to your posts. It's unintentionally hilarious.

Kind of but I can definitively say that I would prefer Ewers over Thompson. I can’t say that I would prefer Brock over Banks.
