Playing devil's advocate, these kids were living in an online world that 99% of us were completely clueless about. Memes, trolls, inside jokes, roleplay, etc. "People don't talk this way in real life" doesn't seem like a compelling argument IMO. They live in a completely different existence than "regular" people.

Also the two people involved in that conversation are alive. One is detained and the other has been cooperating with law enforcement. I'm assuming both have attorneys at this point. If the text was doctored or falsified by FBI or LEOs, wouldn't their be public pushback from their sides?

This is a HUGE problem, actually the root of all of this imo.  For huge swaths of this country online is their real life.  Everything else is bullshit.  I don't see it changing anytime soon.

I'm saying there are slots based on merit.

Are you serious about making the claim that there are not companies out here specifically with quotas for certain races, genders etc.?  Shit man the company I work for has whole ass dashboards where it’s tracked and then are judged on it at end of year. Literally our comp is impacted by how many non-white men are hired and promoted.

Enchubben, can you provide a plausible reading of how Michelle Obama (First Lady) and Sheila Jackson Lee (Elected Rep) were “affirmative action picks?”  What’s a good faith interpretation of that?

Because the right is so fucking tolerant right now?  Answer.  They are not.  They are becoming more and more oppressive and you and your ilk are lapping it up while they do nothing to improve your lives.

Show us the dashboard.

Also why do you work for them? Surely you can get another job. Or let us know who you work for so I can investigate myself.

I gotta say I'm really enjoying "Ledge" Twice.  Not feeling the incessant need to defend the utter traveshamockery that is the U.S. judiciary these days has really allowed his posting to blossom.

Inasmuch as that has been illegal for quite some time now, why hasn't anyone sued?

And, can you say with complete, or really any confidence that the "certain races, genders, etc." were less competent or meritorious than the mediocre white men they "replaced"?

Or could it be that management is rewarded for recruiting competent and qualified "certain races, genders, etc". and insuring they don't get passed over by the good ol' boy system?

Nothing he does will be in good faith

I will again point out that the judiciary is the only thing even throwing logs in Trump's path.  SCOTUS may ultimately remove them, but I think once things can't be resolved on the shadow docket, it's going to get stickier for them.

Maybe no so insane if they're desperate to get some of those young conservative Christian Charlie Kirk fans into their congregations.

I’d love to see that lawsuit and then the post judgment bitching about the liberal, DEI court that screwed the I’ll informed worker.

Goddamnit, this is such a waste of my time, but to the point of a company having demographic statistics, yeah most if not all will, because if a large organizations demographics are way off of the local population (let's say Black people make up 25% of the local population but only 5% of your personnel) it means the hiring process is flawed. There is no objective reason for the numbers to be that far off. Also, someone made the point earlier, having different perspectives is valuable in most board rooms, it's good for business. I already made the point, specific racial quotas were outlawed decades ago, that's not why companies keep statistics. Ugh, back to work.

Yeah....I'm gonna go with "things a MAGA said that are just plain false" for $1000, Alex.  Enchubben is full of shit.  The system he is describing would have been illegal long before Trump took office.

Leo seems pretty cool, but he's still Catholic, and I doubt he wants to step into American political shit. It would confirm why many people didn't want an American pope.

But that's exactly why he can say "stop commenting on political shit and never again go on a political show."

Now lets apply that to Kirk's distrust of Black pilots. The racism is so fucking blatant and for so many reasons it shouldn't have to be explained. But here's one of the many reasons it is overtly racist. There are thousands, maybe hudreds of thousands of commercial pilots currently employed. Flying a plane is hard but doesn't require any particular form of elevated intelligence, just a lot of training. To think for even a second that a commercial airline is going to hire an unqualified Black person for DEI purposes is completely asinine and assumes that Black people are somehow incapable of comprehending the training needed to fly a plane. Or more specifically, even if there was a quota, that there simply aren't enough Black people smart enough to absorb the training and to meet the qualifications to fill that quota. Racist. As. Fuck.

Why, I bet Barrack didn't even interview any white men when it was time to get married. He just went straight to a black woman.

It's good to put a name to something.

But I'm not sure this is quite Enchubben's shtick. Otter acknowledges the charges and addresses them before conflating them with America. Enchubben just ignores the charges as if they don't exist, which is generally what Trump/MAGA does (unless it's attention required to scrub extremist political violence studies from government websites) or some other act of willful deception to manipulate opinion.

With a mistake like that, are we sure Kirk wasn't NowThis?

Goddammit.  I did the same thing.  Except it was with gals with great boobs.  Just went straight to one of those.

Dammit.  I'm racist against women with no curves.  Mea culpa.
