Very presidential moment today for RFK Jr.

He might be my odds on favorite to take over once Trump croaks. You know the Trumpians are absolutely thrilled that all their facebook thoughts on "the jab" are being talked about to the nasty libs in public.

You might be right.

I've found that with sesame oil, anything more than a tsp and it's all I can taste.  I do like using avocado oil though.

Sesame oil for stir fries only but I do love the flavor so much. avocado oil is really great for pan sauteeing, searing, etc. olive oil preferred when you want the taste and know you won't go past the smoke point.

his statistics on 1 in 5 kids on stimulants or SSRIs is false. appears that 3.2% are on SSRIs and about the same for ADHD meds. estimates are 7-10% of kids per science direct. you can slice and dice the numbers to get close to 20% but blanket statement that 20% of kids are on mental health drugs is just false.

all of his testimony including the gravel in his larynx pisses me off to no end and I do have a real problem with kids with out of balance lives, parents without of balance lives turning their kids to pharma first instead of doing the hard work of making sure diet, exercise, sleep, relationships, be outside, and stress are handled first before popping pills for mental health.

But more than anything, FUCK THAT GUY FOR LYING.

Avocado oil is fantastic and has become the default for all uses in my kitchen that involve cooking with unsaturated fat except for those that specifically require  others, eg sesame.

Here’s the problem with that: it’s no different than saying that rather than transition genders, maybe try the Atkins diet, take some multivitamins, and talk to a church elder. It diminishes what people struggling with depression and crippling anxiety are dealing with.

I know a few people on SSRIs and I can say with 100% certainly that they would rather not be and that they tried other routes like therapy, meditation, diet, supplements, exercise, etc., etc. with no success. I can also say that they have all tried to go off of SSRIs (some multiple times) only to spiral back into depression. And I believe that SSRIs may have saved their careers and possibly lives, and that the medication appears to have allowed them to be productive and happy again.

Some podcast I was listening to said something about the whole French Laundry deal potentially costing Newsom the presidency in 2028. I cannot possibly think of a better example of "Republicans can do whatever the fuck they want at all times, and democrats have to be perfect".

I guarantee you that if 83 year-old Trump is running for a third term, and most of the country is burning, including the Constitution, you will hear "Yeah but remember when Newsom ate in a restaurant eight years ago? Gotta pull the lever for Trump."

I agree with what you are saying so either I misspoke or you misunderstood me.

And guess what - transition and transition meds weren’t a magic pill either.

we cannot escape our humanity. The natural laws apply (the enumerated factors I mentioned above) even if you are trans and/or depressed. But we ALL tend to want an easy solution.

Yes pharma may be a lynch pin but no one can escape the natural laws of humanity.

With COVID, I can at least see some logic to skepticism considering the speed at which it was developed and that it was a newer mRNA technology, and wasn't aimed at complete eradication.

The existing mandates are all decades old, proven to have little or no side effects, and indisputably eradicated all sort of horrible diseases in this country.

Skepticism of those is just outright lunacy.

If our species survives another 100 years or more there will be novels written about this particular time period and how stupid we became after centuries of development.

I'm starting to think some of the conspiracy theories have some truth to it, like maybe our water supply is in fact being poisoned with something (not floride) that affects half of the population and makes them idiots. Maybe the same with chemtrails. I just don't get what the fuck is actually happening right now to lead us to this moment in time.

I question reality all of the time now. Especially when people I have known my entire life talk to me about how great Trump is. The short answer I think is people mainlining insane right-wing propaganda for decades. But then you watch five seconds of that shit and go "How could anyone fall for this?" and you're back to questioning reality. I don't know, man.

Man, I just don’t agree with that. At all.

I’ve witnessed people I’m very close with struggle to fix themselves the natural route. They fought fucking hard and endured long stretches of painful, ineffective effort to overcome their depression. Because they saw it as some kind of flaw that they were obligated to fix the hard way. Medication was a last resort, only after it became clear that all the acceptable self-help shit wasn’t working. And they only begrudgingly tried medication, saddled with guilt and shame for not being able to fix themselves the Right Way.

The stigma is counterproductive. SSRIs can help people. Why force those people to struggle with a bunch of bullshit just because that’s the way men dealt with problems back in the days when high school football players treated dehydration with salt tablets and losing consciousness?

it's not either or, I've never said it was.

I am also not stigmatizing the use of mental health drugs. I've been very clear on this topic over many months, when you need SSRIs you need them. for many they are a miracle. full stop.

and there is no escaping natural laws that our bodies and minds are subject to - and research is very clear cause impacts to our mental health - so if you think having jacked up sleep, nutrition, no exercise, no time in nature, fucked up relationships, shitty job and stress out your ass is no big deal well, okay. but your wrong.

btw - at least when i was going through my process it was a totality of the circumstances approach, not either or, but both and, what modalities could be used to help me get better. I see no reason why mental health shouldn't be the same.

and you know what? my transition + being mindful of all the natural laws I am subject to that impact my mental health are 100% why I'm thriving. not either or.

this isn't a productive conversation so I see no need to continue.

I always wonder why people referring to covid vaccines now, generally in the course of questioning them, only ever contemplate the MRNA ones... everyone seems to forget that the J&J shot was developed from older technology-- and had a shit-ton more problems than Pfizer/Moderna mrna ones.

guys, guys...i think i'm coming around 🤔 hear me out...

listening to the standing ovation that Florida dope got when he made his vaccine-mandates-are-slavery announcement, and knowing who 100% of the people cheering vote for, and knowing that rational, sane, non-brainwashed people will still get vaccines because DUH...

like most dumb species in the animal kingdom with no sense of self-preservation, they are taking steps to kill themselves off 🤨

and unlike pandas they are not even cute or funny so nobody else is going to take care of them either.

combined with gutting rural and red state subsidies, jobs, and healthcare...

maybe there will be light at the end of this tunnel eventually 🤔

i mean i'm trying, guys!

On my four hour flight back from the east coast this week, I decided to take a break and watch some Planet Earth for entertainment. As much as you like to think it's the dumb impatient wildebeest at the water's edge that's going to get crocodiled, it's actually the smarter ones behind him that get eaten when they are pushed in thanks to the peabrain's flailing-about-in-a-panic antics. It's not hard when the camera covers the 'oh shit, why didn't I push him in first when I had the chance' expression in slow motion as the croc clamps down. Not that I'm anthropomorphizing or anything....

This is why I disagree with Bernie Sanders, let those fuckers who voted for this lose their $150 billion in subsidies.   Why should we have to support dumb fucks who are trying to make our lives as miserable as their own?  They don't have a hospital?  Rub some dirt on it, get some boot straps, and tell them that "real merikans don't need no help or doctors."  When women complain they can't see a doc, tell them that frontier women used to have 30 kids, while helping with the herd, and they still had time to make all their clothes and cook/clean and care for the baby.  Lady boot straps.

More importantly, who is the brunette sitting behind him?
